Explanation of the AT&T Order Status Screen

When your status reads PROCESSING and not BACKORDER, it means that your order number has been paired to an iPhone S/N, it will be shipped in the first batch, and you will likely receive it tomorrow.

If it does say BACKORDER, it means that they received the order, and they anticipate enough stock for the 2nd or 3rd wave, but they have not paired your order number to the S/N of a phone (and this changes day to day) - so if it says BACKORDER now, it might not later today or early tomorrow.

The long and short of it seems to be, if it says PROCESSING you're going to get the phone on launch day. If it says BACKORDER, there is still a chance it will come on launch day.

Which order status page are you talking about? There are two. One of them shows a column that is titled "Backorder" and either shows 1 or 0. Is this the page you're talking about, or the other one?
 
Lol sorry. Im just not sure they'll go through my gate and go to the back. I'm sure they have to deliver x amount of packages in x amount of time so I don't wanna waste their time. :)

No, from a friend that worked for FedEX Ground, they have x number of packages, and are out until they are delivered, or there is an exception. After a certain point, they get concerned, but they get your scans and know what you have to deliver...
 
anyones ON start with 9951? or 5571?

i ordered both at 3pm est and the first one is not on backorder now but the 2nd still is.
 
NOPE! If it requires a 'Direct Signature', FedEX will NOT just leave it. They need YOU or someone they recognize to be in your family to sign for it. Period. Best you can do is try to have it held at the terminal for you to pick up, probably Monday.

Just go to the FedEx online tracking, enter the number, and select the "Hold at FedEx Location". Then choose your nearest FedEx Office (formerly Kinkos) and have it delivered there.

If you can catch it before it gets loaded onto your local truck for delivery tomorrow they will drop it off at the FEO/Kinkos on the same day as it was scheduled to be delivered.

Most FEO/Kinkos are open 24/7 so you can then pick it up at your leisure. And best of all there is NO charge for this service. UPS charges extra for packages held at UPS Store locations.

Do not select a FedEx Customer Shipping Center as their hours are more limited and it may not be available till Monday.
 
Has anyone's credit card been charged yet? My package is in KY right now scheduled for delivery tomorrow, but still no charge yet.

You can usually pick it up that evening at the terminal if you call and ask for it. I don't know how that will work tomorrow, but usually once I have the tag on the door, I go to the office between 5:30 and 6:30 and the driver is back, and I can get the package...

-no emails at all

still stuck on In Progress / QTY Back ordered 1 / Pending Shipment

called ATT a few times, livechat a few times, they have no idea whats going on and cannot really do much other than verify your order is in progress and there are no red flags.

staying optimistic for tomorrow as everyone in the same/similar boat should be doing as well. good luck guys.

I have the same exact thing going on. Same group and the only email I received was the email confirming my online order, 11 hours after I placed it. But I placed my order at 1:00 am pst for a Black 16gb.
 
1:40 am 9/14 was done online. No premiere. Was told my delay occurred due to a porting request. Said I won't get until 10/4 to 10/15.

Do they still have you as backordered? And, is there any truth to this magical 'cut off' time I keep reading about? I ordered @ 11:30PM 9/14/12. CSR's @ ATT say I'm not backordered despite it showing otherwise. Don't know what to believe.

I slept in, woke up when I felt like it, 11:03AM I ordered my iPhone 5 16GB Black. I was shipped via fedex. Order number is 16120XXXXXXX im golden.

Sorry I don't understand. Are you saying they will or will not go into my backyard if I left a note? I already know theyll leave it if I leave a note but just wondering if they'll go into the back. Thanks :)

I'm sure there will be plenty of shady people out tomorrow looking for little packages on doorsteps with the amount of publicity the iPhone 5 Sept 21 date has been getting. Grab and go!

Why not have it held for you at your nearest FedEx Office/Kinkos?
 
Someone here posted that they order in store at 10:30 EST and they are OFF back order.

I ordered at 10:04 EST IN STORE and I am still on backorder!

mine was done over the phone around 10am EST (Blk 32) my order is 9041 still backorder is 1 and processing

Not true.

One of my phones was ORDERED on 9/15 and is already on its way via UPS. White 32GB. Ported from a Sprint number.

Trust me, I was not expecting it to ship for 14-21 days!

There is a signature release form but if the package is "direct signature," you can't use it. Also, even if it's "indirect signature" the driver still had discretion whether to leave the pkg. My guess, no driver is taking the risk of dumping an iPhone.

Once a delivery attempt has been made you can call and p/u at the station that night or Sat AM. Also if you sign up for UPS My Choice (if it shipped UPS) you can request p/u at station before first delivery attempt. But you have to do it online.
