ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

I'm on the same page as You guys. The pre order process and especially the tracking of the package is honestly more exciting than the phone. I know it'll be fun for a couple hours to play with the phone but it's practically the same phone as iPhone 4s anyways.

Either way, I'm excited.
 
What blows me away is that they won't let people cancel their pre-orders thus preventing them from getting the phone in person tomorrow morning.
 
Yay my iPhone 5 is going to be delivered tomorrow! Squee!

Ordered from ATT at 3:12AM CDT on Sept 14th, had a identity issue, had to call and order was processed the next morning around 10am pacific.

This is actually the same situation I had when the iPhone 4 came out. I told myself I'd never order from At&T again even though I got my phone on launch day.

I'm right with you. Ordered around 3:20am EDT. Haven't seen anything update since the weekend. No problems with credit card or the order. Thinking it was a complete waste to wake up early. Should have learned my lesson with Iphone4. Next time I order through Apple or no one at all.

my mother received her order confirmation email at 2:03 central time, and she is a 1406 order number. her phone has been backordered for days. my phone (and i also had a 1406 order number) shipped and is in kentucky. both of us ordered via the regular ATT website separately. her phone was 32GB and white. mine was 64GB and black. she is a bit miffed.

I think that's the only hope most of us have who are still listed as back ordered right now.

Mine is already shipped. Ordered at 3:06 am est on the 14th. So waiting for my new iphone 5 tomorrow to throw away my Iphone 3G (no S)
 
Another Round of: Will I Receive my iPhone 5??!

Welcome back folks to another fun round of "Will I Receive my iPhone 5." Here's our first contestant's story:

• Preordered 16 GB black iPhone 5 from AT&T.com on the 14th at 5 a.m. MT
• Received email saying the iPhone 5 will be delivered on the 21st
• Received text message & email saying the order has been processed (later in the day on the 14th)
• Since then, nothing. No mention of backorder; no new shipping status. The status remains at: Processing

Will this person receive his iPhone tomorrow? The winner wins an iPhon... nothing. He or she gets nothing. :)

I beat you by 5 minutes at my local AT&T store and still no dice. Congrats...I suppose i'll keep refreshing, but i'll plan for the worst.

Not surprised ATT is offering statement credits. Especially when these things were supposed to be processed first come first serve and yet with no obvious technical glitches during the order process, that is obviously -not- the case. Leaves them open to a class action suit I'd bet.

Class action lawsuit for receiving a phone 2 weeks later? Did you not read the terms when you bought the phone? They don't even gautantee you'll get a phone at all. All the Proper verbiage to protect themselves is there.

nope. my confirmation email shortly after ordering. then a text from ATT a few hours later saying my order was processed. then the charge to my bank. a few days later the bank charge went away (never came back), and i've been stuck on "back ordered" ever since.

no emails, texts, calls, anything

Thank you for sharing this. Hopefully it means that the others of us that pre-ordered in store early Friday (including myself) will see a status change soon as well.

Other in-store purchasers, please post if your backorder changes to shipped so we know!!

I have two in 1406. Both still show backordered I ordered early too.

Seems as if the folks who ordered the earliest are being updated last.

I knew better than to order from AT&T, however, my judgment was impaired that early. AT&T also had guarantees of delivery by 9/21 all over their site as well as my confirmation email. There could still be hope. I would cancel and stand in line tomorrow morning if I wasn't so worried AT&T would find a way to screw that up too.

I have a 1406, ordered at 2:07am central, and have had nothing change since last Friday when I received my emails and had a credit card authorization.

Tomorrow's thread will be a 1000 times worse, ATT won't be able to keep up with the activation requests, it's going to be nuts. Then you will have the people that expect to show up at the AT&T store at 8am expecting to get a phone only to have 200 people already there for maybe 50 phones.

You just described my situation to a t. I'm in the same boat with the same 1406 order number.
