Just got off the phone with a Premiere CSR who tried to convince me I ordered at 11:30PM on Friday night when in fact I ordred at 10AM EST. This company makes billions from selling the iPhone and services but cant put money back into their logistics operations so that events like this do not occur. Yelling at the CSR does no good when I only really want to yell at AT&T and their inability to think about the customer in any respect. I informed the CSR that I will be pulling my five plus lines and data plans as I can not support a company that can be this inept. Its infuriating to have to babysit a process to find out any kind of information whatsoever. If it wasn't for other members on this forum pointing out portals to see actual shipping information I would still be completely in the dark. Def not worth the stress and next year I will more then likely be standing happily in line early in the AM with coffee in hand.
 
I worked shipping and receiving for my Father in law. If it has a "non-working" tracking number that means the label has been printed but Fedex hasn't seen the box yet to scan it. As soon as the box is released to Fedex and Fedex scans it the tracking will work.

As soon as we print the labels here at work we get a tracking #. We can send that to the customer automatically, but the packages don't get picked up until after 4:30PM.


So that explains it! I have a tracking number, but it doesn't say 'shipped'. When I pull up the tracking number, it says something about not having information except "ship to" city/state and that the label printing is 9/20. I'm 100000% sure I'm fine.
 
Does when my confirmation email came in have anything to do with when I ordered my phone?

I ordered in store at 10:30 am CST, but my confirmation email came in at 7:55 PM CST..

Does it matter?
 
This thread is filled with people who are complaining because at&t messed up. Guess what, if you waited to order your phone after 1m people placed pre-orders, it's not AT&T's fault. If your card was declined or needed approval, guess what, it's not AT&T's fault. If you opened a new account and needed to verify your account, guess what? It's not AT&T's fault.

There were 2 million preorders and most have already shipped. If you're not in that group, stop filling this thread up with stupid complaints about waiting for 3 hours. Next year, do it from the Apple site.

AT&T isn't supposed to have a system setup for a bunch of morons who feel like checking their status 15 times a day just to feel a little bit better about their order. If you were the CEO of a company, would you spend millions of dollars to update a system that is still going to field complaints from millions of brats who ordered at 3pm instead of 3am? Get over it, if it didn't ship by now, there's a good chance it's not going to and you won't be able to show off your phone to your friends until October.
 
Im thinking that unfortunately it means nothing, I ordered my phone at 9:00 PM on the 14th (I know..). And i received that same email. Im still on backorder.

i am in the same boat, ordered close to 9am and the status still says backordered...i'm thinking that it's not gonna happen on the 21st. :/
 
This annoys me. Ordered an hour before you and I'm backordered. Were you premier? Which phone?

someone posted earlier that they ordered 3PM ET and already got their confirmation. And I ordered at 9:15AM ET and still say backordered. its really ridiculous. ATT sucks
 
Woot, I just checked again with the other order link (1 page back) and I now have a tracking #!!!

It still says In Progress Though, but I now can track it!!!
 
I ordered 2 iPhones on September 14th at 10:40 a.m. ET both a 16 gigabyte and a 32 gigabyte both black.

Initially both phones were backordered, but yesterday early afternoon both phones were listed as no longer backordered.

This morning when I check the status, it showed that the phones had shipped but there was no tracking information provided. I tried both tracking sites and neither of them have the tracking number.

What concerns me, is I checked with my credit card and my card has not been charged for the phones yet.

This order was placed through the standard AT&T website. I'm crossing my fingers that they arrive on Friday!
 
has anyone with order snafus resulting in an order date reset (i.e. ordered on 9/14, but later found out their order was messed up and received a new order date under the same order number) had their order go off backorder??

I ordered on 9/14 and they reset me to 9/17. Mine still shows 1 on backorder.

any body that lives in Texas (and has their order shipping to a Texas address) order from the AT&T (non-premier) site prior to 7am CDT showing shipped or have tracking numbers?

Its not our fault we all woke up early to get what we wanted.

Non premier order still nothing

Ordered at 6:15 AM Eastern time. Just says processing but I got the CSS email this morning. Anyone else in the same boat?

I ordered Friday evening. My order date now shows 9/17 it's absolutely stupid. Originally it showed 9/14 then pushed back to 9/17. I'm still back ordered and expect to be for 2 weeks. I got fuqqqqed. Never again will I order anything over the phone. Guess that's what I get for getting my 250 fee waived. At least I'll be ready for the iPhone 6 rather then have to deal with this terrible early upgrade crap again. Even tho my early upgrade got screwed. I have an iPhone 4 I bought October 5, 2010, yet I still wasnt eligible for early upgrade. Explain that one? Cause csr couldn't and just gave me an oh well that's what our system has so were sorry. Got the royal screw job from them. Gonna be sure to call and ask them to waive me 36$ activation fee for the AWFUL inconvenience.

I had to order mine over the phone for the same reason. Wonder if they're punishing us?
 
For those who ordered in-store with shipping to the store, and still show back-ordered, I suggest stopping at the store sometime tomorrow if the status does not change before then. I suspect the order system may think the store will provide local stock even though the sales rep told me it would come with my name on it..... hard to believe all these orders are getting processed WELL after I ordered.

To you sir:

1) That's what you're going to find in this thread. Leave if you don't like it.

2) No, I do not expect him to spend millions of dollars. But I do expect more comminication than this, even if it's generic information that applies to all customers, and less confusion about things like "Do I need to fill out a TandC or not?" and "What does the 1 in backordered mean?" And I also expect the regular old website to be clear and concise, which it is clearly not, as there are THREE different places that provide different types of information as to the status of your phone, and most people dont know about 2 of them until they arrive on the thread. Just... a more concise and communicative process. That's what I would expect.

3) I'm guessing you can't show your phone off till October either. Bitter bitter bitter.
