Sorry to burst your bubble, but this message has been up for a good three hours for me. If you would look back in this topic you would see it ;)

The last few times I had tried att.com I was getting an Apache error, so this was a new screen for me ;)

I sure hope At&t orders get shipped next week. I finally finished up the 3 phones for my family plan. These are the times the orders finally went through - 7:30, 11:46, & 2:35. All orders show as ordered and are processed. Now I just need to see them shipped. This has been a rough day for everyone.

order JUST went through via store.apple.com - it's sorta rewarding seeing this image after all that bs...

man, i need to go outside. good luck guys!

Advertising is about image, not reality. And the image is stark - Apple's Xserves - for whatever reason - are FAILING.

No responsible IT manager would make a purchasing decision on the basis of "image." Besides, I'm not at all sure Apple's store runs on Xserves - and I know AT&T's system does not.

Don't know if it made a difference but before I tried connecting I logged into my Apple Store Account. My phone and bumper order went right through.

i tried for 4 hours between apple.com and 1800myapple no luck. went to the att site done in 5 minutes with a phone ordered. i tried several more times just for fun att site worked while the apple site did not. seems although there may be congestion issues at att apple is having their own issues

I've been trying since 6:30 AM this morning. Just got so close on apple.com...got the phone and chose the voice and messaging plans and then I thought I was done but it failed at the last second....I feel like quiting for the day, but why not keep trying?

After many failed attempts on the Apple site, I was able to order through ATT early this morning with no issues. I did receive a confirmation email, and the order shows in my ATT online account.

Here is a snapshot of the pending order on my ATT account page. Notably, it says "backordered" - not sure if this means it's actually backordered, or it just says that until the release date.

Who ever is technically in charge of their site is doing a terrible job. They should know how many requests AT&T can handle as well as their system. They should then be throttling the request.

Probably also wise to do on line orders only at first and then open the stores up for pre-orders on Monday.

It just went through for me, but it won't let me get it shipped to my house. Whatever, I'll just need to go to the store, it's only an hour away. This sucks though because I think I might need to have my dad there? Since he is the account holder?

Order Just Went Through

I just got my order in through ATT's website... confirmation number and all. anybody else having success?

Went to my local AT&T store, they had to carbon-copy my credit card to be charged later tonight when "things die down a bit."

Oh well, I'm getting my iPhone either way :)

If you’ve got an iPhone already, I had luck using the new Apple Store app to pre-order a phone. It found my info from AT&T and determined I was eligible to upgrade, finished the process, and I got a confirmation email momentarily afterwards. This was when Apple’s site was still unable to get info from AT&T (timing out).

Just my experience.

Mine looks the same. Hopefully that's just AT&T-speak for "not available for shipping yet", as one would expect at this point.

Finally got through, only to find out you can't order two iphones at once. Even if they are for separate lines.

As much as I recognize that the bottleneck appears to be in AT&T's infrastructure (the timeout only seems to happen when whatever service that determines eligibility is invoked) I do have to agree with you that Apple's site should have anticipated this and accounted for it. I wouldn't mind if some piece of AJAX had to keep polling for an hour to see if my eligibility request was finally answered, so long as the damned thing were placed into a queue and handled in the order it was received. The thing I can't stand is having to start the process over again from the beginning, knowing that the best I can hope for is to be lucky enough to make it through within the scope of a synchronous request.

Hallelujah!!!!:)

Got one from Apple's website. I think the servers are improving. On my final few attempts, I was consistently getting farther along before it bogged down.

The 24th will be a clusterf*ck.

Release The Doves

Order finally went all the way through on Apple.com

I felt like I was looking for a bone marrow transplant.

I need a drink.

Looks like things are letting up on Apple's site. I managed to get a pre-order for both my lines within the past hour after trying periodically all day. Good luck all!
