I was an accountant for a small, family-owned company, the kind of people who have everyone do everything for them. I got called on a Saturday to call pay per view and order boxing for my boss. He also called on a Sunday night to find out the name of the shop his hairdresser worked in. In this economy, you do whatever you have to to keep your job. Sucks.

and this is what we call being adaptive and a survivor, good for you. Jobs don't always present ideal conditions but we do what we must to live.

Thats different, and sucks, because you were the accountant, but the other poster has an "Assistant." The job title alone means their job to handle "random tasks" for their employer.
 
i don't think the poster said their assistant was a "she." also, some assistant jobs include running errands, such as picking up lunch, getting coffee, taking clothes to the dry cleaners, taking car to get detailed, picking up office supplies, etc. Just because someone is an assistant, it doesn't mean they are the standard office assistant that takes calls, looks over documents for cases, etc. So i wouldn't down the poster based on your personal job description.

Also I got confirmed word over the phone of my order being scheduled to ship this thursday and I pre ordered over the phone with At&t Plus friday morning at 7:00 am CST
 
The guy who says he works as the middle man between Apple and AT&T says they have guys manually assigning phones to accounts. If that's the case, I highly doubt orders will be filled exactly on a first come first serve basis. There is more than likely some luck involved in someone picking up your order and assigning you a phone.

9/18 @ 6:12pm CST received CSS email, backorder changed to 0

Premier order date of 9/14
ATTWS order date of 9/15
Date of contract acceptance 9/14

You literally ordered the same time I did. Just checked and I got my email @ 7:58 CST. My contract acceptance supposedly was on 9/15 though. So someone must have been (manually?) doing this? Because I did not get anything to "accept".

Only difference is mine shows "1" still and it's a White 16GB.
 
Ordered through premier as a new customer, I currently have iphone4 on gophone as I only moved to the us from uk 6 months ago.

Ordered 9/14 6:45 central, got confirmation email straight away, 'as soon as '21st'
Showed up on AT&T site 9/15 with pending charge
Back order has gone to 0
32gb black

So I think there is good hope for premier customers who had a delayed order on main AT&T site..

Am also quite surprised that they didn't want a deposit.
 
ordered mine 830 am release day not on backorder but i have only received the T&C email and the confirmation email that black iphone 16gb was ordered. Not premeir and ordered through phone. What is the CSS email everyone is talking bout?

The CSS is your Customer Service Summary. I ordered my phone Friday morning and received this email early this afternoon. The beginning of the email reads: "Thank you for choosing AT&T! This email confirms recent activity related to your wireless account and explains how to access your Customer Service Summary where you will find:
An outline of your services
An estimate of your next bill
Your calling plan
General account information
To access your Customer Service Summary, click here and login (or set up initial registration) to myAT&T."

Hmm....I find that interesting because I got my CSS the day I ordered but I'm still showing white 16gb as backordered.
 
Ermahgerd! Just changed recently. I ordered 9:14 AM PDT on the ATT site. Maybe this is a good sign for that "9 AM deadline"

I ordered my phone around 10:30am on Friday.

I have chatted with an online service person today who told me my phone was going to ship on Thursday. I also spoke to customer service person over the phone who really struggled to bring up my info but finally confirmed that "everything was moving along smoothly." When I asked for a ship date, she said that "if you ordered your phone before 9am PST then you will receive your phone on Friday. Anytime after that could take two or three weeks but could come before."

Man, that's not cool. I ordered my 32gb black THREE hours before that and I'm still backordered? And I got charged almost instantly? Maybe there is still a chance for me...
 
After reading numerous posts, it seems that many iPhone orders are about to ship. Mine still says "processing". Jesus Christ I am pissed, I pay what $335 a month and that's after a 25% discount. This is the sh** I get to put up with? I would like to know the status is all, if I will receive it this week, or in 3 weeks. I would call AT&T but those retards couldn't find their ***** with both hands. How would they ever find out how to check the status of an order?? On top of all of this, I still have the "Cancel Preorder" button. They really want me to cancel I guess.

Yeah, the CSS email is probably not any indication of your order moving into the shipping phase. I never got a confirmation email with the 9/21 delivery date but all the customer service reps I've spoken to told me I would get it. Who knows...I'm just going to be patient.
 
I gave up on the Apple site after they weren't selling no commitment phones so I decided to call AT&T. Waited for an hour and a half on the phone while I half-slept. Was about 0430 EST when I got off the phone with them. I initially received a confirmation at 0600 EST stating a 21st delivery. Then, a few days ago I got almost an exact copy of that email but this time it said 14-21 days. I was upset to say the least. Now it's better but I still don't have a ship confirmation or anything.

When did you get and accept the Terms & Condition email? I ordered on the phone a few hours after you but didn't accept the terms email until 9/15 because it went to spam didn't see it right away also didn't realize my order didn't even count until it was accepted so I'm screwed by At&t because my order date is now 9/15.
 
I ordered a black 32GB through ATT website at 11:15 CST on Friday and backordered just moved to 0. Hope that helps others thinking about time ordered....

Anyone else already have the upgrade charge posted to their account? I just checked mine and it's there, but my status still says backordered (Premier, 8am EST 9/14....site still shows 9/15)...

I had a pending charge which has disappeared. Anyone else have that? Ordered at 3:00 am est. still unable to track
