You don't. Just don't select anything and it will keep your existing text plan. I'm on the same one and that's what I did. Somewhere later along the process I saw that it was still on the account.
 
I got the same response from CS as everyone else. Seems like everyone in premier is in the same boat. The only strange thing is that it seems that some of us have gotten test charges to our credit card accounts, and others not (I have not)
 
Well, I cancelled my order and will have to take my chances next Friday.

After waiting all day I was finally told that my credit card billing address (my home) and ATT billing address (my office) don't match so they can't process the order. I don't have a single credit card that uses my office address so there is no way to complete the order and, besides, it would be in the system for the time I gave the card not when I ordered so I would get it in 21 days.

The CSR told me that I could order any other phone or device and use the card with no problems but not an iPhone. They say that is Apple's policy.

I'm going to be heading to the most out of the way ATT store I can find next Friday. Probably the same place my brother has gone for the last two iPhones. In both cases he was able to just walk-in and walk out with a phone. It's just a haul for me.

After reading your post I freaked out since I did the same thing. I quickly called my credit card company and changed my credit card billing address (my home) to match my ATT billing address (my office). Hopefully I caught it in time.
 
Delivers 21st?

ok when I preordered my iphone 4s it had came from china, and took a while longer to come to my house. Why and how will it be delievered on the date its released (Sept 21st) as it is stated? I assume it isnt coming from Hong Kong on the first batch they send out???:confused: Just a question and help would be great! Hoping to get it the 21st. I ordered it from apple store app at 3:10 got the email varification and bank is pending transaction!
 
am i the only one who paid for 2 day shipping?
my card has been charged already but on the status site is says backordered?
i ordered it thru att retention dept at 6am ...

Alright, this one is a doozy...

So I ordered my iPhone this morning at 7:00 AM EST after being unsuccessful from 3-4 AM earlier in the morning. Everything went perfectly smooth at 7 AM this morning and I got the Premier member email that everyone else got saying:

"Thank you for your purchase from the Premier Online Store. We're pleased with your choice of AT&T as your wireless service provider.

Your iPhone has been reserved and should arrive as soon as Sept 21, 2012.

Your order may be subject to AT&T eligibility and credit requirements. If we have any questions about your eligibility or your order, we will contact you via email.

Reference Web Order Number: blah blah blah

You can view the status of your order in Premier at any time.

Items may be shipped separately. Preorder items will be shipped as soon as they're available."

I haven't heard anything since, no charges have been made at all, not even the $1 one. Nothing comes up when I check the AT&T order status (through the website, not the email). It still says Pending when I click the link in the email.

I talked to a service rep and they had no record whatsoever of any order, despite me getting the confirmation email and confirmation number. Nothing. As if the order didn't even exist.

I was then given a number to the e-commerce AT&T department. I just talked to the guy and since I am a premier customer he said he couldn't help me and gave me the number for the (closed) premier department.

Anybody have any idea what is going on? Is premier just super non-premier like and messing up?
 
What is preorder processing?

I already see charge of $214.99 in my bank account.

Besides a different iphone/plan, thats exactly what mine says. Has done since 7am this morning when i first ordered it. Nothing has changed. Sucks!!!

Ahhh, finally, someone in the exact same boat as me! I ordered mine at 7am pacific. I have the exact same email... when i check the order page on the at&t website, i get nothing. the only checking i can do is through that 1 single confirmation email after i first ordered it, by clicking that link. I have chatted online to some one and tried calling, but its all automated, and when i type in my phone number and/or ref. web order number, i get nothing aswell.
Credit Card not charged yet either.... its been 13.5 hours for me...very strange.

Please let me know if you know anything... and i shall do the same.

That is odd, cause i ordered through AT&T premier and it said it came included with fedex delivery i think it was overnight or 2 day. And it was no charge.

Honestly, I don't even know what the Premier thing means. My family has been with AT&T for over 10 years now, so I thought it was like a loyalty thing. Anyways, I can't even log in to AT&T premier if I wanted to. Only through the email. This is super weird and frustrating!

Im wondering the same thing. I have only been with at&t since 2008. I don't get why I am on premier, also with no username/password, and therefore no access.

The only thing i can think of that it might be is that I get a discount for working for Marriott International. Maybe they think I have a corporate or business account because of that. Do you work for a company that allows such a discount? cos that that might be it. :confused::confused::confused:

Probably. Sometimes I think AT&T has a Newspeak dictionary that they use for terms like "premier."

My situation is a bit different. I just wanted a non-contract iPhone 5 since I'm recently off contract. AT&T's website was giving me fits when I tried to order it from their site at 3am EDT. I could get past the "we're excited" screen only on Chrome, and it choked on the checkout site. Finally I relented and just ordered the on-contract version from Apple using the iPhone App. I figured I'd get the 5 and have 30 days to figure things out. This morning I got my confirm from Apple that it's delivering next week and gave AT&T one more shot. Since I "upgraded" 3 hours earlier I was finally able to order the 5 at the full price. I got the confirmation right away, but I can tell my card hasn't even gotten the pre-authorization for $1, much less the full amount. It also lists the status as "pending."

I don't care too much, though. As long as I get the no-contract version before m return period is up on the one I ordered from Apple, I'm OK. The plan is to activate the new SIM card next Friday, use my new iPhone 5 until the one from AT&T arrives, ask AT&T for the unlock I'm entitled to, swap the SIMs and then return the one I bought from Apple so that I'm back off contract.

Yeah I don't know. My mom is an educator for a public school system as well as the local university - maybe that has something to do with it (she is the central line on our plan).

Anyway, I have a not so exciting update...my premier order status (through the email link) just went to "pre-order processing." Again, I have no idea what this means or if it is substantial in any way, but it is some kind of progress I guess. My credit card still hasn't been charged.

The automated system will indicate that all orders are "backordered" at this point. Don't Panic and keep reading.

This is the same thing as for the iPhone 3GS, 4 and 4S and there is a very simple reason. AT&T has not received thier "carrier" shipments from Apple. They will be receiving bulk shipments from Apple at their distribution hubs, these bulk shipments will be broken down to fill your individual AT&T pre-orders. :D

So I was able to get upgrade pricing by using someone's upgrade on my family plan (not my number).

When the device comes, how can I make sure my account becomes active and not the other persons?

You're automatically in AT&T's Premier if you have a FAN account. That is, you are receiving monthly discounts because of where you work. With that said, I don't know what the difference is between a regular account and a Premier account. What is obvious is that they use different systems. You can't find your order because you're doing it through the regular AT&T Wireless page.

And yeah, I'm in the same boat. I ordered at 7AM PST when the site still shows an estimated delivery date of Sept. 21st. Got the e-mail confirming my order but my order status through the provided link still shows PENDING. No charge on my CC.

Just checked my bank account... I got a pending charge for $299 from at&t!
Things are looking up! :)
 
iPhone 5 16GB just changed from Pending to Processing.

Ordered 7AM Pacific. I originally had pre-order with Apple at 12AM, but they could never verify my AT&T info. I was done pre-ordering with AT&T in about 3 minutes
