ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Sadly mine still says back ordered.
Ordered a 16GB black at 6.38 AM CST. I was wondering what the order number of others who are on back-order looks like. Mine is "1612XXXXXXXX".

I was thinking may be it's the 1612 series orders like me that got screwed.

I don't think order# is sequential or has anything to do with anything. I've seen people post order#s lower than mine but ordered well after me. You ordered just a little after I did -- although I ordered a 64GB. I wouldn't lose hope just yet. ATTs system seems to be a little slow updating. My order status page still doesn't show a tracking # or carrier yet UPS MyChoice emailed me this morning to let me know they would be delivering my phone tomorrow.

(BTW when I looked at shipping info on UPS there is NO reference # which is why tracking by reference doesn't work for me and others, so again not being able to track by reference doesn't mean anything either).

So mine says shipped as of yesterday morning but yesterday I also received the 14-21 shipping confirmation. No tracking info yet... Oh well. I ordered 9am EST, 16gb White.

If it shipped it shipped. ATT has its proverbial head up its proverbial arse. (See my post a few up and also from earlier this AM on shipping status).

For those of us with FedEx...

Is it possible to have them leave the package without a signature? Obviously, I know Apple lets you do this with their waiver, but AT&T doesn't have any such thing.

Does anyone know of a way to get them to leave the box tomorrow?

I think it all depends....I think FedEx is more strict than UPS. FedEx in my neighborhood WILL NOT leave the package if it's signature required. UPS will leave it if I leave a big note on the door saying... Tracking #, From, To ... please leave shipment at door, or please have neighbor accept. Then I sign my name (OR WHOEVER THE PACKAGE IS ADDRESSED TO - VERY IMPORTANT!). My UPS driver (always the same guy) is really nice and always leaves them for me.

Hopefully he does the same tomorrow!

Very irritated. I had mine show Shipping tracking#, off backorder then 5mins later it disappeared. Now when I checked the tracking # this morning, that package is listed as going to New York, NY, not where I live. Kind just a little pissed. I'm hoping that's a mistake, but for some reason I don't think it is...looks like I'll be waiting.

Just got off the phone with a FedEx lady and she mentioned the package has no "signature required" for delivery. So everyone keep an eye out for your package!

I'm sure a lot of delivery trucks will have phone bandits in tow come tomorrow.

I have a UPS MyChoice account and got an email from UPS with the future delivery notice for 9/21/12. I changed the delivery to a specific 2 hour window of 10:15am - 12:15am for an added charge of $5 on my account. Since I have a UPS MyChoice account I have instructions to leave at door without signature but I should be there upon arrival anyway.

Get an Android phone. That way when you get the iPhone 5 you have both! Total domination. I know some are like "Android", isn't that a curse word? haha. I don't know. If I could swap sims I'd have both. Is TMobile only one that can do that?

LOL - I've always had an iPhone. When it was time for the tablet, I opted for the Samsung (Android) instead of the iPad. I LOOOOOOOVE IT.

Is anyone getting their iPhone delivered tomorrow and ordered it after 6am from att on the 14th? I ordered mines at around 5:40AM and it says my order is still processing.. I thought that was pretty early and expected to get it on the 21st but I guess not.

Don't freak. Both UPS and FedEx recycle tracking #s. Most likely your iPhone hasn't been scanned by the carrier yet and the old shipping info is showing up.

Yes. I ordered mine at 8:30AM EST on the 14th. Fedex site is showing mine to be delivered by 3PM EST on the 21st. It left Fort Worth, TX yesterday morning and arrive in Indianapolis (where I live) this morning.

So I guess the next step is figuring out what kind of signature is required, if any.

You know you just opened up another can of worms! Most of us are finally calm and ready for tomorrow - now we're gonna start worrying about the signature.

Ha. Yes, UPS MyChoice FTW. But for them I'd still be clueless about my tracking# and some ATT goon would probably be telling me the "shipping" status is an error. (I only have the free service b/c I'm a cheapskate. But I'm working from home tomorrow anyway).

I am in the exact same situation. Order number begins with 1612 and still backordered. Also received the confirmation email stating it will arrive 9/21/12. Maybe we are being fulfilled at a facility that isn't updating the order status. Just a guess. My fingers remain crossed.

I ordered at 5:50something (Premier) and mine is en route. I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to this.

Late last night/early this morning = tracking number finally live on fedex site. Delivery tomorrow BY 3pm

Couldn't order online due to a business account. Couldn't get to the store until 11 because I chose not to skip my class in the AM. That is not a fault. I'm happy for those who got it, and shrug my shoulders at not getting it. Typical NYC/Giants scum. You guys epitomize classless losers.

I am going to wait it out till tomorrow evening and then if doesn't arrive then cancel it and reorder from Verizon. Very pissed at AT&T right now.

The reason for me asking about the order number series is that i noticed a few people who said theirs is still in back order have the same 1612 series.
