FYI note on UPS.com

Important information for iPhone Customers
Apple has required that UPS deliver iPhone shipments to customers on and not before Friday, September 21, 2012. iPhone’s are scheduled for Friday, September 21 2012.

Why isn't my package moving? The packages are being staged in key locations and moved on a coordinated schedule for delivery on the shipper's planned release date, Friday, September 21, 2012.

Looks like they really cracked down on carriers regarding this. When the iPhone 4 was launched, I got my device a day before launch from UPS. My delivery of my iPhone 5 seems to be stationary in Newark, NJ before dropping down to Philly tomorrow.

So close, yet so far.
 
Is there anymore confirmation on this?
My FedEx status screen doesn't say anything about signature required.
I would think it would if it were required.

I will be home for it but just in case I run out, it will be nice to know.

I got that from FedEx myself. If you'd like to confirm it you can call 1-800-GOFEDEX and give the representative your tracking #.
 
My FedEx tracking number is now live and my 32GB black is on the move in Fort Worth, TX. Delivery on 9/21. I also received a confirmation email from AT&T containing the tracking number.

I ordered at around 12:10am on 9/14 off the regular site.

Add me to the list of 1612 order numbers that is showing as backordered. All the usual stuff, got a confirmation email saying 9/21 like immediately after ordering. Confirmation text later that day.

At&t and premier both suck

I spent FIVE days prior to 9/14 trying to make sure that my "premier" privileges (HAH) would let me order. NUMEROUS phone calls, "chat" sessions, and emails with Premier, and multiple trips to my local corporate store. NO success. They could NOT sort it out. I tried to order several times during the night to no avail. Therefore, I got up early and waited outside the CORPORATE store, and was the first person in when they opened at 9:00 am cat. My Order for a black 32 gb was placed at 9:05 am cst. I signed the T&C right there at the counter, and left, thinking that I had done all I could. I got an email and text thanking me, but then got an email indicating that it would be 14- 21 days. My card was "pinged" almost immediately, but then the charge disappeared a couple of days later. Since then, NOTHING. Still on backorder. I am SO pissed. I know it is only a phone, but the manner in which this was handled is SO bad. Because I was supposedly premier, I could NOT order through Apple, or ANY at&t website. It truly does look like the people who went to a store are at the end of the line. Very disappointing.
 
And email confirmation catches up with shipping status..

"Congratulations your order has shipped! ! We are so excited you chose AT&T! Thank you again for choosing AT&T, the nations’ largest 4G network."

this is me. im so freaking confused. i was going to take the day off tomorrow to accept the delivery, and then i leave for vacation. my email said "Deliver on 9/21" and i ordered fairly early in the morning.

idk whats going on. some people here ordered after 12pm and already have their shipping info.
 
If everybody, or a fair amount of people badgered their carrier like this, they would collapse. Your expectations are way too high. Sure, you got a credit which the rest of us will have to pay for. They wanted to get rid of you. They have more important things to do than take multiple phone calls from a customer while they are trying to handle REAL issues. I have either owned or been in Sr Mgmt positions in many companies and would have easily allowed customers like you to just leave. It is not worth it.

And I have managed a number of customer service and support organizations over the years and would never have let this get this far. Successful companies are ones that ultimately;y value their customers, and while there is always a point where the value of that customer is not high enough to make up for the cost of supporting them, its never a good idea to strive for that.

Glad I never worked for you.
 
Seems like most of the pre-orders being filled are 16GB and 64GB iPhones.

How many people with 32GB iPhone 5 Pre-Orders are getting shipping info?

I ordered a 32gb black. My info is in the post above yours. Just got my shipping email at 2:09 am this morning.
 
I've noticed a lot of people with order number starting with 1406 are still on back order I too have a order number of 1406 and I ordered at 5:20am est and mine is still backprdered let's hope these are shipping out tonight
 
Status chanaged from Shipped to NA

This is a strange one. I have a tracking # for the other 64GB Black that I ordered a few minutes after this one.

The phone with a tracking # was ordered at 6:14AM CDT, the one with NA status was ordered at 6:06AM CDT.

My order number begins with 1406 and my 32GB black is on route to be delivered tomorrow.
 
Conversation with UPS:

Initial Question: My package is due to arrive tomorrow. Can it be sent to a UPS store to be picked up in the early morning instead of waiting for delivery? UPS: Hi, this is so&so.. I'll be happy to assist you.
Me: Hello
UPS: The only way to have the package routed to a UPS Store, is through UPS My Choice and unfortunately, I show that the options are restricted by the shipper.
Me: Okay thank you. Can you tell me if a signature will be required?
UPS: I show that there is no signature required. The decision on whether or not to release a shipment is ultimately up to the driver's best discretion.

However, a note can be left outside stating that you would like to have the package left. Yet, we cannot guarantee you that the driver will be leaving the package for security reasons.
Me: Okay. Thank you :)


Guess I will have to be patient. Says delivery by 3pm.
 
I'm still on backorder too. I ordered over the phone on 9/14 at 10:45am EST with Premier. 32gb black and 16gb white. I spoke to several CSRs who all gave me different info, but the consensus was that I wont be getting my phone tomorrow.

Then just now, I spoke to a CSR and she said "If you placed your order and accepted your T&C on 9/14, then you WILL get your phone tomorrow. Only the people who ordered on 9/17 or later will have to wait 14-21 days. They will be updating the statuses and shipping info again today and mine will supposedly be updated as shipped too. Here's hoping....
 
Spoke too soon

Just went back and checked, the NA status lasted for about 10 minutes, now it says shipped again and has a tracking #.
 
OK, this is classic ATT. I ordered iPhone5 at the att store in FL at 9:03 on the 14th. I was told I'd have the phone delivered on the 21st. I went home and found an email at 9:24 saying it would ship in 14 to 21 days. I went back to ATT and they told me not to worry, the phone would be here on the 21st. I checked this morning and it's till on back order. So I called ATT and they told me the phone would ship on the 21st. Anybody want to bet me that's going to happen?
 
Here is FedEX Shipment Release Authorization Form, if anyone wants to make sure your iPhone is delivered whether you are at home/work.

Disclaimer: Use only if you think it will be safe. There were cases crooks scanning porches for iPhone deliveries. It is OK to pickup late than loose the latest and greatest iPhone.

mine starts with 1406. i just want to know what the heck is going on. if i have to wait, fine, but ATT seriously sucks at communicating what is going on
