Why is mine showing like this? is it a good sign. it shows my ship date and tracking and stuff but why still in progress and ship no is 0

Mine shows the same thing. That means IT hasnt left their shipping hub YET. Fed Ex scans items being shipped before it gets loaded in trucks, and when the truck leaves for delivery, their system updates and then our shipping will go LIVE.

It will come Friday. Dont you worry. :D

Getting this error now. I guess update in progress. Hopefully this is a good news for more people (me being one of them :) )

Ordered through Premier, 7am Pacific 9/14..... 32GB Black.

Mine says shipped, but with no tracking number yet...... there's hope for us Premier people yet! :):):):):)
 
I have cancelled the order and will be picking up in store ( i had a local non corporate location put one on hold) i have received a bill credit b/c of all the horrible cs from at and t and all the lies/ misleading info

order originaly placed about 11:30 est was told i would receive the phone the 21st

i will but not from at and t
 
Has anyone who preordered a 64 GB black on a non premier account received their backorder to 0 or the shipping info? I ordered it at 9:33am and received the confirmation email at 10:48am Central Standard time.
 
has anyone with order snafus resulting in an order date reset (i.e. ordered on 9/14, but later found out their order was messed up and received a new order date under the same order number) had their order go off backorder??
 
I ordered 16GB BLK 12:30 pm EDT on Friday and it look alike mine is shipped. I don't know why everyone woke up all early. :confused:

Nope....i'll keep checking for it though because I don't believe a word ATT says about cutoff times and what not.

Think about it....how could all models and colors of the iphone have been sold out at the exact same time on 9/14. Makes no sense. I think the 16 GB models sell out first and then 32 GB and 64 GB models. Oh and it seems the black version is more popular this time around.

I ordered Friday evening. My order date now shows 9/17 it's absolutely stupid. Originally it showed 9/14 then pushed back to 9/17. I'm still back ordered and expect to be for 2 weeks. I got fuqqqqed. Never again will I order anything over the phone. Guess that's what I get for getting my 250 fee waived. At least I'll be ready for the iPhone 6 rather then have to deal with this terrible early upgrade crap again. Even tho my early upgrade got screwed. I have an iPhone 4 I bought October 5, 2010, yet I still wasnt eligible for early upgrade. Explain that one? Cause csr couldn't and just gave me an oh well that's what our system has so were sorry. Got the royal screw job from them. Gonna be sure to call and ask them to waive me 36$ activation fee for the AWFUL inconvenience.
 
To everyone saying people are complaining too much, listen here... Just the fact that there are 3800 posts on this thread asking about this proves the point that AT&T has 100% completely dropped the ball on this. You don't see this with Amazon, or even Apple.

the Apple thread has 180 posts right now. all that's proven by the 3800 posts in this thread is that we all get a little crazy and obsessive and entitled when it comes to the latest iteration of our awesome phones

It's not about getting the iPhone on day 1. I wouldn't mind standing in line to wait for it. But the whole point of a preorder is to make the experience less stressful
if it's not about getting it on day 1, why are you stressed? just cancel your order and buy it later, or from another carrier. you can even back out of your contract in the first month or two if you don't like AT&T.

look, I get it, I'm on the edge of my seat too. and of course it would be nicer if AT&T had a smoother process for shipping out hundreds of thousands to millions of phones on one day. but just take a step back and try to picture the scale of what's going on here. this is the biggest consumer electronics release of the year and will retain that distinction until the 5S comes out in 2013, and while the poor guys at FedEx and UPS put in incredible efforts and overtime to ship 2 million packages on one day we're all sitting on the edge of our seats demanding to know WHERE EXACTLY my TINY COMPUTERPHONE is in the world, I need to know RIGHT NOW, jeez

we'll all get our phones. and then we'll sell them in two years when they're obsolete, and buy new ones. and sell those two years after that. and eventually Apple will die. even AT&T will someday dissolve.

and in the days when we wander an unholy wasteland searching for horribly disfigured rodent carcasses, bodies of our countrymen, anything to keep the gnawing hunger at bay, I will briefly recall how excited I was about the iPhone 5 and chuckle to myself in disbelief, just before vultures descend upon my frail body to pick away what little flesh remains and I succumb to the cold

Actually even though I don't believe what AT&T is saying, their idea of "cut-off" time isn't wrong. A "cut-off" time is a time where they actually know that they are NOT sold out on any of the models. It's just a hypothetical line to separate the orders. This will be helpful to them internally. They can confidently say anyone before 9AM PST / 12 noon EST will get a phone and the leftovers will be given to the rest of the people. They are just palying safe, that's it! The "cut-off" time doesn't at all mean aybody ordering after that will not get the phone on 9/21. It simple means, anybody ordering BEFORE that, will surely get their phone provided other things went well e.g. payment and stuff).

So chill :)
 
Ordered at 8:45 AM mine just changed to order on 9-15 and shows backordered.

It also shows 64 GB Black and I ordered a 16 White so something is very wrong.


Oh nevermind it was showing the wrong order number... Weird I had the order number right. Hmm

I ordered 15 minutes after pre-orders started and still show 'Processing'. I do have zero backorder, but no shipping activity yet.

Same thing with me. Black 64gb that is still processing. I ordered it at 7:50am on the 14th. Maybe they are just getting around to these later today. My confirm email says I would receive it on the 21st.
 
Man that's frustrating! I ordered 7pm PDT I'm still showing backordered (1) and 9/14 order date. Why would they push yours to 9/17? Was there any issues that came up when they pre-authorized the payment?

holy moly ... i just checked my order status online twice, and had 2 different orders information come up that were not mine. weird.

it looks like all of us fools checking obsessively are messing with their system. ;)
 
Mine still says preparing for shipping. I ordered 64gb black at 12:10 am Friday. My buddy has the same status and he ordered same time as me? Will they make the delivery by Friday?

I am in your exact scenario. I ordered Friday around 7PM EST, due to incompetence from ATT. I was authorized to have my upgrade date pushed up 3 weeks several days before the preorder release. Everything was noted on my account, the only stipulation was I had to call and I couldn't order online. So I called on friday at around 6 AM. After being on hold for 3 hours I got through to a rep who refused to push up my upgrade date by 3 weeks. I spoke to her supervisor who also refused. Obviously at that point, being at work I couldn't call back or spend much longer on the phone to flip out. Instead I just called when I got home that night and the ATT rep apologized for the people who I spoke to that morning and said they should not have handled themselves that way. So I got my order through, like you did, but now I most likely have to way 2 weeks to get it. I'll keep my hopes up of getting it earlier though.

***I have the 9/17 order date as well, even though i ordered it on 9/14. Makes no sense.
