ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Here;s some bad news for premier orders around 7am PDT 9/14

Chatted with a rep online just now... here's the jist of our conversation....

Lisa: Please hold for one to two minutes while I locate your order.

Lisa: Thank you for holding, Mr. xxxxxxxx.

Lisa: I have located your order.

Lisa: I show that your order will be shipped between October 4th and October 15th.

Ed: well, that sucks... alrighty then. thanks!

Lisa: I am so sorry about that.

Lisa: You are welcome.

Lisa: Will there be anything else I may assist you with today?

looks like im waiting a few weeks for mine! so annoying, cos i tried so hard to get through at midnight PDT, websites were completely frozen for hours... by 3am, i had to go to sleep, but woke up at 7 and placed my order.

Calm Down!!!

Look I have some input from my expierience from the 4S release:

I pre-ordered my 4S on the pre-order day at about 2:30 PM. I recieved my 4S on the release day! I didn't see a tracking number show up until maybe 2 days before recieving it. I didn't see a charge on my Credit Card unitl about 1 or 2 weeks after I actually had the phone.

I ordered two iphone 5 this year. I ordered one at about 830 am EST. Got my email about "as soon as the 21st". i decided to order one for my line at something like 3:30 PM EST. Both are on the order status site. My early one is Processing, my later one is "recieved".

Just sit back relax and remember: if you ordered before 900am EST then you are probably good!!!!

At least you know that is confirmed and when it will be shipped. That is all i want at this point. Is to know that it has been confirmed, and the shipping date. I will be more at ease at that point.

oh yeah, i agree... and its not like im without a phone or anything unlike some people who sold theirs already :confused: ha ha

Even if the CSR tells you that you will get it in October, it's at best a worst case estimate. In other words, people are looking for concrete information but most likely won't find it. It's just a waiting game.
 
i'm a little concerned that some people have placed orders no later than 9ish ET area have there ordered dates being switched to 9/15 instead of 9/14 on AT&Ts order status page(not the premier website).
 
Rep on the chat told me all the shipments will be shipped from AT&T on sept 21st... I hope she is wrong!!!

My AT&T Premier order status says "Preorder Processing"
Regular AT&T order status says "Processing"

got initial email minutes after online order with confirmation of delivery as early as the 21st. we will see...........

Yes, AT&T apparently is using a Newspeak dictionary when they describe us as "Premier" customers. I'm stuck in the "attention" status, too, but don't know why since my credit card company doesn't even have a record of an attempt to put a charge through (I called them thinking maybe they threw a fraud alert).

I'm less concerned since I have an order coming from Apple as well, and that's preparing for shipment. What may be confusing AT&T is that Apple put through an on-contract order and I ordered no-commitment a few hours later from AT&T. What I really want is a no-commitment phone. Hopefully the latter actually arrives before my 30 day return period is up so I can return the Apple order, keep the no-commitment one, go back off contract and request an unlock from AT&T. Too bad Apple didn't offer the unlocked version for pre-order in the US. Otherwise I could have avoided all this. October 5 is fine for me for the AT&T order, but October 15 would be cutting it awfully close. I'd probably just buy it in the store at that point.

Is it counted from the 14th or the 21st? I see that my upgrade eligibility date has been updated based on yesterday's date (it now says 4/14/14).

I just thought of another possibility. Will AT&T allow you to take an on-contract phone and make it no-commitment by paying them the $450 difference? I don't want to "cancel" since I actually want to stick with AT&T for the time being but may give T-Mobile a try next year when their LTE network goes live.

You said 6:15am. I am wondering what time zone you are in. I am in central. And if you are in central that means you ordered your phone after i ordered mine, and yours is pending shipment. And mine is still processing.
 
It seems like AT&T cannot get their story straight. I read on here where a few of you had talked to AT&T and they said if you ordered your phone before 8am or 9am depending on your time zone you would get your phone on the 21st. And they said that was not true. Only those that ordered their phone within that 1st hr are going to get their phone before the 21st. Anyone after will receive their phone on the 28th or Oct 5th or in some cases after the 5th. And they said they were sorry i was misinformed, and there was nothing they could do. :confused:

You'll get it (or you should get it, barring any delivery screw ups) on the 21st if your email says that you're getting it on the 21st.

Mine says: "Your iPhone 5 will be delivered on 9/21/12."

It was at 4:30 pmthough but it's 64 gb and the lady said the 21st because it was 64 as opposed to 16.

Evelyn: Orders placed before 9am Pacific on 9/14/12 will ship by 9/21/12. Orders placed after this time will ship in 14-21 business days.

That is very likely, just a worst case scenario. The last thing they want to do is tell you that it will for sure be there on the 21st, then when the 21st comes and goes and you still have no phone...you call up and complain to them. There is just no way to know for sure until you see the "Shipped" designation on your order.
 
It seems like there are more people getting the response I got from AT&T that they will receive their shipments on the 21st and will ship out that day. So it'll probably be 24th for me then.
 
Ordered mine at aprox 745am on the 14th and got a confirmation for 21st delivery.

Charges pending on credit card and have received email.

9am pacific time is what central time? I ordered mine around 4am central time that night.

I ordered mine at 6:45 and I'm Premier. I cannot log into my Premier account - forgot my info and don't work for that company anymore. OOPS. Anyway, my order went through and is Processing. my credit card was charged instantly. I called a rep today and it sounded like I wouldn't be getting my phone on the 21st - though he wouldn't come out and say it. My status still says that ordered my phone on the 14th. I don't understand why some peoples are changing to the 15th.

Mine is also identical to yours of all conditions and I did around the same time...
