I'm wondering what state do you people live in where you are already being charged before shipment? When I went through the order process, I remember reading that my card would not be charged until shipment. Here I'm reading that people are charged right away? Maybe different states have different laws in this regard?


I'm from CA.

I live in CA as well. I have a pending charge on my card, but it won't go through until my order ships (just like it stated when I placed the order). Some CC companies allow you to see pending charges, some do not. I'm with Citibank, and pending charges show up in my online account. If you're really that curious, you could always call your CC company and ask them if you have a pending charge from AT&T on your account.
 
Im laughing at all the people who didn't care enough to wake up super early like myself to place my order. And yet they still feel like they deserve their phones on the same day as mine.

That isn't necessarily true. I woke up and was one of the first to log on and order my phone within the first hr or so. And mine still says processing. So some of us did wake up early, and still are stuck at processing, instead of ready to ship.
 
I have the status "processing" as well. I'm ok with getting it next Friday. However, if it is delayed thats when I would be feeling like crap. Like in the picture.

That's how i was 2 hrs ago, my cc has been hit with 209 dollars :eek: and in the premier site change to "preorder processing", i ordered yesterday at 7:45am EST. Don't stress out, hopefully they don't screw it.
 
AT&T is having issues today

So my order has switched to the dreaded "attention," saying that my CC# cannot be verified. I suspect this is because I switched my ATT billing address to my work address, so I could personally sign for the iPhone on delivery. Even though I put in my correct billing address for the CC info, this may be confusing them.

So I called the premier customer care line today. After waiting on hold for 30+ minutes, I got a message that their "system was currently down" and I should call back in 1-2 hours. Just poking around on Apple and ATT's websites now, I find that I cannot check my eligibility (just for the heck of it), I get an error message. Obviously, the big blue Death Star is having some issues today.

Will call back later today. But if a CC snafu delays my shipment past the 21st, I will be furious. I've been on the phone with ATT five times this week, getting them to give a bill credit as an offset for the early upgrade fee. While I'm glad they finally gave me $150, their systems suck out loud. If this delays delivery, I suppose I'll cancel the pre-order and go camp out on the 21st. But really don't want to do that, that was the whole point in pre-ordering. Sigh.

I feel you, mine was in the "attention" status couple of hrs ago, it just changed to "preorder processing", don't dispair yet. If your trying to call the premier dept, it's only open monday to friday, they suck:cool:

Unable to verify credit card number. Please call 1-866-499-8008 Monday-Friday 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. Saturday 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. or Sunday 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. ET.*
 
I think you're needlessly scaring her. Quite frankly, NO ONE can give her or anyone a definite answer on what's going on. To say that if your order didn't ship by now means you won't get it on release date is both premature and irrational given how much time is left until the 21st. I find it HIGHLY doubtful AT&T was able to process enough orders to ship out their entire first batch of stock on day ONE. And even if they did, I don't see how they would not get more shipments every day allowing them to process more orders each day. I mean my guess is as good as anyone's, but I'm just trying to approach this from a logical standpoint.

lol I am being realistic I don't beat around the bush. I have ordered thru pre orders before and the later the day passes the later your opportunity is. Why be sacred you may not get it on day one, but you get it a few days later.

26 countries or more had their hands in this iphone this year.
 
I never got an email since I ordered from the phone.

Has your card already been charged, or showing pending charges? I got the email, but my status is still pending and I havent seen any charges yet.

At least you could see the cause of delay. My page only says "pending- needs more info. You will receive email abut this."
 
Can AT&T Deny my Order?

I placed my order before around 7 AM (EST) and till this very minute, my status is "pending". No charges yet on my cc, and no 2nd email from them. I'm afraid due to my short credit history, I will be denied the phone. Has anyone heard if this actually happens?
 
Same boat for me as a lot of other premier orders. Ordered 2 phones at 9:40 and 9:45 a.m. EST on the 14th. Got 2 emails of order received immediately with the "as soon as the 21st" language. No texts or other messages yesterday and the order stayed as pending through the day. Overnight, it switched to processing and the entire amount (including tax) was charged sometime after midnight. Now, on the site under orders, it shows my orders as being on the 15th rather than the 14th. If I go through the email link, it shows them as being done on the 14th. Confusing? Oui!

Wow....that's a little brutal. I woke up at 2:45; logged on to get my phone and it wouldn't process until I paid my bill (which wasn't even due until 9/25- and I've NEVER been late with a payment). By the time I was finally able get back on the site - it was 6:45. So, some of us did wake up at the same time as you - we just couldn't get through. And I don't think everyone is complaining that they aren't going to get the phone at the same time as you - we just want to know 'when' we are getting our phone.
 
Got my order in at 9am ET, and immediately received a confirmation email saying I'd receive phones on 9-21.

OLAM still saying processing.

Credit card lists as pending. Incidentally, there are a couple of $1 charges to AT&T. Which are put through to test the validity of the credit card.

You might want to see if there are successful small charges on your card to get an idea if your order will go through.

Yes! Just cancelled my Apple preorder (delivery 10/5) for a Radio Shack preorder (pickup on release weekend, hopefully 9/21). Woo!
 
I'm still on the processing status and I received my order confirmation email at exactly 2:00am CST. I also signed up for AT&T as I was pre-ordering. My credit card has been charged.


Yea but the difference is i have yet to receive a confirmation email....i dont get it
 
My Premier order status changed from Pending to Preorder Processing around 10pm PST last night. I checked this morning, and my credit card has been authorized for the full amount. It also has a $1 authorization that was placed immediately after I ordered. I ordered around 5am PST on Friday.

My order is still in processing as well. So I don't understand what u mean by my previous post not being true.

I mainly posted that because the people that didn't want to wake up SUPER early like myself and lots of others did so we could get our place in line. Then they start to whine about how it's not fair and how they're pissed at AT&T.

Once again to those people, you snooze, you lose. I have zero sympathy for you.
