I also originally ordered from Apple and got the same message and I also had the deposit issue! I ordered an additional line. We've been customers since 2003 and my credit is spotless yet apparantly it wasn't good enough for them and so I had to answer some identity questions before my order was released to warehouse and only then was my card charged. Unbelievably stupid.

Wow that is insane... Yeah I have been with AT&T since 09 and was pretty dumbfound when it said I would need to make a deposit. I tried the process of adding a new line, and then tried upgrading for SNG to see if it would say the same thing. But I did not have to go though all of that. That was the only account issue I ran into.

Though I do not like the "as soon as September 21, 2012" sentence...

For the people with tracking status, Whats the carrier (UPS or Fedex) and what is the reference number? i.e. order number or wireless number
 
why do everyone has various sim in their order but i only have my iPhone in my order list no various sim?

UPS shipment

So my order changed from in progress to pending shipment, which is great.

I have my order shipping to my house and I have to work that day. Any ideas? Can I have them hold it? It will be coming UPS.

I ordered 16gig on the 14th through att premier site @ 8:00am PST
 
As I wrote earlier, I got a CSS email from AT&T and my order status went from back order to 0 in that column. Now I got this email from AT&T premier:

Got the "Your Premier Order" email at 11:21 tonight, but since then I haven't been able to get into order status to see if I went off back order. There are no letters shown in the "pass phrase" box. They probably got sick of me checking every 15 minutes and turned it off for me. :rolleyes:

Nice to see some 64gb blacks come off back order though.
