I have been on Apple and AT&T's pre-ordering system since this morning. I finally got through using AT&T's system. I am f***ing pissed off at you Apple & ATT!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

* Requires new two-year AT&T wireless service contract, sold separately to qualified customers; credit check required; must be 18 or older. Existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an existing iPhone will find out if they are eligible for early upgrade pricing: $299 (8GB), $399 (16GB), or $499 (32GB) with a new two-year contract. For those who are not eligible for an early upgrade, the prices are $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB). In CA, MA, and RI, sales tax is collected on the unbundled price of iPhone.
What the hell does that mean? Fine print @ Apple Store.

Now I have 2....

well I was able to reserve a 32Gb black @ my local apple store using the new iPhone Apple Store app. Tried a second time and the app said due to high demand it was not available for pr-order via the app at this time due to high demand.

I got a confirmation email for the pickup, so it did successfully go through the 1st time.

I then went to the apple.com site and after trying 2 more times, was able to pre-order (and pay) for another iPhone at the upgrade price and have it shipped to my house.

Since I didn't have to put a credit card down for my in store pickup I'll hold on to it for now in the event of an issue, but after trying a couple hundred times since 7 am this morning, I now have 2 iPhones reserved in my name. Just typical first day problems (which surprise no one after almost 4 years).

I shiver to think what will happen on Tuesday when everyone tries to download and activate iOS4 for their existing phones.

All this mess with just pre-ordering, I cant wait to see what happens the 24th when we all go to activate.

Oh my gosh! After going at it all day since 9:30 am MDT It finally went through! Although rather slow and suspenseful I finally paid and now I'm just waiting for the conformation email.

We're all going to be bricked on the 24th.

And I've been trying all day like everyone else. The closest I got was the "confirm order" page on AT&T's site and it wouldn't go through, it timed out. :(

AT&T Preorder

has any one that preoredered from att early around 630 this morning still not get an email

I preordered around 5:50am eastern time this morning and got a confirmation email almost immediately. I checked my account earlier today and in my order status the preorder was listed. Try checking there if you're able to access your online account. I am not able to log in now because they're upgrading their systems (a little tardy there, don't you think?). :D

i tried ordering from ATT, this was my 4th time, and each time it confirmed the order with an email then few sec later it emails me again that the order was canceled. this is BS already

There few problems (besides from the obvious)

Because of the people who have successfully ordered and had one reserved, there will shortage of phones on the launch day.

Two methods of reserving
- timed out page which tells you to reserve one by closest store
- Apple App which you can set your reserved

It seems like you can reserve multiple if you are at the timed out page but there is no confirmation (since you dont need to put your Apple ID).

Oh and the massive activation madness on the launch day.

I "succeeded" in placing my order for delivery from ATT at 2 PM. Well two hours went by without a confirmations so I jumped on Apple while it worked and ordered. Glad I did, I contacted ATT to prevent two charges and they confirmed to me (as they did others) that my order never finalized despite appearing like it did.

Whew... now to just get that email from Apple to call it done.

Just got mine reserved through the Apple Store App, and received an email right away. I did not have to select a rate plan or any of that, so I am guessing that is not required to reserve a phone?

I got an confirmation email from ATT website.

Does this GUARANTEE that I get my phone shipped to my house on the 24th????

I mean doesn't Apple Store get priority over ATT and therefore customers who preordered via ATT would be left out until all Apple Store preorders are fulfilled?

Att has been down for me for Hours

I think I can't get passed the processing information page @apple because ATT is doing this when I try to log on. I think they are linked.

Geeez thanks.

I went to pre-order on Apple site but I was only allowed to reserve my phone at the nearest Apple store. I wanted to have the phone delivered to my house, but I will have to wait in the long lines just to see if there are phones left. Whoopie, thanks Apple and AT&T.

What do you mean by "succeeded"? I went through AT&T, got a confirmation page, which I printed, but no e-mail as of yet. Now you have me worried!

Well, yeah.

Apple could have cached AT&T's data given that they had a week's notice that they were going to take pre-orders for a device that was going to be extremely popular.

But that would have forced them to think different.

Anyone else think this is the best advertising Dell's server business ever had?
