If this helps - I am in TX, Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and I have my shipping info and tracking number from UPS. Got it this morning.

For other pattern seekers:

1. No, I am not premier.
2. Yes, I have a 1612 series order number.
3. I ordered online at 9:30 in the morning.

How do you check what your series order number is again?
 
I ordered at 11AM EST and mine is going to be here tomorrow before 3PM. They seem to have it all backwards. 16GB Black

Another point of evidence supporting what AT&T has told a bunch of us: if your order was "final" in AT&T's system before 9:00 am Pacific time on Day 1, you will get your phone on 9/21. "Final" required, among other things, having a correct credit card and address in your order by that deadline. Premier seems to be working on a different system, though.
 
Where are you all getting these simple order numbers like 1504, etc?

My order numbers are 13 digits long and are a combination of letters and numbers, starting with the letter X.

As is mine. Do store orders have different style order numbers?

Was told i wont get my phone till Oct 4th and up... All of a sudden after checking the status site 100 times lol it went from 1 to 0 under back ordered only yesterday.

I called att and they said it still shows backordered but we see it update faster.

Today comes and i called and they finally said its off back order and i have a phone in stock on this wave of phones.

Now i JUST looked at my status page not even 15 min after i saw it before and i now have a tracking number from UPS and a ship date of TODAY!

Miracles do happen!!!
 
I called FedEx to ask if they could hold the package at my local facility so I could pick it up first thing in the morning. I gave them my tracking number but they said that the shipper has a restriction on the package and delivery must be attempted at least 1 time before they will hold the package. I was hoping to avoid having to sit around waiting all day for delivery but I guess there aren’t any other options. FedEx has a habit of just leaving an attempt to deliver notice on peoples doors in residential areas where I live; this happens every year at Christmas time when they are swamped.

I am in the same boat....
 
Update:

-Ordered 32 gig white 9/14/12, when i clicked on status info it said I ordered 16 gig black 6/29/10!!! WTF?!?!??! I refreshed browser and it went back to showing 32 gig. Wtf though, seriously.

-Fedex tracking number finally has some info. Says in transit, and will be delivered by 3pm Friday

If you used your home phone or business phone, it brings up your history of ALL orders (old ones) that is probably an old order.
 
Ordered a 16gb black/slate

12:00pmish MST order time (I dont remember the exact time, if theres a way to look it up i'd be happy to do so)

Last night kept checking until 1130pm as it was stuck on shipping with no, carrier, tracking data, no CC charge.

As of this morning it is shipped through FedEx and will be here tomorrow around 3, if FedEx can keep up

Did y'all notice that these order number's are not consistent? E-mails say one thing, website says another, confirmation e-mail says another, etc.. lol
 
Nothing change with my order still backorder 1:mad:I think people order in the retail will be the last one to get it. Never do it again:mad:
 
OK, this is classic ATT. I ordered iPhone5 at the att store in FL at 9:03 on the 14th. I was told I'd have the phone delivered on the 21st. I went home and found an email at 9:24 saying it would ship in 14 to 21 days. I went back to ATT and they told me not to worry, the phone would be here on the 21st. I checked this morning and it's till on back order. So I called ATT and they told me the phone would ship on the 21st. Anybody want to bet me that's going to happen?

what is going on is that you are placing too much stock in what ATT is telling you. honestly, they really don't have any more information to go on than you or I. your online order status is about all they can see.
 
i will never order from them again. you should have heard the CS Rep... "its your fault you did not accept the terms and conditions till 2:55pm"

i was like, what the HELL!? I ordered my phone at 9:15am, i got one email from ATT confirming delivery on 9/21. THATS IT. I was never asked to accept terms and conditions. I never accepted any terms and conditions at 2:55pm. I literally went about my day and that was it!

I have no idea how these people run a business

I noticed a strange quirk yesterday where my order status showed the wrong order and couple times. It even showed a complete different order number. It looks like their system glitches sometimes, causing this to happen. I don't think it can handle all of the MacRumors forumers obsessively refreshing their orders. Or, AT&T is just messing with us. :)
 
Well I'm glad everyone's getting their phones. Enjoy your new toys tomorrow likes its christmas. Have fun. I got the shaft by AT&T, so me an my wife I guess will be waiting 2 more weeks.
 
she told me I could cancel my order and take my chances buying in-store... but I am nervous about trying that. Last year I know my sister was able to get a 4S on launch day with no problem, but I am worried it will not be as easy this year.

I've never tried buying at the ATT store. Any advice here?
 
NEED HELP WITH THIS QUESTION.

Does when my confirmation email came in have anything to do with when my order went through?

I made my pre-order at 10:30 am, but my confirmation email came in at 7:30 pm..

Does that mean my order didn't go through until 7:30 pm?


Any help is MUCH appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you miss the Fedex guy tomorrow, does anyone know if you can pick it up on Saturday? Fedex doesn't normally deliver Saturday I believe right? Or is that only UPS?

First, if you ordered as an upgrade and you cancel, you might have to pay full price. Check with ATT about that and GET IT IN WRITING!. Option2 if you have an upgrade, you might be able to get the phone at Walmart, Radio Shack or Best Buy instead of the ATT store.
 
Has anyone ordered their iPhone 5 and picked UPS as shipper only to get it changed to FedEx? I chose UPS since they always ship packages in the mornings while FedEx ships in the afternoon in my area.
 
I think you will get your phone tomorrow if:

1. you didn't receive the email stating a 14 - 21 day delivery.
2. have a back order that zeros out before the day is over.

I have noticed that the white iphone does not seem to be as popular as last time.

Also I haven't heard anyone else mention this but when I purchased mine it made me put a check in a box that said I accepted the terms of service before I could even advance to the next page.

I ordered mine at my nearest AT&T store just down the street .
Got my order in at 9:30 PST Friday the 14th , 32GB black & slate .
I was BARELY able to check my order status yesterday & as of today I'm still in back order .
I thought that pre-ordering (especially in the store) meant they held a damn phone for you with your name on it .
It just annoys me that people will be able to walk-in tomorrow & get their hands on one while I'll still be waiting . . can't help but feel one of those should be mine # .
Guess I was wrong about how this stuff works , I should've went to Radio Shack because they were one of the retail stores under the radar .
 
I had a random theory. I've been looking at people's orders and I've noticed that most people with order numbers that start with 140 list their time as PST..but ordered before the cut off

I have a 150 and live in CA..and haven't seen progress but just noticing the Premier orders were all changing at the same time and then there were a ton of EST orders updating.

The other huge one is I haven't seen anyone with packages that shipped from their main hubs in the West Coast yet. Not a big relief to some but it could be a theory to at least help you through the day.
