So I have seen that this question has been coming up. Just double checking on this. I upgraded my "ghost" line. I.e. one of the lines I use just for upgrades at discounted prices. Need to move/activate it for my real line. Anyone know if I can just activate and put in my number when my phone arrives tomorrow or if I will have to actually go into the store to do this?

I was wondering the same thing. I read all you have to do is call ATT and they'll set you up. I read elsewhere that you'll have to do it in store.
 
Can someone verify what one is supposed to do if they are using someone else's upgrade and then swapping the phones? Do I activate it under my ineligible number? Just a little confused

I asked the same question earlier. Just bring both phones to the store and they'll swap our the sims and get you sorted out

Shipped today 9/20

Ordered on att.com on 9/14 at 6:30EST. All this week the status was listed as "processing". Everything else was blank. I saw the shipping date added last night to 9/19/12. When I checked this morning, I saw the tracking number and carrier name. The status also changed to shipped.

I called AT&T on the 13th because I am using my wife's upgrade. They told me to order the phone with HER phone number and then after I receive the phone, activate it online with MY phone number. Done...

Yes, backordered as of 2 minutes ago when I last checked. Ordered at 3:20am EDT. 64GB black. No problems or issues. Order number is 14069808****. Have been backordered for days now. Contacted AT&T on Tuesday and was assured I'd have the phone on Friday. Starting to think that's not happening now.

You'll be fine. They're shipping overnight, and have been told to hold them so nobody gets them early.
 
My order number is that and I'm not on premier AFAIK. I have a discount through the military that's about it. I'm still back ordered. I ordered the 14th and somehow I got pushed back and now my order date says the 17th.

I think your discount through the military makes you a premier account. I have the same EXTP order number and I'm a premier account through being an employee of my university, although i'm still back-ordered.

That's bad. The people we've seen that happen to are looking at 4-5 weeks for delivery now.

How does it feel coming from an iPhone 4?

Also, does the iPhone 4 have shared photo streams?

I'm sure I'll notice a huge difference in performance. Hell, I already notice a big performance difference between my 4 and my wife's 4S.

Not sure about the shared photostreams......I'm not really interested in that feature.

I don't think it's that easy. The sim you get from the new phone is tied to your wife's line. You'll have to get a new sim for both phones before activating your lines. That's what the ATT and Apple rep told me. We'll see tomorrow though.
 
AT&T breaks my heart again.

I ordered at 3:27 am.

Still back ordered. At this point the odds of it miraculously showing up tom are slim to none. If Verizon sorts out the no talk/data by the 5s I will gladly pay my etf to switch over.

mine started with XEMW91 ordered in store at 9:57 AM EST still says processing
 
You're kidding, right? I didn't order until close to 11:30AM, CST! You've gotta be getting yours tomorrow!

They say that my porting request delayed my order by 2 days, so it's like I ordered on 9/16 at 1:28 PM pacific time instead of 9/14 at 1:40 am. Anyone here order on the 16th and have a 1910 order number ????

My wife's line is upgrading but I gave her my Galaxy Note so I'm getting the iphone. The ATT rep told me to activate, we have to bring both phones to the store. Of ourse he also said I'd get my iphone tomorrow and that's not happening. Still backordered
