ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

idk. ive seen people who ordered their phones at 3pm already get their confirmation numbers. common sense tells me i shouldn't have anything to worry about... but in true fanboy fashion, i wont relax till i see backordered change to 0.
 
So, here's a fun one...

I initially ordered from Verizon. Once I found out about the simultaneous voice/data mess, I cancelled it to stay with AT&T. My AT&T order went through no problem as a subsidized upgrade.

Well, my "cancelled" Verizon order just shipped. The plot thickens...

If anyone can provide any insight, that would be great. Here is my situation.

I ordered from my local att store shortly after it opened 9am EST, well before the cut off time. My CC was charged then, and i accepted the terms and conditions. Shortly after I received the confirmation email saying my phone would ship in 14-21 business days. Checking my att status page almost hourly, its still pending shipment and quantity backordered = 1. But im seeing other people who ordered after me get their back order lifted. To complicate matters, the charge was dropped off my CC this morning. Seems like im not getting it friday.. anyone in the same boat? It was a 16 gb white one btw.

Not exactly. I have my 32GB Black showing as shipped but my two other orders for 16GB White are still processing with B/O as 0. I'm not worried but maybe its just the system on their end thats barely keeping up with updating the status.

FYI: I preordered through Premier 8:30am EST. Showed up on the regular at&t site as if I ordered on the 15th. The system syncs slowly.

black 16GB. all i ever got from ATT was an email confirming my order which said it would deliver on 9/21 unless there were issues with inventory, etc. then i got a vague text from ATT a few hours later that my order had processed. thats all. never got anything else.

never got a CSS like everyone else.

Thanks for an answer! Nice that you can get emails...ATT rep spelled my email wrong which they then told me could not be changed once I realized. So even if these emails are coming, I'll never get them!

Yes my situation is exactly the same, but again, there is nothing that can really be done except be patient and see what happens.

Exactly my situation except I still show pending pre-charge on my CC.

Actually it's the same characters. I went through the same backorder hell last year... had to cancel everything and picked the 4s up at the ATT store on release day after work.

This year the same. Will probably cancel and pick it up at the store. :mad:
 
Region of US?

Is there possibly some correlation to region?

I'm in the midwest
Ordered through 'regular' online site
Order completed 6:16 AM CDT on the 14th
1x32 GB Black + 1x32 GB White
Both still listed as backordered and "In Progress"
got initial confirmation email and text, nothing since.

For what its worth, when I chatted with a rep, she told me not to worry that anyone who ordered before 11:30 (different time than what I've seen before) would get theirs SHIPPED on Friday.

I ordered mine by phone at 10:00CST. I also ordered one through apple for my wife. Both charges were on there until yesterday morning and then they disappeared. The apple one popped back up. I called ATT about the disappearing charge and what was explained to me was that it was a temp hold. If you call your bank, they will probably tell you that they see the charges.

Im still at the backorder stage as well.

haha. i hope you're right. i go on vacation next week and i took friday off so i could be home to accept the phone and wanted to take it on vacation with me! dont want it delivered while i'm out of town.

I'm hoping you're right. I'll see if I can stop by after work to get the 64GB Black phone at an AT&T store. If I can, I'm hoping they cancel my existing order. So frustrating. The only thing keeping me at AT&T is the unlimited data plan I have and being able to call and surf on the web...
 
What method has been working for people in coming up with their tracking info on UPS and FedEx? I've tried my phone number as the reference number and both return nothing, but I know it's shipped.
 
I ordered 4 phones between 11:30 PM & 11:50 PM (EST) 09/14/2012.

What date shall I expect? Right now all 4 are backordered (pending shipment).

Funny thing is, I figured we would have a few recurring characters including myself. All of the phones I ordered and helped order (3 4s, 1 4S) all came in on time (ok 2 came in the day after release day and those were from Apple...)
