Well, my order has now changed to shipped, but when I track it, it shows the destination as saint cloud, fl. Funny, I'm in Mississippi?

They are hovering around until the appointmented time then they will already be in the air ready to fly to you.
 
Got my tracking number last night!

My iPhone 5 32GB White was stuck in "shipped" status with no tracking info yesterday, and I was even told that was incorrect, but it turns out it shipped after all!

I'm expecting it tomorrow :)

Ordered from premier, order number began with 1019
 
Simple Question for ATT. How is it that orders well after my order was placed already have shipping information and my order is still in backorder status?

Order placed around 8:30am EST on 14th
64gig black
got second email around 2am (19th), (confirmation but nothing specific)
order went to back ordered zero around 2pm EST sept 19th 10:30EST
shipped "1" no tracking data 10pm (19th)
status now says Shipped 11pm (19th)
got CSS email at 9am EST (20th)

Update... 20th 10:15am EST now have tracking number.

fedex says they'll hold it at the local office i can pick it up at 9am.

wait how did you manage that? More importantly, what number did you call to get it held?
 
Update:

-Ordered 32 gig white 9/14/12, when i clicked on status info it said I ordered 16 gig black 6/29/10!!! WTF?!?!??! I refreshed browser and it went back to showing 32 gig. Wtf though, seriously.

-Fedex tracking number finally has some info. Says in transit, and will be delivered by 3pm Friday

I'm in the exact same boat. Now my pending charge is no longer on my credit card. It isn't in a regular charge either. WTF

Could be wrong, but I think they can only having a charge pending for 7 days. I'd check mine but Chase's site doesnt seem to be working correctly.

I have had a situation for something else where a charge was pending and went away, then my item later shipped. (This item was backordered for 2+ months).
 
09/20/12 - 10:00AM EST - Status changed to N/A ... :(

What gives? I thought by today I would get a tracking # and everything since yesterday Status was Shipped...

Anyone know what N/A means?

Also, Order # begins with 1407, ordered on 9/14/12 9:20AM EST

10:15AM EST - Status back to shipped, and I have UPS tracking # !!!! My 32GB Black Beauty is coming from Louisville, KY this morning on its way to dirty Jersey by tomorrow! Woohoo

Is UPS going to leave it at the door if nobody is home, or will they require signature? Also, can we change that option if we contact UPS?
 
I think the order number has nothing to do with it. Some models sold faster than the other. I too have 1612 order number, but it shows (as of yesterday) that it has shipped, but no tracking number.

I ordered 64GB black.

1612 here as well.

1 Black 16GB / 1 White 16GB

Order time 9:44 PST

Both back ordered.
 
This isn't good

I just called the order status line. The automated service says they can't find my order number.

Ordered 32GB Black on 9/14 at 7:13am CDT. Online order status shows backordered. Overnight, the pending charge was removed.

This is nerve wracking

Received email and legit tracking # this morning. Fed Ex of course. 16 GB White. In Memphis, TN with delivery by 3pm on 9/21.

From a complete cluster funk comes actual progress!

Dumb question.

Those of you with FedEx experience, how quickly will the website show your status as "delivered" after it actually is?

I'd love to run home during lunch tomorrow and hide the box away but I don't want to drive all the way if it hasn't been delivered yet.

call 800 go fedex, tell them the tracking number. if its a center where they can hold packages for pick up, they will hold it.
 
I am reading everyone's comments, but I thought of something. What if the back-order status sets in automatically when they know they can't ship that many. So it may change from back ordered to shipped at some point, but they dont want to make promises so they put back ordered. Maybe it's only a few days delay or something.
 
Did anybody else use their wife/gf's upgrade and need to switch the phone to their line with unlimited data? I'm not sure how to switch phones while keeping my grandfathered unlimited plan in tact. Any ideas?

You take both phones in and they will switch it.
 
I am by no means trying to make excuses for them, and I agree with your statement regrading terrible communication, hence the reason AT&T finally got a plan and told everyone 14-21 business day this week. That was there answer, the script presented to all AT&T customer facing employees. Under promise and over deliver. I am sure it took time for the script to make it's way to all call centers and all employees, hence the mass confusion for a couple of days. Could they improve on this, 100% without a doubt yes, and they should. In fact, history should prove to them they need this type of script every year.

No, no, no. Under promise over deliver is when, from the outset, a company states "Your order ships in 14-21 days," and then a few days later "Surprise! Your order is shipping early." That's not what ATT did here.

Up until the early afternoon (EST) ATT's site proclaimed "Delivers on 9/21." [bold added for emphasis]. Immediately thereafter they started backtracking, even with orders that were "confirmed" at checkout for delivery on 9/21. That's not under promise, over deliver... it's the exact opposite, and it wasn't even the truth because even as they were spouting the "ships on 9/21" line, and 14-21 days delivery to everyone, universally, packages were being handed over to FedEx and UPS. At best this is laziness, at worst bald face lying.

Bottom line: ATT's CS shows nothing but indifference and even contempt for customers, especially repeating this monkey dance for 3 years going. ATT itself, held to the "delivers on 9/21" date for almost all orders -- I knew it would. I'm not critical of the company as a whole, just the part that is suppose to be the company's ambassador to the public.

Yeah, I have no shipping information and still on backorder and I ordered at 2:03AM CST. I really hope people are right and they're system just couldn't update everyone!

Same. It's BS. I just called and they said 14-21 days. I ordered at 3AM EST with my account in good standing. I'm pissed. In process of trying to cancel service as we speak.

and they'll let you pick it up that early? Last time i tried to ask for a hold was because they missed the delivery the previous day so i called to ask for a hold so i could pick up that day. when i asked for a time they said they wouldn't know the fedex guy would have to drop the package at the hold location making it a crap shoot on when i could pick up.
 
Tracking info is up!! My 16gb Black will be here tomorrow by 3pm.

I ordered at 8:39am EST online, and my order # starts with 1010.

I feel bad for all you guys who got shafted by AT&T. I would def call them and raise hell.
 
I'm still on backorder too. I ordered over the phone on 9/14 at 10:45am EST with Premier. 32gb black and 16gb white. I spoke to several CSRs who all gave me different info, but the consensus was that I wont be getting my phone tomorrow.

Then just now, I spoke to a CSR and she said "If you placed your order and accepted your T&C on 9/14, then you WILL get your phone tomorrow. Only the people who ordered on 9/17 or later will have to wait 14-21 days. They will be updating the statuses and shipping info again today and mine will supposedly be updated as shipped too. Here's hoping....

I wish I didn't get screwed. I ordered and accepted my TnC on 9/14, yet my order status says order state 9/17. I talks to a csr and they said we got your TnC on the 14 but you ordered the 17th. That makes no FRIGGEN sense. So aggravated with them.
