see how they lied about the Facetime feature? Also, upgrade fee was NOT waived, I was promised and guaranteed that ALL iphones ordered on the 14th would arrive on the 21st. Contacting them only gets apologies and more lies.

ORDERED AT 9AM CST IN-STORE AND STILL PROCESSING AND BACKORDERED!! So pissed at AT&T! So many people ordered AFTER me already showed progress! Anyone in the same boat?
 
Any in-store preorder people see any changes at all this evening?

I just find it really odd that the ton of people who preordered at the store (which amounts for a lot, just a lot of them probably don't visit sites like this one online), that 99.9% of them have seen zero progress.

Still have a little faith that in-store preorders (if early enough) will receive their phones tomorrow and that there was just never any updates to their orders. Or maybe I'm just in denial? :cool:

Ordered 9:15 am Eastern and zero updates. Pretty bummed.

idk how relevant it is but a buddy of mine that pre-ordered thru verizon just received confirmation his is being shipped about 20 minutes ago so there is still a slim chance of hope for everyone maybe
 
My status

So a family of 5 here. I ordered 5 iPhone 5s all black 16gb when preorders started 3am est.

2 from AT&T and 3 from apple. It was straight forward for me. Got confirmation and everything for both AT&T and apple.

att using fedex and apple using ups. Have all my tracking numbers and all will arrive tomm! AT&T also seems to be more on the ball as my phones are already in PA but apples are still enroute.

I've seen the stories about people previously having zero updates but still receiving the phone come launch day. Maybe the in-store group are those lucky ones this year? :D

Either way... I'm not canceling my order to stand in line.

Sold my 4S and have been using an old Blackberry for the last week... I'll deal for the next week or two if it doesn't come tomorrow (unhappily of course).
 
Figured I'd register and post my timeline of events.

Ordered my phone (black 32gb) at 2:15am cst
Ordered my wife's phone (white 16gb) at 2:20am
Got two confirmation emails immediately afterward and a "processed" email on her account.
Due to a cc problem hers went through but mine "needed attention"
I corrected mine at around 11:45 am (same day) and my "processed email came in around 12:20pm.

CC holds came off on Monday hers first then mine later that night.
Hers came off back order on Tues, and moved to shipped last night.
Her CSS email came in on Weds.
Mine is still on back-order.
I called ATT this morning and was given the 10/4 date for mine.

Both order numbers start with 1406

After the CSS email, I've been checking our contract dates. Hers listed her new contract date as 9/14/12. Up until today, mine showed that mine has expired. Now it's shows 9/20/12, but I'm still at back-order. Not sure if that means I'll get it this Friday or not, but it's another data point.

So THIS explains why some people that ordered early somehow fell behind. What a crock. Basically AT&T is penalizing you because THEY failed to process orders on a first come, first serve basis. Nice. Freakin' brilliant. Why bother with all the hype of pre-ordering then? Worthless cretins, the whole lot of them. :mad::mad::mad:

Well, after a lengthly phone call with AT&T, i pretty much got the same run around!!! I think that it's total messed up that they have technical problems and we get screwed... I like the person above ordered my phone at around 12:45a on the might of the 13th/14th... The website was down for 30-45 min, as soon as it went up, 12:45a I placed my order. The website sent the conformation letter and the website did guarantee that my order would be shipped and arrive by the 21st... Well, here it is and no email to show it's shipping and no tracking number... And based on their website, I'm pending and backordered!!! I had a reservation at Apple for the phone because they couldn't reach AT&T's servers, but since I was finally able to order the phone on AT&T, i let my Apple reservation go... and now I'm stuck for the first time with not having the phone on the launch date! And whats worse, is that AT&T didn't notify people that there had been this issue and that our orders would be backordered! Bad customer service on AT&T's part! :mad:

I lost all faith! LOL! I had to order in store because ATT messed up my account. I was first in line at 9am CST and NO PROGRESS on my order so FAR! Still backordered!! Goshh.. This is soooo BS!
 
Question

I ordered 2 64 blacks 5:30 PM on the 14th. I know I'm not getting it tomorrow, but I don't know what the shipping estimate is. I only get the 14-21 business day standard response.

My AMEX has already been charged for both phones, my order number begins with 9401 and I'm still on back order at the status page as of this writing.

Has anyone in circumstances similar to mine discovered a shipping estimate?

Who knows, she may be wrong. I was looking at my order history from AT&T for the 4S, and it was shipped via FedEx and the reference number is not our phone numbers, it's something weird. So for all we know, they may have already been shipped, but we cannot locate them by reference since AT&T does not use phone number as reference when shipping with FedEX.
 
It's looking like the in store pre order was the worst way to go !! No progress at all and on top of it they wouldn't let me cancel my order... I would have though it was the best way to go.... Terrible
 
sad, because it should work...WE DID NOT MESS UP OUR ORDER! And it sucks that we woke up early to preorder and yet people can walk into AT&T tomorrow and get a phone...

Not likely. Rumors are hardly any will be available in store. My local store said they are already preparing for unhappy people who waited because they got so few, especially the black ones. I have a feeling the apple store will have a much better quantity, but from what I am seeing it looks like its not a marketing ploy by apple. They really don't have enough to meet demand (not that they ever seem to at launch, but REALLY more so this time.

Aww, don't mind me and my ranting. I'm just frustrated. A bit. A tad. Okay, I'm delirious with anger, LOL! But...if this is the only thing I have to b*tch and worry about, I'm truly a blessed man. It's my FIRST iPhone after dealing with BlackBerry units, and I was so geeked and eager for the bliss of Apple. :p
