ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Update...

I ordered yesterday, 7:45am PST through the AT&T Premier site.
All day it said "Pending"...
Sometime last night (8-10pm PST?) it changed to "Preorder Processing"...
This morning, as of 8:30am PST my order on Premier site still says "Preorder Processing" and on the regular AT&T site under My Orders, there is nothing.
However, (this is the kinda bizarre part), my card has a pending charged $199.99 twice (for two phones) from AT&T... it's weird, though, because it seems as if most people have charges for the entire amount plus shipping, but my charges are exactly $199.99 each.

Kinda sad that "My Orders" on the regular AT&T website shows no orders found.

Finally got through and placed order 6:15am est/3:15am pst
Immediately received confirmation email with "as soon as Sept 21"
Credit card charged a few hours after that - 9:23am EST - for full amount plus tax
Order on premier and regular AT&T site says processing (said this immediately after purchase)
Nothing since then. May have sent a text, but I won't know until tomorrow night (on vacation in Caribbean and no service, just wifi)

Really hope it comes on Friday. I'm leaving on Sunday to go to Europe for a month (literally) for work. I'll get screwed on my gazelle trade in. And will have to wait a month to get the phone. Boo.

I was told last night by an ATT rep I spoke with that all orders placed before 9am CST would be received on the the 21st. He said his supervisors came in and told everyone that as of 9am CST yesterday that all their initial launch stock was gone.

UGH...does that mean we don't get our phones on the 21st....booo. I'm in the same position as you, except I ordered at 6:45. I received one email, but not the final....'congratulations' emails that I hear are circulating.

really not sure... i keep on reading here on these forums that AT&T will get their shipments earlier than sep21, is this the case with the 4S last year, anyone?

but yeah, that's what he told me on the phone and i placed the order and was processed sep 14 so im hopefull i'll be getting it on the 21st even tho the rep told me otherwise.

Did you notice on your attachment that the order date says Sept 15 and not the 14th? I have the same date as well. Ordered 6:45am PST 9/14; Premier with the same statuses on both Premier and AT&T's regular site.

Oh..and I have the same phone images as well. If THAT's AT&T's version of the new iphone 5, maybe I should have skipped the upgrade for this year! lol!

a caompy will always say an up to date... If you ordered at 6am you will probably not make the 1st round... but honestly you will probably get it the following week.

My option for 1st day is now to go and camp outside of apple lol...

I think you're needlessly scaring her. Quite frankly, NO ONE can give her or anyone a definite answer on what's going on. To say that if your order didn't ship by now means you won't get it on release date is both premature and irrational given how much time is left until the 21st. I find it HIGHLY doubtful AT&T was able to process enough orders to ship out their entire first batch of stock on day ONE. And even if they did, I don't see how they would not get more shipments every day allowing them to process more orders each day. I mean my guess is as good as anyone's, but I'm just trying to approach this from a logical standpoint.

So, this kinda makes sense to me - cause when I was placing my order on Premier, just before I hit submit, it said delivery 9/24. I haven't seen that date anywhere since though.

So you want it to go from "In Progress" to "Shipped". I doubt it will change until sometime after Monday.

I think it all depends on the date in the email they sent you. I would imagine that it will stay "In Progress" until it ships, regardless of your ship date.

My email says: "Your iPhone 5 will be delivered on 9/21/12."

I ordered mine from AT&T's site at around 12:10am PST.

When I spoke to a CS agent yesterday, they said before 11:15 AM EST would be fine. Of course this presumably does not apply to premier members...

Still Says Status Pending

I have been without a phone for over 2 months and was waiting for this iphone 5 since. Now that its here, I ordered my brand new individual line iphone 5 thru AT&T around 6 AM (EST) on 9/14, and the status still says "Pending". I am afraid this might be due to my credit score. Although I got my first credit card about 2 months ago and I have always paid my bills on time, I dont have much credit history. Does anyone know if this will preclude me from getting my phone?

Same boat for me as a lot of other premier orders. Ordered 2 phones at 9:40 and 9:45 a.m. EST on the 14th. Got 2 emails of order received immediately with the "as soon as the 21st" language. No texts or other messages yesterday and the order stayed as pending through the day. Overnight, it switched to processing and the entire amount (including tax) was charged sometime after midnight. Now, on the site under orders, it shows my orders as being on the 15th rather than the 14th. If I go through the email link, it shows them as being done on the 14th. Confusing? Oui!

See i looked at your chart/pic, and i am beginning to think that this will happen to me and alot of ppl here. It will go from in progress to shipped by lets say Wed or Thurs next week. And will not change till then. Although I have a question? It doesn't say on that thing preparing to ship? How is some ppl getting that status if it isn't listed as one of the status definitions?

I ordered mine at 8:30am CST over the phone and never got an email with a shipping date, but did get other emails about my order. I called ATT and they said you don't get a confirmation email if you order the phone. Kinda weird.

When I went through the order process, I remember reading that my card would not be charged until shipment. Here I'm reading that people are charged right away? Maybe different states have different laws in this regard?

I'm in MO and my card was charged the second I placed the order over the phone.

I was told the same the but I don't but a great deal of stock in it right now.

ATT is, of course a huge multi-divisional company. Typically in these type of organizations -- maybe you work for one and know first hand -- communication between divisions and even offices of the same division in different locations is fairly poor. The phone reps are usually the last to know anything -- recall when ATT publicly announced they would start unlocking iPhones one Sunday. People called on Sunday only to get the "ATT can't unlock iPhones" from the phone reps. No one told them and they didn't even bother to read their own press releases!

ATT's ordering system is antiquated too. Compare it to say Amazon or Apple, or really any bona fide retail company. When you order online they know stock by the second and can tell you exactly when you will receive it. OTOH when ATT's side boasted "Delivers on 9/21," I'm pretty sure it was only a graphic, which, of course, stayed up, well past when ATT probably sold out of launch inventory.

That's why this thread is here; to pass along info as we see it. I don't think we are going to get any solid shipping info from ATT until our orders are posted as "shipped." But ATT has delivered same day w/ previous iPhones so no reason to believe it won't be the case with some this time. Question is which some as we really don't know when the cut off order time was, only when ATT announced it.

I have the status "processing" as well. I'm ok with getting it next Friday. However, if it is delayed thats when I would be feeling like crap. Like in the picture.
