I had to check a box that said I accepted the terms before I could even advance to the next page in the ordering process. I have not seen anyone else mention this which is really odd.

If u order over the phone they email it to you. I ordered over the phone because they waived my early upgrade fee. But I accepted my terms on the 14th, and my order apparently didn't get placed in line until the 17th. Pretty stupid.

Yes, hopefully it works out for a lot of people. He said that they had something like 380,000 16g black and only 16,100 16gb white IN THE CURRENT STATE-SIDE WAREHOUSE, so certain model phones are showing fulfilled before others.

he also said plenty of other colors/models are being fulfilled either by other teams/warehouses or directly from china and korea, he just had no info on those ones.

This happened to me as well. Is the money returned to your account or did you get charged? I know they don't charge your card until they ship out, but they still charged me. I go into my account to check my statements, but there's nothing there. I call my bank and they couldn't see anything on there end that I did a transaction with AT&T so I call AT&T and they said that my order was still in progress. Luckily I got my receipt in case anything happens. Anybody else going through the same thing?

The money that was being "held" was returned to my account in full. As far as my bank is concerned it is as if the transaction never existed.
 
Well I ordered mine on the 14th at 9:30am Eastern time through Premier. My order finally showed up on the regular att site yesterday and shows that i ordered it on the 18th and it is still backordered pending shipment. lame... anyone else have this problem?
 
Also interesting, the email I received right after completeing the purchase in store shows my order number as being "412XXXXXX" But on the order status page it says my order number is "X5MARXXXXXXXX"

It's all a mystery.

Based on virtual "expert" on AT&T site, I cannot change or cancel my preorder. Was anyone able to cancel their preorder by calling AT&T?

I had a person willing to cancel my preorder but I didn't trust that it would actually get cancelled and I would lose my eligibility for an upgrade. Still debating whether to try this.

myorder and there is a cancel pre-order button there. I don't think we can trust At&t to even cancel.
 
I also love how the email says "All orders are processed on a first come, first served basis" when that's CLEARLY not the case, as we've seen.
 
Mine has been shipped!

through Fedex; now @ INDIANAPOLIS; white 16GB; ordered on 14th, 6:33am PST through Premier website.

Yesterday I talked to AT&T representative and he told me that my order would be shipped on Oct 5.. their system is really stupid. I guess there is no communication between Premier and general customer systems.

Don't believe the words from representative!
 
My two orders begin with B...~11AM EST it was done.

I've found some old forums and comments pages from the 4s that suggest many people had to wait the full time, even AFTER the store had stock to sell to any walk in a couple weeks after.

But at the same time, some people on here have said their walk in order has a tracking #/shipped. So it's very weird

Many of us do. It is something with terms and conditions I think, a box we all probably checked, but somehow they got it wrong.
 
i ordered a black and a white 16 gm at 3pm est and the black one is now off of backorder but the white is not. and both still have the cancel preorder.
 
Ordered 32 gig white at store 9/14. They screwed up order (black instead of white). They corrected it and I got an e-mail with the correct phone at 11:14 a.m. (eastern).

Order starts with X and still on backorder.

I got the same email, my wife didn't though, very strange indeed!
 
Dreaded 1612

What's up with order numbers that start 1612? My phone area code is 612 (i live in Minneapolis). I guess that it is just a coincidence.?.?
 
I guess I got lucky...

hoping not to jinx myself, but placed my online order thru Premier at 10:04am EST 9/14. Got a conf email quickly, then nothing till monday another email. Order sat in 'pre-processing' for what seemed like an eternity and I was getting worried, but yesterday afternoon, it changed to Shipped but no tracking info. About 7:00am this morning I got a tracking notification for delivery via fedex by 3:00pm tomorrow. its currently in Indy waiting on more to load up a plane I guess.

Now, I wish Lifeproof had a case available for it. I'd rather not buy an Otterbox if I dont have to.
 
Hmmm weird - just checked something out

my "order number" from an email was in the form of B141-XX-XXX

but when i put that in along with other info bring me to the backordered page.. my order number at the top changes to XB14117XXXXXX (the X's being all letters, different from the X's above it in the other code)

Count me in the same group.

Preordered a 64 Gig black iPhone 5 through the the Premier business website at ~6:00am PST on 9/14/12. The order date on Premier shows 9/14/12 with a status of "Preorder processing". My order number starts with 1019.

On the regular ATT&T order status website (non-Premier), the order date shows 9/18/12 with "In Progress" and "1" for backordered.

At this point I have very little hope it'll be be delivered tomorrow.

PS: Yesterday morning I received the dreaded email:

"Thank you for your recent purchase from the AT&T Premier Online Store. We're pleased that you chose AT&T as your service provider.

We wanted to confirm that your order is reserved and will ship in approximately 14 ? 21 business days."
 
My local AT&T opens at 10 AM EST... was one of the first people to preorder (16GB, Black). No status updates at all.

Last year did the same thing with the 4S and remembered actually having status updates and DID receive my 4S on launch day (and that was with the typical 14-21 days in the e-mail just like this year).

Something is wrong though. Either there are no updates and we will still receive phones (which isn't impossible to think since I've heard stories of that before) or somehow in-store preorders have been pushed through later in priority and we will have to wait.

I'm not canceling to go line up at the store... if it doesn't come tomorrow, I'll just wait. Will probably be my last time preordering in store though.
