Just went to backorder 0. I ordered at 730am PST, but had to call to confirm my identity before my order was processed. I didn't get to do that until 1030am PST. Hope this helps some people.
you would think. but i ordered at 9:15 and only got 1 email from ATT (AT 9:52AM), A text message a few hours later (so random) and that was all. stuck on back-ordered since then. idk.

I ordered my 16g black at 9:03 on the 14th at an ATT store in FL. The rep assured me the phone would be at my house on the 21st. I went home and got an email at 9:24 saying my phone would ship in 14 to 21 days. Currently my status is back order. Go figure.
I ordered mine at 9:15am CST on 9/14 and it switched to backorder 0 last night. It is a white 16GB. Still hasn't switched to shipped yet, I hope it does it soon. My CC info went through fine and it went away sometime last night, so hopefully thats a sign. I'm in Tennessee btw.

maybe att isn't done batch slapping all iPhones with shipping labels. i'm guessing tonight, after labeling the boxes, they'll slap us with tracking numbers. batch slap.

they hacked your sister in laws account and they found out she's drop-dead gorgeous. that explains why.

How likely this is to happen to others? I do not know.
My store told me no. I orginally ordered at the store and was told it would be a week. When I got home an email said 14-21 days. I called back and the salesperson said yep, it would be the latter. She said they would have them in the store this Friday, but that I couldn't cancel my previous order.
Really poor customer service. Typical ATT.
I haven't really been following the thread, but here's what I've got. My confirmation email from AT&T was at 2:15 AM CST, and my card was authorized almost immediately.
I told myself I wouldn't get hysterical about it this time, but I'm seeing people who ordered several hours after I did who already have tracking numbers.

I just called them. I also show backordered. I ordered at 7:13am on the 14th. She said if you ordered before 9am central time on the 14th, you'll get it on the 21st. She did say that with such massive fulfillment, the label printing will go up until the last minute.
She finally told me that order is "at the warehouse awaiting shipping" even though it says "backordered" online. I'm going to trust her and chill.

i've found that when you call them they tell you everything is fine. if you talk to them in chat they tell you how it really is, lol.

by the way, anyone know how much the 16gb iphone is without the upgrade?
Great news for you! Mine still shows backorder. I just wish I could know when it was coming so I can make arrangements at work. I don't want FedEx or whoever just leaving the phone on my doorstep nor do I want them to not deliver and come back the following Monday. I'd have no problem with the phone coming on Saturday but I don't know if they do that.
