early bird gets the early worm indeed. In my my case, waking up 1:45AM last Friday to pre-order this phone when it went live @ 2AM on AT&T website worked!!

JUST GOT MY SHIPPING UPDATE from Fed EX! Boo yeah!!

I would remove your personal info like your tracking number and stuff.
 
Why is mine showing like this? is it a good sign. it shows my ship date and tracking and stuff but why still in progress and ship no is 0

anyone else credit or debit card charge back in there accounts?

Yes, most banks release a hold if the merchant does not finalize the transaction. Usually 3-5 days depending on the bank. AT&T will run the transaction again. For my iPhone 4, it was a week or 2 after I received it.
 
Your story is the exact same as mine.

I ordered at 8am PST on Friday, got the email saying 14-21 days. Quantity backordered went to 0 on Monday, and just got my tracking information this morning, even though it still says In Progress.

My 32 black ordered 9/14 7am ish went off back order last night and status was changed to shipped in the last hour. No tracking number yet.
 
This makes sense for a couple of reasons - first we heard from teh other thread that AT&T had a ****-load of 16gb already in their fulfillment warehouses in the US, but that other phones were coming from China.

Plus - from reading almost all the pages of this thread for the last 24 hours (not recommended for your mental health btw) it seems like most people who have reported getting off back-order and getting shipping info were 16gb or 32gb phones.

i call att and they say that there's no way it will arrive on friday!!because that's when they will start to ship to the people!! :confused:

You got Punked by a rep trying to get you off the phone. A lot of people's phones have already shipped.
 
basically the last time i order thru ATT. next time I'll wake up at 3AM and order through Apple. I only have myself to blame

He Bs'd you to get you off the phone regarding the 21st confirmation email. Trust me, I've been through 5 or 6 CSRs right now. first they tell you the order is ok, then when you push them and tell them you can see the status is back ordered they back track.

Anyone know of any way to get beyond the front line CSR? I can't seem to get a manager or supervisor to take a call. I just keep getting they will call me back.

I tried. I got all the way to the supervisor of the Premier Techincal Rep. They couldn't help me. I'll be waiting just like. Maybe I'll stop by after work on Friday to see if they'll have some in stock. Once I get that, I'll cancel my Premier order...
 
nop...just ship date and carrier....i ordered mine at 12:15am pacific too.i'm sure you'll get yours friday

I have no ship date.. just in progress and qty order 1. I hope we get more info soon so we know as buyers if we need to take the day off and sign for the package.
 
I ordered my 32GB black at around 12:10am PDT on 9/14 just after pre-orders went live. I'm a regular customer.

I received a couple of emails shortly thereafter stating that my iPhone 5 will be delivered on 9/21.

Sometime in the middle of the night I was assigned a FedEx tracking number with a shipping date of 9/16. My CC charge is still pending.

Rolling along smoothly......
