No, it's not. There's no cart, there's no data or voice or SMS/MMS plan inquiry, no "retrieving your information from AT&T," nothing. In other words it doesn't go through any of the steps that actually occur when a real order goes through. You're mistaken. When you open the app instead of clicking on "reserve your iPhone 4" click on the banner above it. It's the same preorder process as the online apple store.
I'm sure they were more then somewhat prepared. But planning will only get you so far on something like this...
Yes. Took less than 10 minutes.
Ummm, why not wait until a week or two (or longer) after launch to get the phone? Don't people have stuff to do instead of waiting on hold for 3 hours on a weekday?
You know, we've had this basically every iPhone launch. I'm kind of used to it at this point, which is kind of sad.
Another provider selling the phones to ease the stress maybe?
Don't believe anything an AT&T rep in a retail store says. Their sole goal is to get you to buy an iPhone under their login so they get the commission.
It's near impossible that the iPhone 4 is on "backorder."
I managed to pre-order from the AT&T website this morning, but I never received a confirmation email? Should I be worried?
They gave me an order number, but no email. Do you think the network congestion might be interrupting their outgoing emails? Did someone pre-order from the AT&T website and got an email?
