ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Anyone who preorder in store check their order status? Anyone have shipped?

My brother's pre order in store (2 32GB black iphone 5 and 1 16GB iphone 5 white). still shows as backordered.

He ordered it officially at 1045AM eastern time on Friday. That's what was printed out in his timed receipt.

So kinda of bull crap that he won't get his iphones shipped out on time.

I guess they are giving ATT.com pre orders priorities?

I am pissed cause he was going to get it up in Maryland and than ship it down to me to Florida. That way I will have the phone by Tuesday. But guess this will not be the case anymore.

He gave me his mother in law's upgrade so couldn't split the order to have it shipped to different stores.

This is weird

Make sure the # you entered corresponds to the tracking method; i.e., by cell number or order#.

So I did all that -- numerous times on-line. Same results. Tried again when I got to work at about 10AM -- same results. I decided to call AT&T. I got a tracking number and my phone is in Newark, NJ already.

Still no activity on my bank account either.

AT&T -- service you can trust -- as being questionable at best!

Guess I'm half lucky. I reserved two iPhone 5's 32GB Black at my local AT&T Store on Friday (first one was around 9:30am EST, second one was around 10am EST). I was the first customer in my local store to reserve an iPhone 5, and my second iPhone 5 was #3 for the store. Hopefully will get the second one next week. It is a gift for my sister.

Yesterday, my first iPhone got the Shipped status and the second one went from Backordered 1 to 0 around 3pm EST, but about an hour later the second one changed back to backordered 1 and hasnt change since. Why AT&T?!? Overnight, I got the FEDEX Tracking number for my first iPhone. FEDEX says that I can get it tomorrow around 2PM at my local store. Also AT&T sent me my shipping notification.

Morning all

I pre ordered Iphone 5 16GB Black at exactly 5AM PST from AT&T.com and I now have a tracking number with delivery date tomorrow. I am a premier customer, not sure if that matters but trying to provide whatever info I can.

When I ordered, I never received any email from AT&T about anything. In fact, I've never received any emails at all yet from AT&T but I've been able to login and look at my order.


My order went as many others did. It went to backorder 1, changed to 0 on Tuesday and then said shipped yesterday. Cheers and good luck.

Ordered a 64GB Black at 7:04 AM EST from Premier on Friday, got my tracking number yesterday evening and shipping confirmation just past midnight today. My phone is now in Indy, slated for delivery before 3 PM tomorrow. Yippee!

If you miss the Fedex guy tomorrow, does anyone know if you can pick it up on Saturday? Fedex doesn't normally deliver Saturday I believe right? Or is that only UPS?

I called FedEx earlier to ask about this. They will attempt to deliver on Friday. If you aren't there, they will attempt again on Monday. The package will be held at the shipment center over the weekend, and you can go there and pick it up on Saturday (make sure you verify the hours).

I'm in a unique situation- I'm in Chicago and the phone is being shipped to my parents hours in MN (billing address ) and my parents are on vacation. I'm literally flying back to MN for 4hrs on Saturday with the sole purpose of picking the phone up. (I work for an airline so the flight is free)

UPS, whiich is surprising since it was not an available option when I orderd on the AT&T (non-premier) web site (9/14 6:35 PDT). I chose Fedex.

The tracking notice is not indicating that a signature is required, which is surprising.

I have seen some people on here order rather late and still have their order ship. As long as you are not backordered and you did not receive an email stating that it will be 14-21 days.
Keep watching the status throughout the day. I think you may still have a shot.

Mine got from Ft Worth to Newark in 90 minutes. Someone said they can do that because the phone is on the LTE network.

I ordered mine at my nearest AT&T store just down the street .
Got my order in at 9:30 PST Friday the 14th , 32GB black & slate .
I was BARELY able to check my order status yesterday & as of today I'm still in back order .
I thought that pre-ordering (especially in the store) meant they held a damn phone for you with your name on it .
It just annoys me that people will be able to walk-in tomorrow & get their hands on one while I'll still be waiting . . can't help but feel one of those should be mine # .
Guess I was wrong about how this stuff works , I should've went to Radio Shack because they were one of the retail stores under the radar .

If you used your home phone or business phone, it brings up your history of ALL orders (old ones) that is probably an old order.

I don't know, I think the system was just buggy. I got a 16 gig black 4 in october of 2010, this was a different order. I think with all the traffic my account got crossed with someone else's or something. That didn't stop me from having a mini nervous breakdown for about 40 seconds before I hit refresh.

I believe my reaction was: "Wtf?...DUDE....WTF!!!!! Noooooo. Wtf NOOOO! *hit refresh* ohh ok...phew"

I was told to call my retail store about it. They weren't able to tell me anything. Worthless exercise IMO. I think they're clueless.

I ordered at 8am EST and have a Fedex shipping tracking number for tomorrow by 1500.

I live in the DC area FYI and my phone left Indianapolis this morning.

Yeah that is also an option. Unfortunately for me I won't be there until Saturday anyway.

If you don't leave a note and the delivery attempt is unsuccessful they will hold it by default over the weekend since they won't attempt delivery again until Monday.
