Confused about what's going on with mine. Ordered in-store at 9:45 ET on 14th, but still on back-order. What is strange is they removed the pending charge on my VISA credit card and re-instated the amount back on my credit limit.

iPhone 5 white ordered 9/14 @ 07:30am EST through Premier.
I received an email immediately after placing the order stating the following:
"Thank you for your purchase from the Premier Online Store. We're pleased with your choice of AT&T as your wireless service provider.

Your iPhone has been reserved and should arrive as soon as Sept 21, 2012.

Your order may be subject to AT&T eligibility and credit requirements. If we have any questions about your eligibility or your order, we will contact you via email.

Reference Web Order Number: 101XXXXXXXXXXXXX

You can view the status of your order in Premier at any time. "

Last night (9-18), I received another email stating the following:
"Dear MYNAMEHERE,

Thank you for your recent purchase from the AT&T Premier Online Store. We're pleased that you chose AT&T as your service provider.

We wanted to confirm that your order is reserved and should arrive as soon as September 21, 2012.

As a reminder, you will receive an email from the AT&T Premier Team confirming shipment along with the carrier information and tracking number to track your shipment online.

Your web order number is: 1010XXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX

Your order(s) will be delivered to the following address:...."
When I go to the AT&T site, it shows that I ordered it the day after.
So this morning, I called and after waiting on hold for 25min I finally got a poor rep who simply said
"the status is being processed by warehouse. we're not able to provide you with any shipping information. we are still blind"
there was no mention of it being "backordered". i asked specifically.
I guess at this point I should just wait patiently to hold my newly purchased aluminium friend.
 
So what you're saying is that you preordered your 4 and it never went off "backordered" status? This might give some people hope that it will ship anyways if identical phones from a later order time might ship without us knowing. Thanks for the info mate!

It's been a while, and I don't recall if it was the 4 or the 4S, but I do remember that one of our orders stayed on "backordered" even on the day we received our phones.

Btw, for the 4, I also remember that 2 of us ordered on Apple and another on AT&T. The AT&T phone came in on Friday (release day) and the 2 Apple phones came in on Saturday (and no we didn't miss the shipment on release.)
 
So pissed. Ordered Friday 8pm. Order status says I ordered 9/17 :(. I ordered over the phone, accepted TnC at 830. CsR told me I accepted them Saturday morning. But my email didn't come until Monday at 345pm. *639# didn't say anything, was updated until Monday. So I kinda of got screwed by 3 days.

As long as I get in the October 4-10th ship timeframe I'll be happy. Can't complain since they waived the 250$ early upgrade fee for me. So im still getting it before November 30th when my upgrade was up.

Perhaps you haven't read through the thread yet but pending charges drop off cards after a certain amount of time. It will either be reauthroized at some point or just charged. Nothing to worry about.

Also, still being on backorder at this point, even if you ordered early, is not necessarily a problem.

I received the same emails, ordered at 7:28am EST through PREMIER and it has shipped with trackingId. You are next.

Similar story......my order has been in "Attention" status on the Premier site. Contacted the stupid Premier group after calling 99 different ATT numbers and failed live chats (where some fool told me I didnt have an order one min and the next min said my phone was in san fran on it way but they don't have a tracking number).

They said my credit card was declined due to a glitch in their system whereby ATT could not handle all the iPhone 5 orders at once. He reprocessed my credit card with no issues and said my order should "ship as soon as possible"...wtf

I asked the meat head when was it going to ship, and he said I dont know. I asked the clown what's the process? Should i expect a tracking number next, will the status on the Premier site change? Nothing...freaking slackers dont know a thing.

If I dont have a tracking number by tomorrow, I'm just going to the store. I ordered my iphone 4s and iPad 3 directly from apple within the first hour of release, but I overslept this time and woke up 30 min after the iphone 5 shipments slipped to 2 weeks.....never ordering from ATT again. Never had one issue with my Apple orders. Maybe apple really is better than the rest...they seem to get this right.



Note: I had a hard time finding the Premier phone number. I had to call 1-800-999-5445 first and they transferred me to the Premier guys. They always give you the number first in case you get disconnected (866 499 8008)...he mentioned that you can only get transferred to the Premier guys due to high call volume and the 866 499 8008 number may not work.

the chat people are even more clueless than the people on the phone. i wouldn't put any stock in info you get from ATT CSRs (seems odd, I know)
 
Got an email last night from Premier... still no tracking number, though.

I wonder if me placing my order(32 black) over the phone had something to do with how fast my order got processed? I ordered kinda late, 8:30am central, and went out of backorder, got all my emails and got shipped faster than a ton of people that ordered WAY before me.

Rep told me the same thin at 930pm, and hour later, I got the email and my status changed to back order=0. The reps are blind to what the fulfillment center is doing, I recommend we not even call them. There's still hope.
 
Still showing back order. Temp hold off credit card and not showing in available credit. Starting to think I should try the Walmart option. I ordered on 9-14 at 9:03 EST at local ATT store. They said I'd have it on the 21st, then I get an email saying 14-21 day ship date. Nothing since.

dude, chill out. these people are not given the proper information by their chain of command. they are almost as out of the loop as you or i. calling them names seems a bit extreme.
 
Mine already shows fedex will be shipping. I do find it odd some of you show shipped but without a tracking number. Some ppl like me show in progress, or processing but with tracking number.
 
I have one phone shipped another not showing "qty backordered" yet still "pending shipment."

The one with a tracking number is the first one ordered, so it may not be processed yet either way I'll have an iPhone on 21SEP12 but my brother may have to wait a minute.

is your card card still pending? i heard some people still had there saying backorder and got there phones on launch date. what time did you order it?
 
Just received my Customer Service Summary email from AT&T, nice to see that they didn’t screw up my service package considering when I bought the phone it said my plan consisted of LTE Unlimited Data with Visual Voicemail and LTE Unlimited Data without Visual Voicemail…and nothing else. My 16GB White is no longer backordered but not marked as shipped yet…sigh..

Wow...bitter much? If there's anyone who ISN'T to blame, it's the poor reps. They can only work with what they have. It's not their fault their systems are crappy and don't talk to each other. Give the guy a break and don't be mean. Karma is a bitch.
 
I can see everyone is busy at work today... lol... Mine is not on back order anymore, but no shipping details as of yet.
 
Ordered Friday, 16gb and 32gb black, at 8:57 ET.

Received CSS email yesterday, and this morning status changed to shipped. No tracking number yet, and nothing when I track by reference on UPS.

I have a question.

After I put in my order through the regular process, I became aware that my daughter is eligible for Premier through her college enrollment. Is there a number that she or I could call--her line is on our family plan--to get any discounts such as waiving activation fee? Thanks.
