So what are you trying to say now? That nolesfan has 3 accounts over there? Man you are reaching for some reason, and I was not defending anyone. I just do not believe in bashing a product that you once praised. That just didn't make since to me. That's the only reason I said anything so leave me out of this.

Reread the thread I have never praised the atomic it killed my signal and they would not send a pre- paid label, there blatant vapor ripoff was sent out faulty with them knowing it.

Well if that is you that I was posting to, you praised Element, I never said anything about Atomic. I have ordered some Element's, and I was curious as to why you loved the vapor in one thread a few months before and then bashed all metal cases in the atomic thread is all. It really had nothing even to do with atomic. Man I am sorry but reading some of YOUR posts on here all you do is stir up trouble. Why is that? I just get on here to get info and read opinions, you bash companies and start arguments with random people like me for example for no reason. And I am not a little pushover kid. So like I said before, no disrespect, but just leave me out of this deal. I have been taught self discipline my whole life but I don't like being accused of things. So can we please get this back on topic? And just so you know i did have a vapor and sent it back and got my money back because of the fit. I hated the way it just sat on the glass.

I'll post something new - I have an atomic brushed /brushed and I'm now convinced after a few days that it gets better reception than a vapor. On my way to work I have a tunnel to go thru of 1/2 mile and both vapors drop religiously at the half-way point every day. The Atomic has now been thru 4 times and never dropped the call. Don't know why, but it does hold the call. I am running the atomic with no tape or inlays whatsoever, just the raw aluminum case...

Glen, You are getting as bad as Chris. Every time I check out the threads you have a new case. Way to go!! haha:D. I find their finish a little too glossy so I see why you bought the Brushed/Brushed. Their colour selection Comes off as too generic looking. Reminds me of spray paint. I'm surprised that you haven't announced that your new Exovault is in the mail.

Ha! got the Fusion Raw I think in the Que...just love metal and a lot cheaper hobby that golf....also, call me weird ( and that's ok) but I like changing my case and dress watch every few days....

That's much what I pointed out to them. Their claim is that they send out the pre-redesigned cases because "many users did not experience reception problems". I've called them out on it, and they know they're getting my case back most likely (that's assuming it ever actually gets here...it was "shipped" a week ago)

Unlikely that I'm going to wait around for the vapor...so I'm putting all of my hopes on Alumacase and/or the fusionwerkz sabre.

Just a follow up - was missing the bolts and power button from shipment last week - got an email inthe same day from them that they were on their way - received today, just as promised..happy camper ...good case

Any idea where atomic is? They told me that my case shipped a week ago, but I've still not received it...

Have emailed a couple of times asking for tracking info, since it's not available on the website, but haven't heard back from ummi just yet: I'm sure they're probably getting pummeled.

SE Florida - North Miami

Thanks for the info. Heard from Unni last night about the fact that I'd still not received the case...here was the response. Hopefully more to come later. As irritated as I am, I'm grateful that I'm at least receiving some responses now.

Hmmm,

This is odd.. I thought it was in the Fedex System... Do you remember if it was USPS or Fedex?

There were few USPS ones delayed at post office for customs forms. Wonder if yours got piled up in there. Ill check that tomorrow. Fedex Home delivery to you should only take 5 days tops.

And the curiosity continues. I was unable to cancel my order because it had "already shipped" - heard from Unni today that apparently it is shipping today...

Odd...very, very odd.

Alright...here we are quite some time later, and I have confirmation that the thing was finally delivered to my house. If I can rig a tripod somehow I'll do an unboxing and review later - if not, you'll have to settle for pictures and typed opinions. I've been assured by Unni that this is the new "Redesigned" case.

We shall see - so far my wife said that, if nothing else, she's willing to say that they're not a very green company as the tiny case arrived in a positively huge box.

Not even bothering to post pics etc

So I received the case today. Nice looking, sturdy, attractive...however no carbon backing (which I did order/pay for), and no power button in the bag of hardware.

Installed the case, which was easy enough, but I was a little unhappy to see that there was no real "cushion" of any kind on the case. They've slotted both sides now so that there's only minimal contact between the case and the antenna itself. The whole package looks nice when installed:

And here you can see how they've slotted both sides to try to address the reception issues that the earlier design caused:

Once getting past my initial pleasure at the way the case looked, however, I began to look closer and noticed that there does, as previously reported, appear to be a rather sizable gap between the frame of the phone and the case itself, and I worried about how secure the phone would really be, and how much junk would get trapped in there:

Without the power button, obviously, there would be no way to reach the sleep button on the phone - I used the included allen wrench to hit it to take a screen cap of the speedtest app. The results were, unfortunately, rather conclusive.

First - the phone, wifi off, with my usual 2 - 3 bars of reception:

Next - the iphone, wifi off, with my Body glove vibe slide:

Finally, and predictably, with the atomic on:

I really WANTED to like this case and to want to keep it. I wanted to get home, put it on and be blown away. Unfortunately when you're talking about an 80 dollar case, you really do need to see something special to get what I'd consider good value...and this case seems to miss the mark. The slightly off-perfect fit, the lack of attention to detail (no backing or power button), and of course a fairly drastic drop in download speed made this decision very easy for me - back it goes. This is my first venture into the world of aluminum cases. It certainly wont be the last (I have an alumacase on the way to me as we speak, with a fusionwerkz sabre on pre-order)...but barring a drastic improvement, I think it's safe to say that the Atomic isn't the right one.

Thanks Big, good review.

But noles fan swore he fixed the problem with tape remember?

Good riddance to a horrible case and company!

To their credit, when I did start getting responses, Unni has been nothing but agreeabe. He seems genuinely concerned about the fact that there was no power button in my package and I suspect something in their shipping area is going to be getting a nasty gram.

That having been said, some things there are no excuses for. After waiting for as long as I had been, receiving an incomplete order? That's a fail, in a big way.

Back to waiting for alumacase, sabre and maybe one day a vapor :)

Did they do anything to the inside of the case of just cut the sides out? If they didn't line the case what did they think was going to happen? The bare case still is going to touch the phone itself creating a short. Obviously they don't learn from their mistakes. But I do hear they have a plastic one coming out! hahahah no kidding either.

They did nothing to the case that I can tell, apart from cutting out the slots.

My case is about 3 weeks old and came with no power button or bolts - they sent them immediately along with black liner pieces die cut perfectly for the inside. I get a good -75 to -95 read on the antenna. I'm satisfied with the case.

Glad to hear it's working for you! I'm sure they would send on the parts, but truth told I didn't like the look of the case with the slots cut...and the speedtest was pretty brutal, unfortunately.

I certainly don't wish atomic any ill will - I hope they do well, Unni seems like a good dude.

understood, I'm no cheerleader for them - my sides are solid which I do like better...just good customer service quickly from them for me...

As an interesting footnote, I was in touch with Unni today to get return information (again I have to say, he has been nothing short of a gentleman to deal with) and he's going to swap my current case for a new delrin/hybrid and aluminum case - which he's said will show ZERO reception issues.

Will certainly be sure to post more when it arrives etc.

Wow...Atomic must read the forums here, because several of us have suggested that a company make one of these style cases out of delrin for a long time.

If nothing else, I like seeing that they're actively revamping their cases and trying different things. I would admittedly prefer to see them stop shipping out cases that they know have the potential to cause issues...but it's good to see that they're working on it, and willing to work with their customers as well.

I let Unni know I'd be happy to give it a shot. If nothing else, he's really stepping up the customer service side of things.
