ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

It was also with AT&T and it's apparent that their operators do not know what they're talking about. they will tell you that you are not going to get your phone for weeks or that it will "ship "on the 21st but not be delivered until later but then it will show up tomorrow anyway. Certainly there are some of you who did order too late and will not get your phones but from what I have seen if AT&T shows you are going to get it on the 21st at the time you placed the order on the 14th then you will in all likelihood. There are also a number of people who have tracking numbers but do not know how to find them on at&t's website because they think they will be on the main page where the phone and Sim card order is shown. They are missing the small link that takes you to be tracking information page which is different.

I hope you're right and I'm one of those people haha. If not then oh well, all I can do is wait.

They come with the SIM cards installed already, but maybe because of this nano sim in the 5 or something they won't already be installed. But I'm pretty sure they will come in the phone.

So how many people did they have to employ to sit around and program all of the sim cards and then install them into 2 MILLION phones!!!

Actually, it was probably all done in China before they shipped them over here...
 
If you guys are coming from the 4S and upgraded to iOS6, believe me you aren't missing much if you don't get your iPhone tomorrow. Received mine early today and having both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 4S, it isn't anything to lose sleep or keep hitting refresh all night for. It's beautiful device but the screen size doesn't make that much of a difference and it more or less feels like the 4S with somewhat of a speed boost. Now I have to wait to purchase the stupid $30 adaptor to plug this into my car!

Exact same thing happened to me...ordered on the 14th yet they say it was ordered on the 17th. Been with AT&T since 2005 and Cingular before they were acquired and it means absolutely nothing. They also told me the same BS they told you. There's that old saying...a happy customer tells one, an unhappy customer tells ten...it's already been north of ten. Hell I think I have 500 friends on Facebook that know I'm not happy with FU&U...I mean AT&T - they should be renamed

This is what I have and I ordered mine on 14th but changed it to 15th :(, I live in orange county area in CA and my order # starts with 1711

Still on backorder.... Thanks AT&T for the delivery on the 21st. This will be the last time I preorder with this company.

I've tried doing the reference a bunch of different ways through FedEx and UPS, but nothing even shows up.
 
Just signed into my AT&T account and my plan information isn't available, only my voice plan is available. Which would make sense because the only thing I didn't change while upgrading was my voice plan. Could that be an indicator that I'm seeing some progress?

I got screwed but my brother has a 1504 ordered right before me 10:30 pst and he is getting his tomorrow. Mine is back ordered with no expected ship date. I'm really screwed I guess. Or hopefully I'll get mine tomorrow even though status is still back ordered.
 
quick question fellow apple fans. i ordered 2 iphone 5's , 1 phone got a tracking number (16gb white) at 10:41 pm thursday. while the other phone has no tracking number (64gb black). however, both of them went from back ordered to not backordered thurday night. The white phone will be here tomorrow, any idea when the black phone will arrive? thanks for your time

I'm fairly certain that it went on sale at midnight. I ordered it through the ATT website but it was posted on Apple's website that preorders began at 12.
Yeah 4 CSRs assured me that I would get it the 21st. I'm hoping that the system is just messing up and I'll still get it tomorrow and it'll still say "processing."
 
I got great news. My sister is going to brave the lines at the Apple store. Looks like I will get a launch day phone delivered.

No thanks to the low life's at AT&T who can't take orders chronologically.
 
Well at this point I guess it's pretty much a given I'm not getting a phone tomorrow. Enjoy your phones guys. I'll be 2-3 weeks behind, thanks AT&T for screwing up my order I placed 9/14 yet you say I placed 9/17.

I believe your phone is in Indianapolis. FedEx will be flying cargo from Indianapolis to Denver that will arrive 4:53AM MDT tomorrow morning. That's the only morning flight that FedEx has scheduled to Denver that I can find.

I have 2 orders placed about 5 mins apart both 1504 both on backorder, but still processing.

That is a little late since that is 830 Eastern time and as I recall that is close to when they said they started seeing sellouts on certain models. I will wish you luck on that though. My order is a 1711 also and it is here so keep your fingers crossed
