Still on back order. Ordered Friday 9/14 8pm. Accepted TnC friday at 830 pm. But, to avail att completely boned me and somehow have my order date as 9/17. Not too upset because I didn't think id get it Friday ordering at 8pm. Just the fact that they completely FOOQDD my order up.
 
I really think it's safe to assume if you ordered in an AT&T store (even within the supposed cutoff time) you're likely not coming off back order and most likely not getting a phone tomorrow.

Bummer. :(
 
Just not getting how AT&T works

Super frustrated. Ordered at 3:20am Eastern. No problems. Order number starts with 1406. Account in good standing, no credit card issues. Somehow I'm back ordered. Have been from the very beginning. Ordered a 64gb black. Seeing people many hours after me order the same thing and getting theirs shipped. I have lost hope that I'll see anything tomorrow. I always thought first come, first serve was fairly simple. Leave it up to AT&T to screw that up.
 
Here's a question for you all: is there anyone who lives in TEXAS (especially near the Dallas/FortWorth area) that has received shipping information?

I pre-ordered mine on 9/14 at 9AM CST at an AT&T corporate retail store as soon as it opened, but my backorder is still 1. I'm in Houston, TX so I'm wondering if mine will be shipped last minute since I live so close to the distribution center (its only about a 5 hour drive from Houston to Fort Worth).

Yes sir! I received my tracking last night, said shipping yesterday morning, went off backorder day before. Ordered 16gb black at 7:00AM CST on the 14th.
 
White 16gb iPhone ordered at 5:10am PST. Just got an email this morning with a working FedEx tracking number. Good to go for the 21st! :cool:
 
Woke up today, checked my order status, tracking number! It's in Memphis, being delivered to Salt Lake City on Friday! :D:D:D
 
- Iphone 5 Black ordered thru regular AT&T website approx 1pm EST on 9/14. Website still stated 9/21 delivery, however confirmation email received immediatly stated 14-21 days for delivery.

- Qty Backordered changed from 1 to 0 overnight last night.

- CSS email received today (9/19) @ 10:44am EST.

Hoping for more updates tonight and to get for friday. No shipped status yet, and unable to find thru UPS/FEDEX.

UPDATE: Approx 7:30pm EST (9/19) status changed to shipped on bth AT&T tracking sites, however no tracking number yet, and nothing on UPS/FEDEX yet.

UPDATE 2: Woke up this morning with tracking number which confirms on UPS.com. Package due to arrive tomorrow!

Some hope for people who ordered late as I did not place my order till 1pm EST on 9/14 and only received email stating 14-21 days.

So now that my phone has shipped, how much of a risk would it be to call FedEx and ask them to deliver it to my office instead of my home? Could that mess up my delivery which is scheduled for tomorrow?
 
You guys are so lucky, my order number starts with "9041" and I didn't order until 3-4 PM Saturday.. I'll probably be one of the last ones:(

My order # starts with 904 also, but that # was created at 9 am est on 9/14, however my order didn't actually start processing until around 3-4pm est on Saturday because that's when I accepted the terms and conditions. I'm still at backorder 32gb & 16gb white phones.
 
Sometime between Midnight and 3AM my tracking numbers dropped and they work. My white iPhone 5 is sitting in Texas waiting to be delivered by FedEx. Good luck to everyone.

I think it's very backwards to suggest that someone can pre-order an item and not get it yet you can stand in-line and get a phone. Shouldn't all available inventory go to those who took the time to reserve in the first place?

wow. that absolutely blows. You ordered within 20 minutes of pre orders opening and they still haven't shipped? it makes me wonder how ATT is handling these preorder if people that ordered after 12pm EST are getting their phones delivered tomorrow.

09/17 10:01 AM CDT - Status states QTY BACKORDERED 1 / Processing
09/17 12:00 AM CDT - Status changed to QTY ORDERED 1 / Pending Shipment
09/18 22:30 PM CDT - Another email received confirming my order and receiving "as soon as 9/21/12"
09/19 05:45 AM CDT - Status still "In Progress" but now have a FedEx tracking number. (Not in FedEx system yet)
09/20 05:00 AM CDT - Status changed to "Shipped"
09/20 05:00 AM CDT - Shipment information sent to FedEx. Package will be Overnighted.

False. Pre-ordered mine in store on my way to work on Friday morning and I've had nothing but progress in my order. Shipped according to AT&T status update and FedEx tracking.

If you had your **** in order before you ordered you really should not have had a problem with all of this. You can't expect AT&T to heed to your beg and call when most of the problems I see people ranting about on here are user error.

Thanks for sharing this. It DOES give me a bit of hope since I ordered @ 11:30-ish AM CST 9/14 as well. :)

Completely agree, The fact the all apple and at&t stores will be stocked with iPhones but people who pre-ordered have to wait 14-21 is just ridiculous.
 
No shipment notification yet...

Unfortunately my order is still processing. Any chance that I'll see a shipment notification pop up today?? I did receive the initial email that said "your iPhone 5 will be delivered on Sept. 21."
