I ordered three iphones 5s at 3:10-3:15am EST on friday 14. Two of them are 16gb black and the third one is 32gb black. All of them are on backorder, no tracking number, nothing!
I ordered another iphone 5 on friday 14 at 9:30am EST, but this one was over the phone, for this one I have tracking number and its already picked up and should be delivered by tomorrow at 5!
So I think I should have ordered all of them over the phone!

I really think it's safe to assume if you ordered in an AT&T store (even within the supposed cutoff time) you're likely not coming off back order and most likely not getting a phone tomorrow.

Bummer. :(

I'm thinking the same thing. Only ordered mine there as a last resort. First I could not order anything via the premier site (called about that last thursday and was told it was an issue with the website and would take 24-48 hours to resolve and that I would need to call Premier at 8AM to order), then woke up at pre-order go live, was able to access the premier store, but no iphones were available even though my settings allowed for them to be purchased. I then spent two hours on the phone (after sleeping) with premier support and couldn't order over the phone with them, so theY transferred me to someone who could...but they actually hung up on me instead. I then spent then next hour on hold waiting for someone to take my order. By that time, the local AT&T corporate store was open, so I stopped in and ordered with no issues.

I'm glad i'm not alone in thinking that AT&T's customer service is the WORST.
 
Update here ordered a 16gb black through premier at 7:15AM EST on 9/14. Had back order quantity and the tracker said my order date was 9/15.

Tuesday Evening - back order went to 0
Wednesday afternoon - status shipped, no tracking info
Thursday morning between 6:30 and 9 - received FedEx tracking. Package left Fort Worth at 6AM and is sitting in Indy as of 8AM.
 
My order # starts with 904 also, but that # was created at 9 am est on 9/14, however my order didn't actually start processing until around 3-4pm est on Saturday because that's when I accepted the terms and conditions. I'm still at backorder 32gb & 16gb white phones.

Same situation as you.
 
I guess ATT doesn't suck anymore. Some of us totally overreacted :)

False. Pre-ordered mine in store on my way to work on Friday morning and I've had nothing but progress in my order. Shipped according to AT&T status update and FedEx tracking.

If you had your **** in order before you ordered you really should not have had a problem with all of this. You can't expect AT&T to heed to your beg and call when most of the problems I see people ranting about on here are user error.

Did I upset you? I apologize if so. You're one of the few that ordered in store that I've seen on here and have had a successful transaction.

I ordered at 9:05 est (when they opened) and was told the 21st. I then got an email about an hour later that said 14-21 days. Exactly how is my stuff not together?
 
ordered 3pm EST friday through premier. i got my tracking number this morning. will be here tomorrow.

This gives me hope. I was first in line at an AT&T store (to get 2 activation fees waived while preordering) and got both confirmation emails at about 9:25 AM EST. Still showing back ordered and no tracking # as of 9:16 AM Thursday. I'm hoping that it's just very difficult updating all the order statuses but most of us should get ours tomorrow. As long as I get it before next Friday I will be happy.. have plans for that weekend and want the ability to take panarama photos :)

Seriously, that guy gets lucky and acts like he had his ***** more together than going to store and ordering.

If you had your **** in order before you ordered you really should not have had a problem with all of this. You can't expect AT&T to heed to your beg and call when most of the problems I see people ranting about on here are user error.

No user error on my part, just a lack of knowledge on the part of the almighty AT&T PREMIER support employees. What time did you order?

I ordered a 64gb black model at 3:15AM on the 14th from ATT for delivery to Florida. Yes, 15 minutes after pre-orders started. Still backordered.

I ordered a 32gb white model for my wife from the Apple store shortly thereafter (ATT's site wasn't working for me at this point). Set to be delivered tomorrow.

My iPhone 4's battery just stopped accepting new charge about a week ago so I'm working on an old cracked screen 3g model. No idea why I bothered waking up at 3am. If I don't see any change later today I'll try to cancel my order and take my chances at the nearby Apple store.

Frustrating for those of us who went the extra mile to guarantee a delivery on the 21st.

So I pre order mine really late so I know if will be on back order, but att status is processing. Will they ever give me a estimated ship date? Or will I just have to wait until it ships to see anything?
 
Ordered mine the 14th at approx 4am pacific time thru the premier site....order changed from 1 on back order to 0 tuesday morning, wednesday afternoon status changed to shipped but no tracking number...wake up this morning and it has a tracking number and also left texas this morning with a delivery date of tomorrow before 3pm.

It appears you are one of the few who has seen any progress.

I too ordered through my local store (via my AT&T rep before hours actually) and have seen no progress. Not sure what we would need to have in order...

Can you elaborate on what you may have done differently? Assuming you know what we did wrong...

I'm sorry to break the news but AT&T system blows. It was just luck of the drawn. I ordered 9/14 over the phone just to be told my order date is 9/17.
 
you guys sure? I ordered around 8:34AM EST and my order is 1010100305xxxx and it's shipped. How come my order # is in a different range? I ordered from Premier.

My number is also in that Range. I ordered at around 6:27am EST from the Premier Business Site. I did order after logging into my Foundation Account and then clicked on my devices update button which took me thru a process to select a phone a data rate plan. So it may have to do with how people chose to upgrade their phones. I didn't go thru the "Pre-Order iPhone 5" link on the main page of att.com

Update on the Shipping status of my order:

I ordered thru two different channels. The first phone that I explained above is a 64GB Black and it is shipping via FedEx from Tennessee to arrive no later that 4:30 EST on the 21st in Michigan.

The order confirmation page is different for this purchase. It doesn't sow the backorder info like most people can see. I received an email sometime in the middle of the night with a tracking number for FedEx.

The second order was a 64GB Black and it was ordered thru my Foundation Account Premier Rep who I spoke to on 9/13 and he said he would place the order for me on 9/14. He submitted the order around 11:40am EST or at least that is when I received an order confirmation. This order is coming via UPS and is scheduled to arrive 9/21. The tracking hasn't updated yet to show me where it is being sent from.

The second order had the same style order number most people here have used to pull up the order status page to see backorder status, carrier, tracking number, etc. This page has now changed to Shipped and I have a tracking link.

I hope this helps answer some questions.
