For those of you who have a status of "shipped" but no tracking number, have you tried tracking by reference in the UPS or Fedex sites? I've read that it works for a lot of people, yet when I tried it didnt work for me. :(

I tried it as well. Don't feel left out, nothing for me either.

I don't think so.... All they do is read a script... "They will ship on 9/21", "It will be 2 to 3 weeks", "If you ordered before 9AM you will be fine", "sorry there is nothing I can do", "it must be Apple's fault", "it's a long trip from China" ... blah, blah, blah.

Actually they are temporary employees reading off of queue cards. Waste of time.

Orders finally shipping

Hope this helps some:

Ordered 10:15-10:20 EST, 1 White 32GB and 1 Black 32GB (2 separate orders).
I am premier, ordered off of premier website.
Online order date shows as 9/15, cc charge pending as of 9/15.

Last night around 10:00pm EST my orders finally came off backorder. Black first, and white phone about an hour later.

Around 1:00 AM I received auto emails as a follow up to order. No additional information other than what I already knew (I have a phone reserved, may receive by 9/21).

Today the white one showed "shipped" (no tracking listed yet) around 3:50 EST and black one just showed up as "Shipped" about 10 minutes ago. Still haven't received tracking information, but am completely confident I will get phone Friday.

Oh, and I did a live chat on ATT website yesterday and the lady confirmed that I was definitely going to get my phone between 10/5-10/14 with certainty after reviewing my orders. She even told me that their previous statement of orders before 11:00 am EST getting shipped was no longer valid because the demand was higher than expected. I barely made the 11:00 cut off, and am getting my phone. Don't believe what they tell you. They have no clue.

Oh, and she also told me that they would not have any additional stock in stores, only preorders. So those looking to stand in line, not sure if that is legit or not.

Okay, thanks! That gives me hope. What time did he order? and when did it change? The confirmation email which I got right after placing my order said I'd get my phone on the 21st but I've only received that email.
 
So basically from what I'm hearing, If the order status page says 9/15 (even though I ordered on the 14th at 5 am) I'm not getting it friday?

Not true. Same situation for me (ordered 9/14 7AM EST) and my status is updated to "shipped" as of this afternoon. What is your back order status. 0?
 
I placed my order on sunday, and I received a confirmation email from AT&T last night regarding my order. It says 14-21 days. Is there anyway that I will get it sooner rather than in october?
 
Can anyone who recently had their order go off of backorder share the beginning of their order #? Just wondering if there's a correlation.

I've been in backorder since 6:16 AM CDT on the 14th (non-premier, online). Order # begins with 1612

My order # start with <1100.
 
I was billed $1 the minute I finished ordering my phone (I guess that $1 held my phone? Idk?) but I was billed my full payment within a day or so....so i am not sure how the whole billing thing is being worked out! I read a lot of things about that situation and it kind of has me worried!

the confirmation email i received last friday stated that my card would not be fully charged until shipment. i wouldn't have a problem because i have enough to cover the charge, but i warned my mom to make sure (since it was her birthday weekend), to not make any big purchases, so her phone could be paid for.
 
Just when I was giving up hope, my backorder status flipped to 0 some time in the last couple of hours. Still no shipping info, but that'll be my dramatic freak-out for tomorrow. :)

i ordered by phone and was told my order didnt go in until much later than 11:35 est 9/14 anyone else have a similar experience
 
So ATT screwed me up again. I just got the email that my phone will here 14-21 business days. I called them..since I ordered mine on 9/14 and they said that they "ran out" out of the inventory.

I guess I'll try my luck at apple store.
 
Ordered around 2:30ish Central Time on Friday morning- I just got shipping confirmation email with a tracking number this afternoon. It was shipped with 2 day UPS shipping.

Any questions, let me know. It was a 32GB Black model.

Also, this was a Premier order and starts with 1019.
 
I got a tracking number for my 32 black I ordered over the phone sometime last night. Card still hasn't been charged and there is no info on the Fedex site when I look up the tracking #. I still am not sure if I'm getting my phone on Friday but I'll stay confident I will. I ordered it over the phone at 8:30am central time on a regular account.
 
Ordered a 32GB Black @ about 9:30 PST over the phone. Currently shows "shipping" but no tracking data.

They initially told me 14-21 business days, so I'm hoping this is a good sign to a Friday delivery!

Same here! Ordered 9/14 @ 9:30AM EST order status at ATT says ordered 9/15 and SHIPPED.

EDIT:

Just checked the original email you get that has the link for "check status", clicked it and it states mine has shipped and I have a UPS tracking # but it's not in the system yet.
 
Just an update.

My order is Status is still listed as In Progress. I have a supposed 9/17/12 shipment date and the carrier is UPS with a tracking number starting with 1Z1W**** which when I click on it takes me to a page that states the "A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated." It is scheduled for pickup on 9/20/12 from somewhere and it is scheduled to deliver 9/21/12 via UPS Next Day Air Saver.

I am have an AT&T Premier FAN Business Account and I ordered the 64BG Black iPhone 5 at around 6:27a.m. EST from the Business Online Site and I live in Michigan.

Hope this covers any questions and bleeds some hope to others. :D

This is a shot in the dark...but can you look at the recent e-mail that confirms your reservation and see if the 10-digit number appended to your weborder number has any correlation to your tracking number?

Unfortunately it doesn't. I tried to see if I could pull it up by using the UPS track by reference search. I used multiple combinations, but no luck.
 
- Iphone 5 Black ordered thru regular AT&T website approx 1pm EST on 9/14. Website still stated 9/21 delivery, however confirmation email received immediatly stated 14-21 days for delivery.

- Qty Backordered changed from 1 to 0 overnight last night.

- CSS email received today (9/19) @ 10:44am EST.

Hoping for more updates tonight and to get for friday. No shipped status yet, and unable to find thru UPS/FEDEX.
