ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

finally gave in and called ATT, she says my order was not processed till 2pm so i missed the "first batch" and will get it between 10/4-10/15... even though I ordered at 9:15 and got my confirmation email that said "will deliver 9/21"... i did not order at 2pm!!!

what is this crap? seriously. shes saying its my fault i did not "accept the terms and conditions till 2pm"... i have NO IDEA WHAT SHE'S TALKING ABOUT? I NEVER ACCEPTED TERMS AND CONDITIONS AT 2PM! I ordered the phone at 9:15 and that was all! i got my confirmation email from ATT, and I never did anything else.

Losing hope on mine for tomorrow delivery. Ordered 2 on Friday @ 5:30AM PST, confirmation page said delivery by 9/21, but never got any email from AT&T. Order status page says backordered. order # starts with 1306

What confirmation page?

I am reading everyone's comments, but I thought of something. What if the back-order status sets in automatically when they know they can't ship that many. So it may change from back ordered to shipped at some point, but they dont want to make promises so they put back ordered. Maybe it's only a few days delay or something.

I kind of had a similiar thought. That their system might switch to back order if it doesnt have a shipping confirmation by a certain point before shipping date. It would explain why some people went from seeing 'back ordered' to having tracking numbers.

I'll remain optimistic... at least for a few more hours while I check my status every 5 minutes.

You take both phones in and they will switch it.

When you activate the phone on line be sure to activate it with YOUR number, not your g/f's. I'm in the same boat, I'm using my wife's eligibility for upgrade. I talked to AT&T a couple of days before the 14th and they said to order the phone under her number and acivate it under my number.

I ordered at 8:39am EST online, and my order # starts with 1010.

I feel bad for all you guys who got shafted by AT&T. I would def call them and raise hell.

Anyone In Puerto Rico seeing movement on there package? Mine just says "Shipment information sent to FedEx". Im not really concerned by this because I live 30 minutes away from the FedEx hub in PR so I'm sure ill get it by the estimated time of 2:00pm.

I think their is a miscommunication between AT&T reps and their computer systems. They might be giving people bogus delay dates! Stay positive!

Received a AT&T email this morning indicating that my phone was on it's way:

"Your AT&T order ### has shipped"

And inside the mail it has the tracking number, and right now it just arrived to Memphis with a "Estimated delivery Sep 21, 2012by 3:00 PM"

I ordered through the Premier AT&T site on 9/14 at 7:45am CST and got the FedEx tracking early this morning. Set to be delivered by 3pm tomorrow. Black 32GB.

My order was on "Processing" until yesterday afternoon, when it changed to "Shipped." Like I said tracking number didn't show up until this morning.

Good luck everybody! Hope you guys all get your phones. It seems to be quite a crapshoot at this point.

Where are you all getting these simple order numbers like 1504, etc?

My order numbers are 13 digits long and are a combination of letters and numbers, starting with the letter X.

I wish I didn't get screwed. I ordered and accepted my TnC on 9/14, yet my order status says order state 9/17. I talks to a csr and they said we got your TnC on the 14 but you ordered the 17th. That makes no FRIGGEN sense. So aggravated with them.

This is my exact situation.

I don't even bother calling anymore because the CSRs are power-less when it comes to moving these dates... so sucks to be us.

Here's a question for you all: is there anyone who lives in TEXAS (especially near the Dallas/FortWorth area) that has received shipping information?

I pre-ordered mine on 9/14 at 9AM CST at an AT&T corporate retail store as soon as it opened, but my backorder is still 1. I'm in Houston, TX so I'm wondering if mine will be shipped last minute since I live so close to the distribution center (its only about a 5 hour drive from Houston to Fort Worth).

Order 10:30am EST from ATT retail store, Received confirmation email around 2pm that same day.

Still no updates to my order since then, not a happy customer

I called FedEx to ask if they could hold the package at my local facility so I could pick it up first thing in the morning. I gave them my tracking number but they said that the shipper has a restriction on the package and delivery must be attempted at least 1 time before they will hold the package. I was hoping to avoid having to sit around waiting all day for delivery but I guess there aren’t any other options. FedEx has a habit of just leaving an attempt to deliver notice on peoples doors in residential areas where I live; this happens every year at Christmas time when they are swamped.
