FedEx Flight 308

Am also watching it here:

http://www.flightradar24.com/

My white iPhone 5, 32gb left Memphis at 3:43pm and will arrive in Sacramento later this evening. Too bad I can't drive to the airport and pick it up tonight.

Cheers

Haha, reminds me of when I ordered my Mini Cooper. Imagine ordering a $25k car and tracking a freight ship as it slowly crosses the Atlantic for 2 weeks. It was a 6 week wait total.

There's probably a good chance we wont get it tomorrow, but I feel like the 2 weeks thing is just a way to make us happier when it ships sooner than that. Although I could be wrong.

I don't know about AT&T, but that is how Apple works. If you think it'll be a week, say 3 so people are ecstatic when they get it early. If you say a week and it becomes 2, everyone is pissed.

Seriously considering just taking the phone (if it ever gets here) and paying the ETF fee, then going over to Straight Talk for $45/mo. Still using the same towers. Shouldn't be too hard to rig my own nano sim together.

Why are people getting mad at AT&T for running out of phones? It was first come first serve. I understand if you ordered within the time frame why you would be mad, but if you ordered after the ran out, that is just too bad. I'm not trying to be mean in any way, its just how it is. Deal with it

I'm only mad at AT&T cause their ordering system is absolutely a piece of trash built in HTML most likely. I ordered my phone on Friday 9/14, just to have my order status change to 9/17 2 days later. It made no sense. Terms and conditions accepted on 9/14, account charged, 9/14, YET their system shows my order 9/17, explain that. That's why I'm mad. I knew I wouldn't be getting a phone tomorrow regardless because I did order late on Friday. But I didn't ORDER ON ****ING MONDAY AT&T.

I ordered mine at 3:15am EST. and it's backordered, most likely not coming tomorrow. terrible

because a majority of people including my self ordered well before the cutoff and we are on backorder

What the hell are they doing with my phone?! Flying it back and forth between Indy and Texas?! I'm in Seattle FedEx! :(

It's not that they ran out of phones that creates the anger. More to the point, it's their lack of forthcoming when honest questions warranted honest answers. Stop saying you're 'not trying to be mean' when it's painfully evident by your less than subtle dig that you are. People do have a right to be presented with clear, concise information so as to make choices that are right for them. Many would have opted to wait it out at an Apple Store, for example, or simply not order the new phone at all at this time. AT&T LIED about what they could deliver when they knew they couldn't.

Canceled my order over an hour ago. My account still shows my upgrade has been used.

Anyone who has canceled their order through AT&T can you please fill me in on if your eligibility has been reversed, what steps you took, and how long it took? Thank you!

This is exactly what happened to me! Had I've known this was going to be so recockulous I would have gone to the Apple store tomorrow morning.

"We wanted to confirm that your order is reserved and will ship in approximately 14 ? 21 business days."

Still on back order, so I guess we'll see but I'm thinking effed......

This guy has a point. I still haven't got any update on my phone. Last thing I heard was "will arrive on 9/21/2012" and not a peep since. Although I did have the disappearing credit card transaction.

I did the same. I canceled my order over the phone with one of the AT&T reps. However, they did remind me that it could take up to 24 hours for my eligibility to go back. If i were you, I would call back AT&T as soon as possible and see if they can manually reset your eligibility so that you can buy your iPhone tomorrow.

I had to call them 24 hours after I canceled my order in order for them to reset my eligibility.

Exactly. Absolutely ridiculous. AT&T should be held accountable for their terrible ordering system. I have no problem waiting a few more days. But getting forced behind 3 days of orders after taking my time and placing it day of pre orders going on sale is absolutely ludicrous.

Anyone know what the deal is with the stores tomorrow morning? Like a lot of you that have posted lately, AT&T has shafted with mysterious order dates not on 9/14...

If I can figure out what's going on in the stores, I might check out a store tomorrow morning and see if I can get a phone. If so, I'll add it on one of my other lines that has an eligible upgrade, activate on my line, and cancel my preorder after the fact. I think that will work from what I've read, and I don't want to risk cancelling right now since I've read that the upgrade might not update in time.
