I think dead horse might hit the nail on the head. No one has posted here in a few days. You might want to express your concerns on the Aluminum case pages. I ordered 9 days ago and haven't heard a word from Atomic. At this point I just want a refund.

Atomic Case

Just an update with my Atomic Case order.
They had a problem with the link for contacting them on the website. Because of this they did not receive any of the emails I sent previously.
I copied the address, sent them an email and the responded within the hour.
I was pretty impressed with the response time so I emailed them again and bam! they got back to me in 15 min. I sent another email and once again I got a reply in 10 min. It seems their comments about responding to customers in a timely fashion were spot on. I asked them for a refund on the case I ordered and it was credited to my Paypal account in less than an hour. They were very professional and courteous even though I was asking for a refund. That's a nice change. :D

I gotta say I was impressed with their attitude. I take back any negative comments I made about their customer service.

Atomic/Elemant Case

I had purchased a vapor case from element, had the insulators inside.
It was really really nice, fit/finish, quality color everything...beautiful.
Only problem was it completely killed my gps signal.
the phone worked, data worked, gps...dead.
Works fine in all other cases or with out a case.
Cant see buying any aluminum until they figure it out.
Elemant refunded my money, and i hated to have to send it back...:(

Atomic is horrible!!

Also they claim there customer service is great but they wanted me to pay return shipping to them, I asked for an address they never responded, I emailed again 1 week later and they said I was
passed the return window. Someone else mentioned a 3 day return wind, WOW!!

Also they supposedly have a fix, remember Nolesfan, but ignored my email stating I would keep the case if they sent me whatever I had to do to fix the reception.

Long story short quick response pre-sale, selective response post sale with problems.

Paypal denied my claim since they do not make rulings on quality of merchandise. I will be initiating a charge back from my CC company.

In addition to their lack of customer service, this is the company that totally ripped-off the Vapor4 design .

I dont see how they denied your return. They offered to pay your shipping as well and extended beyond the 3 days. Just because they don't have pre-pay labels to send you doesn't mean that they weren't willing to accept the return AND pay for the return shipping.

All your posts are about this case or defending it....they sold me a product they knew was defective and needed a fix, I should be emailed a shipping label and a big sorry were a crappy company , not a ride response when I posted my impression of the case online.

While I think joekwondo is a little starstruck, I honestly had zero issue returning my case to them. After I mailed it, the overall refund took a week total with only 2 days on their end processing the return/refund after they received the case back.

I am not a fan of their current product either (I have posted as much) but I can't say anything bad about their customer service at all. I had zero problems with my return. They even refunded my shipping which was completely unexpected.

laughable

This is what I refer to as a load of crud.

I've emailed you guys, both at the sales address and through your webform several times since Monday, and not a peep has been sent back to me.

At this point, I want to cancel my order, but of course since you don't share phone information, or respond to emails, I have no way of doing that.

Rest assurted, I will let American Express fight THAT fight for me, and I will proceed to knock the hell out of your company in every forum I have access to. I won't say anything negative about your product, as I've not seen it, nor do I plan to...however for customer service, you guys are among the worst I've ever dealt with. "Within 24 hours" should not mean no response in 4 days.

Hello folks.

We do pride ourselves on customer service. I do not know how you were or where you were trying to contact us, but we are VERY responsive all the time, and will never leave anyone in limbo. There has to be some misunderstanding on how you tried to contact us without response.

Good ole noles fan is at it again on a different board he is building up the atomic case claiming it's better than a apple bumper for reception yada yada yada. You would think if he really wasn't an employee of atomic they would ask or tell him to stop posting, he always ends up looming like a moron with a obvious agenda. But this speaks to the shady poor company Atomic truly is.

"BTW, I don't work for, get paid by, or am any way associated with Atomic Cases. I just happen to be a well educated individual who spent some time going to school for engineering. I have been working with Unni from Atomic cases to come up with a fix for the signal issue and we HAVE SOLVED IT!

Alright, after working with Atomic today on the issue we have come up with a fix for the signal issue. The fix itself was not hard at all, just took a bit of trial and error.

The first proposed fix was for me to use Super 88 3M tape and line the inside of the case with that to isolate the phone from the aluminum. Because the aluminum conducts it has the same problems the death grip gives the phone. Well after some careful cutting and trimming I got it to work. However it was very tedious work and not something that is easy for everyone to do.

So I dug through my garage and found some 3M Automotive Pinstripe that I had used on the grill of my Subaru to give it the S202 look. It was a perfect fit! Fit nicely inside the channel and just hit the sides enough to isolate the phone from the case properly. So again I applied it to the inside of the case, around the entire thing, carefully trimming around the openings, and I made a slight overlap where the screws are. This fix 100% solved my problems.

To prove that it was working I did several things.

1) Tested the phone in my house with the Micro-Cell w/o Case
2) Tested my phone outside the range of my Micro-Cell w/o Case
3) Tested my phone in my house with the Micro-Cell w/ Factory Apple Bumper Case
4) Tested my phone outside the range of my Micro-Cell w/ Factory Apple Bumper Case
5) Tested my phone inside my house with the Micro-Cell with the Atomic Case
6) Tested my phone outside the range of my Micro-Cell with the Atomic Case
7) Tested my phone inside my house with the Micro-Cell, Atomic Case, and Pinstripe fix
8) Tested my phone outside the range of my Micro-Cell, Atomic Case, and Pinstripe fix

Here are the Results:

Inside House With Micro Cell:
W/O Case Apple Approved Grip: Between -48 and -71 dB depending on location
W/O Case Giving Death Grip: Between -85 and -95 "" ""
W/ Apple Bumper: Between -50 and -73 dB "" ""
W/ Atomic Case no fix: Between -81 and -90dB "" ""
W/ Atomic Case and Fix: Between -49 and -73dB "" ""

So as you can see with the fix I am only getting a 1-2 dB loss depending on my location in the house. Both where taken from marked spots. One With Full bars 10ft away from Micro Cell, one upstairs and about 75 feet away form the micro cell -1 bar from full, and outside in my garage -2 bar from full about 200 ft from micro cell.

I also tested the phone phone with the Griffin case installed and my readings where between -56 and -83 dB. Which was worse than both the Apple bumper and the Atomic Case!
Testing on Edge Network to follow:
Initial reading showing between -1 and -2dB worse signal with the Atomic case and Fix on the phone than with no case at all, and the same results as with the Apple Bumper.

Testing on 3G Network to follow:

The FIX FROM ATOMIC:

After talking to Unni he has made the decision to go with a similar fix. Using a inlay on the case that will be die cut to fit the case and isolate the phone from the case. They will be the only Aluminum case so far with this. The little foam bumpers in in the Element case will not allow total isolation. So he has already been in contact with a place that can make the inlays for him and all the new cases will be shipping with this liner within DAYS!

If you already have a case and are having problems I am sure if you contact Unni at Atomic he will send you out a set of isolators for your phone if not better. Just please contact him, let him know your issue, and he will address it as soon as the isolators are available to him.

But no fear ladies and gents. There is a TOTAL FIX in the works, not just a band-aid like I made. It will be an exact match to the cut outs in the case so there will be no issues with it not isolating your phone. "

I don't think that is the same guy. That kid says he is in school studying engineering and nolesfan was in his 30's and had his own business from what I have read. That is definitely a different guy.

If you kept up with his posts on here though, you know that he contradicted himself many times about his "helping" Atomic and his background. So it wouldn't be surprising for this to not match with his original backstory either. But...these threads mentioning his name are probably going to get removed anyway, so let's get back on topic.

I agree but I don't think its him. Look at that guys join date, that would mean that he would of had to of had two accounts at the same time. That is someone different.

I'll post something new - I have an atomic brushed /brushed and I'm now convinced after a few days that it gets better reception than a vapor. On my way to work I have a tunnel to go thru of 1/2 mile and both vapors drop religiously at the half-way point every day. The Atomic has now been thru 4 times and never dropped the call. Don't know why, but it does hold the call. I am running the atomic with no tape or inlays whatsoever, just the raw aluminum case...

That IS new. Have you added any type of liner to the insides? Or are you just using the bare aluminum frame?

If you click on his name it shows his join date of 7/7/2010, that was way before any of that other stuff happened and that would also mean that he had two accounts at the same time! That guy is different for sure.
Where are you seeing his join date?

I ordered my Atomic, according to their website my ordered should be arriving any day now. I ordered on the 28th of Sept. The memo they posted said they were shipping the Oct 1st-4th orders to arrive on Oct 7th. Will post pics when I get it.

So what are you trying to say now? That nolesfan has 3 accounts over there? Man you are reaching for some reason, and I was not defending anyone. I just do not believe in bashing a product that you once praised. That just didn't make since to me. That's the only reason I said anything so leave me out of this.
Funny the thread where I found this post there is a guy by the name ufcfighter who defends him.
