Thread is too big to keep up with but in case it's not come up - EXTPB prefix is Expedited Premier, not eternal back order ;-)

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." applies to premier accounts.

Our rep has said that's why our huge corp account gets priority and even covers things like why we don't get busted for tethering.

How your phones are moving (if you are getting it by FedEx):

  • FedEx has a few hubs in the U.S. They have a "global super hub" at Memphis, TN which is why most of the packages are going there. From there, they will be overnighted.
  • If your package now is at Indianapolis, it's because it's a national hub and second biggest in the U.S. So if you live close to this area, your package is here.
  • Then there are regional hubs at Oakland, Miami, Forth Wort, Newark. So anyone living very close to these areas should be getting theirs from here.

Again, all these should be moving overnight on 9/20. The reason they are picked up early is because otherwise, it's impossbile to overnight so many packages at so many different locations. The other way to think about this would be, it's an overnight from the "hub" to your home. Since AT&T's hub is at Fort Wort, TX, they first had to spread it out across the U.S. Something which also must have affected updating the tracking info IMO.

So even unless you see no tracking/shipment info about your phone by midnight today, everything is not lost. You may still be able to get it tomorrow! Hope that helps to calm down some disappointed souls.

Mine has been stuck in Indianna since this morning. Started in Texas though, but that's all the activity so far.

My order number is that and I'm not on premier AFAIK. I have a discount through the military that's about it. I'm still back ordered. I ordered the 14th and somehow I got pushed back and now my order date says the 17th.

My guess would be if yours is listed as backordered still and no tracking information as of right now you will not receive it tomorrow.

You can't take these online order stauses as holy scripture.

I would be willing to put money down that everyone who ordered your phones with no hiccups will be getting their phones tomorrow.

EDIT: I meant those who ordered theirs early. FIFO rules.

AT&T In Store Purchase (Friday 14 Sep @ 9:00AM EST)

I ordered mine in person from an AT&T store on Friday (14 Sep) ay 9:00AM EST. I was told as soon as I walked in that even though I was the first person to preorder an iPhone in the store, I would have to wait 14-21 business days. An email that I received 15 minutes later confirmed this. Yesterday, my order changed from processing to shipped, but had no tracking number, or carrier. This morning I checked, and I now have both a carrier (Fedex), and a tracking number, as well as a delivery date of 21 Sep. So glad I didn't stay up until 3:00AM trying to purchase one online. For future reference, this is the second time I've done this (ordering in store first thing the next morning), and this is the second time I will be receiving my iPhone on launch day. Good Luck To All!

heres a better question. anyone in the '1406' group have any luck getting shipping confirmation? im curious if its possible our phones are stuck somewhere waiting to be scanned or something? idk... i realize i'm grasping at straws here. i've lost almost all hope

I never even got a shipping confirmation. I just looked at my order status and clicked on the tracking number. I heard they are supposed to text you too, but I never got a text.

So I have seen that this question has been coming up. Just double checking on this. I upgraded my "ghost" line. I.e. one of the lines I use just for upgrades at discounted prices. Need to move/activate it for my real line. Anyone know if I can just activate and put in my number when my phone arrives tomorrow or if I will have to actually go into the store to do this?

Thank you for sharing this. Hopefully it means that the others of us that pre-ordered in store early Friday (including myself) will see a status change soon as well.

Other in-store purchasers, please post if your backorder changes to shipped so we know!!

I agree! Good to know we still have a chance.

Baton Rouge here. Backordered since day one. 16gb black ordered and Terms and Cond email sent back by 10:10am. Ordered through live rep on phone. I have the EXTPB prefix also.

I so hope it plays out like this for me... :) :(

I'll answer this too.

No, my order is being delivered tomorrow. I have a FedEx tracking number and everything.

I ordered at 12:10am PDT on 9/14.

32GB black.

How does it feel coming from an iPhone 4?

Also, does the iPhone 4 have shared photo streams?

Can someone verify what one is supposed to do if they are using someone else's upgrade and then swapping the phones? Do I activate it under my ineligible number? Just a little confused

I just finished my pre-order at vzw.com. $802.49 for the 32GB iPhone 5 in white.

Yo boy, wrong thread and wrong topic. This is AT&T pre-order thread and only for people who are freaking out over getting deliveries tomorrow. If you are not the one who's freaking out, you are wayy off dude! :D

Mind sharing what your order number started with? I ordered mine in store at 9:15 EDT, and mine has not processed yet. Thanks!

That is some very good insight!
