Don't loose hope guys. Shortly after receiving the email "Your AT&T Premier Order", my phone went to non-backordered. On a side note, I do not like the looks of the scuffing seen in another thread. But besides that if your order did not go through until the 15th, you should be fine.
 
I had to click a box acknowledging that I agreed to the TOS before I could press the Order button. I am a younger member, peon account. :)

I also had to scroll thru the terms and then check the box before I could press the Order button. I have the grandfathered Unlimited Data Plan that I was resigning up for, so I don't know if this has something to do with how I had the TOS agreement option before I could check out?
 
I ordered my phone from AT&T at 9:40am EST and nothing on my account has changed... We have premiere, but I don't know if the store themselves ordered it through premiere. This is all I have to work with.

Just got a second confirmation email from at&t.

I'm a premier member who placed my order at 6:20am est 9/14.

In addition, there is a temporary outage on at&t for status checks. The second email reads as follows

Dear xxxxxxxx,

Thank you for your recent purchase from the AT&T Premier Online Store. We're pleased that you chose AT&T as your service provider.

We wanted to confirm that your order is reserved and should arrive as soon as September 21, 2012.

So, I had one email initially. My backorder was at zero, my card was pending since Friday, and I placed my order on the at&t website. Hope this helps. Looks like I'll be getting it Friday.
 
Just received a new email stating ill get my two 16g white and black ip5.
I ordered by phone at 6am or so on the 14th. i original got a email stating a shipping date of the 21st. then on sunday another one stating 14-21 days.
today i got this.

wondering why your att copyright is 2008.... not 2012....

anyone else notice this?
maybe im crazy but seems like bs.
 
just got the email as well

16gb black/32gb black. ordered 4:15am PST on the 14th with premier. both showing B/O at 0.

the email says as soon as the 21st. i wouldnt get too excited yet.

I ordered a 32gb black over the phone at 8:30am central on the 14th. my Backorder went from 1 to 0 on the 15th at 6am. My debit from my BofA account is still processing. I show "In Progress" on the order status still. Back order 0. I plan to get delivery on the 21st.
 
Question, are only PREMIERE members getting their backordered changed from 1 to 0? I am not a premiere member but it seems like those who are posting about it are.

Mine still says backorder even though I placed my order about an hour after ordering went live.

I ordered a 16GB white iPhone at 8:45am EST and I am a non-premier customer. Mine just changed from backordered 1 to 0 in the last 10 minutes or so.
 
Sorry to double post, but to find out my shipping status I have to type in the order number provided in the email. When I login with my username and password, this is what I receive from them...

Should I be concerned?

ATT has seriously dropped the ball with this whole ordering system. Had I known it was going to be a nightmare like this, I would have just purchased from a brick and mortar store.

Yeah it has been pretty ridiculous. I originally tried to order through apple, but they were giving me some crap that I was going to need to make a deposit to order the phone. So only choice I really had was to go through AT&T. Out of all the days calling, tonight is really the only time I have gotten "hopefully" a clear answer.

I am in the same boat as you, except my orer was also delayed because I apparently needed to call in and answer their 4 credit verification questions (despite there being no indication that anything was being held up). I happaened to call Monday to see why I hadn't gotten any emails and found this out ... and this caused by order date to reset from 9/14 @ 1am to 9/17. I'm p!553d. Lesson learned. Never order through AT&T. They are not equipped to handle these volumes smoothly. The only reason I ordered through AT&T was because by the time I got through to Apple, it was saying the wait time was 14 days (which turned out to be not true). Double fail.

Ha, that's funny. Yes, I was glued to my screen and had one browser open to Apple.com and the other AT&T.com. AT&T worked first so I went with it and got my order in and done in 3 minutes.

I never got one email either, and they tell me that my porting request held up my order 2 extra days!! Wtf!!!

I also originally tried to order from Apple and got the same message and I also had the deposit issue! I ordered an additional line. We've been customers since 2003 and my credit is spotless yet apparantly it wasn't good enough for them and so I had to answer some identity questions before my order was released to warehouse and only then was my card charged. Unbelievably stupid.

Not sure myself. Ive got a fan discount and always get sent to the business side of att. Maybe thats why. Do u have a fan discount and deal with the business

SAME HERE! The stupid identity thing. Had I not callen in to check up on things I wonder how many days would have gone by before they eventually cancelled the order since I wasn't receiving any communicatiion from them about it at all, no emails, no phonecalls, no texts nothing! So ridiculous!
 
I ordered 32GB Black from AT&T. I have Premier. Ordered at 7:30am EST on 9/14 and I've received both the CSS & Confirmation emails tonight. so I guess I'm in good shape.
 
Yes, you could do that...or do what I did, which was to call AT&T as ask them to send me a NanoSIM card for the right number (which arrived today) that way when the new phone arrives I'll be ready with the right SIM card.
