After getting screwed over by AT&T online store.. I got the phone from ATT store by standing outside for less than 1 hour. I was driving by and noticed the short line and just took my chances. time to cancel the other preorder.

Did you pay full retail price? I called all the stores in my area. They had 20 or so in each store and all stores sold out in 2 hours and I'm now told they won't get more until all preorders fulfilled over next 4 weeks.

I jut stopped into my AT&T store to see what cases they got in today. There was no line and they still had several of each model and color of iPhone 5's available. They did say though that once sold out, they didn't know when they would be restocked.

My FedEx guy delivered my extra lightning cable yesterday, and was already complaining how much he had to work on Friday and Monday. What I thought was interesting, he said they are delivering the phones in waves, on Friday and Monday.


Where'd you get your cable? I didnt see any on Amazon or Apple Store.

there are some stores around me with availability but my upgrade is still bound up with my pre-ordered one that's in limbo right now.

the att store rep told me that there is no way to get one with the sub. price. but the att phone rep told me that i can just go ahead and buy one now and then return the preordered one. who is right?
 
This sums it all up...

UPS just delivered my wife's 32gb white phone (ordered through the Apple store at 3:25am EST), knocked on the door, and requested a signature. Not sure if they would have left it at the door, I should have asked.

My 64gb black is still backordered of course (ordered through AT&T at 3:15am EST).

Anyone still fighting for statement credits over this debacle? AT&T hasn't sent me a single email, nothing. If I wasn't checking up on this frequently I'd be happily expecting my phone to arrive today. At least I won't be surprised.
 
I posted earlier that yesterday morning i went from 1 to 0 backordered. Last night I got the CSS email. Confirmed it, etc. and mine still says Pending Shipment in the order status. No tracking # yet either. No clue where this puts me in terms of delivery. 2 weeks? 4 weeks? The problem with AT&T is that if I didn't already know not to trust them, I'd expect the phone today. They haven't communicated anything to me since the email right after I ordered on the 14th stating the phone would be here today on the 21st. Argh.

My local AT&T store said they are getting more phones in tomorrow. After that she is not sure when the next shipment will arrive.
 
Finally broke and decided to post - just trying to see if anyone has any thoughts, this thread is tough getting caught up with. First, thanks to all who are trying to figure this out in spite of ATT's incompetence.

I ordered around 9:30 on the 14th and my order date now says the 17th. I'm in the 1406 group. No emails or texts, stuck in backorder - 1 and shipment pending.
 
anyone else that was eligible for early upgrade (+$250) try canceling their order and going to ATT store? I'm still back ordered but the ATT store down the street has them in stock.

I just dont want to lose my early upgrade eligibility if I cancel.

I went and waited in line. There were about 20 people ahead of me. I waited because even if I didn't walk out with a phone today, I needed a new sim card for the temp phone I'm using. Long story short, they let me cancel my order in store and still use my early upgrade. I don't know if that's for all stores, but I would think so...
The kicker - Premier said my preorder cancel was unsuccessful! So now I'm on hold trying to find out what that means. 15 min so far on hold...

There was one person who was in your boat when I was in line. I believe they were told that the account needs to be reset after the cancellation in order to get the early upgrade.

Based on Emma's situation, it looks like you will be good if you go get one. however, hopefully, you are already at the store and have your new one secured. :)
 
if it still says "processing" on the ATT website, there's NO chance it will be here today, correct?

hasn't changed status since i ordered it last Friday...

This is the worst part, when the Iphone 5 could be here ANY SECOND

almost prefer to wait 2-3weeks at least i know how long to wait lol

SPECIALLY, when i have a 9hr drive
literally waiting by the door for the fedex driver!!!!

GREAT! I called to cancel my fake pre-order and they tell me it can't be done. I wanna buy it in the store so I can handle my own issues and not leave it up AT&T to F U C K UP!!!!! So I am stuck with something I don't want, my old broken phone, and forced to sit and wait until they decide to ship it. I did get a $25 credit though, which pales in comparison to the frustration of doing what I am supposed to on my part but watching them mess up a seemingly simple thing. Lesson learned. :mad:

I doubt it, but i've heard stories about the site not updating even after they have already delivered the iphone..
but then again, i wouldn't hold my breath
 
Ordered late on the 14th?

To all of you that ordered after the cutoff on the 14th keep us posted as to your status. For example, I ordered a black 16GB and black 64GB at just after 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. I have no idea when I'll get mine but I am hoping that others that ordered late will post updates as they get shipment notifications.

It might depend on store. I cancelled my pre-order in the store (or so I thought). They went through with my new order, no upgrade charge. When I got home I found out my order wasn't cancelled! AT&T tells me it can't be cancelled now because it's with a carrier to be assigned for delivery. Of course all of my statuses say Backorder, processing pending, blah blah blah. I'm not sure how it was able to go through...but it did. Now I'll have 2 phones...wonder what they're going to charge me :(
