I am in a similar situation. But mine was because a slight credit card issue and now on their one order site it shows the 17th. But on the premier it shows 14th. I still have some hope but with it still showing 1 under back order still I do not expect to receive it tomorrow or Monday. Most likely not until the end of Sept. to early Oct. But, I still have faith that att's order system is not accurate at all and I may still have a chance.
 
Oh what a tease!!!! I just checked the order page and for some reason it always shows my iphone order in June of 2010. I have been accustomed to looking (developed a habit) at the top one for the iphone 5 updates. Well, I just put the info in and the top one had shipped with a tracking number and the awful backorder was gone!!!! For some reason it had the iphone 4 status in both spots. Damn AT&T.
Still on backorder. Ordered the phone through live rep at 10:00 CST on Friday. 16gb Black. I have given up on any chance getting the phone tomorrow.

It's funny how many different things ATT will tell you. I was told yesterday that mine won't ship out until late October. The guy who sold it to me said I'd get it on the 21st. I have another email stating that the phone will ship out between 21-26th.
 
So I checked online this morning and it says shipped with the shipping info for FedEx, FedEx says it was picked up this morning and will be delivered tomorrow.

Then I got another email from AT&T this morning saying that my phone is processing and will be shipped in 14-21 days. Lol.

ordered friday AM and still backordered...guess i'm beat. One last shot in the dark:

anyone have info when their phone is getting shipped to the store? maybe those aren't tracked or do so differently?

The one nice thing about FedEx, is that if you miss a delivery, you can often pick up the package at their location the same day. Here's hoping, as I won't be home until around noon tomorrow, so I might miss the guy.

Couldn't you print something from their website stating that it's fine to leave it, and you simply sign it and put it on your door?

Also, I think I read something about an option that you can do now to leave it at their location and you pick it up tomorrow, instead of them attempting to deliver.

I have the same and wondered if anyone else did. Does this mean we get 2?

Sadly mine still says back ordered.:(
Ordered a 16GB black at 6.38 AM CST. I was wondering what the order number of others who are on back-order looks like. Mine is "1612XXXXXXXX".

I was thinking may be it's the 1612 series orders like me that got screwed.

Didn't you read the iPhone 5 reviews. They all said the iPhone 5 was reallllly fast. Now you have proof.:D
 
If anyone could answer this, it would be much appreciated.

I made my order at 10:30 am on the 14th, but didn't get my confirmation email until 7:30 pm that night.

Does this mean my order didn't go through til 7:30? Or does when the email came in not matter?
 
Everything is right on schedule with me.

Ordered 9/14 @ 620am est via premier website.

Late last night/early this morning = tracking number finally live on fedex site. Delivery tomorrow BY 3pm :)

Sorry for those who didnt get up early enough, its your own fault.
Ill be enjoying my iPhone 5 tomorrow......GO BIG BLUE!!!

My tracking sheet doesn't say signature required and it normally says if it is.

I ordered my iPhone 4 from ATT and didn't have to sign. I believe that only happens when you order directly from Apple

Could be. Sacrifice a goat and see if it helps. Mine is frozen on the screen as an eternal backorder. Curse Jupiter or whatever deity presides over the cell phone underworld.

Thanks! This method worked like a charm. On the regular login site I had my order all but disappear. I used the link that my confirmation email and it showed my order but blank. No shipping email either. Got a working tracking number, it's in Newark and scheduled to be delivered by 3pm tomorrow. :D
 
Just got off the phone with a FedEx lady and she mentioned the package has no "signature required" for delivery. So everyone keep an eye out for your package!
 
I did a bit of Googling and this is directly from FedEx's website regarding signatures:


I won't be able to sign for my package, what can I do?

For packages not requiring a signature for release, our drivers will leave the package at a recipient's door, or other secure location, if the driver believes it is reasonable to do so. If your package was shipped with the Indirect Signature Release option, you may leave a signed and dated handwritten note on the door instructing the driver to leave the package at your door.

When the driver is unable to leave your package, they will leave a door tag on your door, informing you of the delivery attempt. The door tag contains information that may offer you the option to sign the door tag and have the driver leave your package in a secure location on the next delivery attempt, typically the next business day.

If signing the door tag is not possible because the shipper has requested an in-person, direct signature, you may request your package be held for pickup at your nearby FedEx Office location. For FedEx Express® packages, you may also request the package be held at the delivery station. Click here for FedEx locations

So I guess the next step is figuring out what kind of signature is required, if any.
 
Orderd 32GB Black at 7:13am CDT. My order number is also 1612xxx and I'm backordered. The email confirmation I got said "It will arrive 9/21/12" but that is the last communication I received.
