ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Still no Tracking info

Am I the only one with this screen still showing? I am beginning to wonder if I will get my phone tomorrow. (I have no idea if I did this correctly, so if a pic or link is not showing then, hmmmmm, I dont know)

Thursday was my day off so I didn't feel like driving all the way in just to be put into backorder so I did it online. My guess - the order numbers are sequential and are handled First In, First Out. From talking with my manager and our regional guy for AT&T they both claim pre-orders/backorders are shipped FIFO and are packed/shipped up till around 6pm CST. So it's very possible you and I are there somewhere, they just haven't gotten to us.

Remember, the AT&T warehouse where this mostly happens fulfills a few million preorders. Imagine how long it takes human beings to do this type of work by hand (even though conveyors make it slightly faster). I imagine it the same way I would waiting at the deli for cold cults. You and I are 16202xxxxxxxxxx of maybe 1900xxxxxxxxx so it will take some time for them to get to us.

AT&T rep told me the same thing at the beginning of this week and yet my phone will be here tomorrow. The only real way to check is the online AT&T order status.
 
I want to cancel my order:mad:I want to wait in line tomorrow to get one.....I never pre-order in ATT store again.

If you used an upgrade, it's my understanding that you don't get that back...so be careful.

I could be way off and wrong here, but that is what I gathered from this thread.

I will miss all of you after tomorrow.....nah, I'll be too busy on my new toy!

You should be fine. The label will not activate until it is scanned and placed in the truck;) It was created, that is all that matters.
 
Ridiculous I just called AT&T and they said I'm not shipping till Oct 4-20th. I ordered within that first hour too.

I asked how come others are getting them first who ordered after me. The lady said, "sir we got 2 million orders in that first hour." You'd think AT&T would have figured their system out like Apple has.

It seems that order numbers are sequential or semi-sequential. People have figured out that orders are done in batches (or in numerical order as they come in). 1612xxxxxxxx appears to be the batch of orders placed between 6:00am EST and 8:00am EST
 
My package is stuck in Indianapolis. Probably won't be any movement till later this afternoon or tonight on its final leg to here!! YAY WOOO!!

I know it sucks but it has nothing to do with how you "rate'. I'm convinced the first come first serve biz is BS as I ordered at 9:30am est and my phone will be here tomorrow. I really think it's all in how the orders get processed and that is luck of the draw.

i think is not when you order the iphone... But it's matter only when you agree on the term when you receive in the mail...

Because i order my iphone at 12pm pa time 9/14 and i got my tracking number today and delivery tomorrow...

I think (AND HOPE) that they probably will be shipping them out constantly in the next few weeks. I much prefer to think my phone is coming in 14 days and it just appear in 4. Rather than they tell me it will be here in 4 days and not show up for weeks after. Fingers crossed!!!
A question...is the 14-21 business days from the day we ordered? I would assume so, but then getting the e-mail yeterday...whatever.

I can swing by and pick that up for you on my way home from work if you'd like. Ha! So frustrating that yours is within driving distance and mine is still backordered :(

This is what I feared most :(

Why should people who didn't pre-order get their iPhone 5's before the good ones who did pre-order?

Luckily I am getting mine this Friday though :)

I placed 2 orders and they are both 1504 and mine still show back ordered. I'm starting to give up hope. ;(
 
This is my first iPhone, and the first time I've suffered through the pre-order process. It stinks. And to think people go through this with each successive new iPhone? Christ in Heaven. I was so geeked/excited/delirious about getting this phone. Now, all I do is obsess and worry and fret as to WHEN I'll have it. Kinda ruins the excitement I had as a newbie iPhone fan. :(

From what my rep told me, the 14-21 is from the day you ordered. Meaning Sep 28 or October 5.
