Are you sure about that. My AT&T store just opened and I"m thinking about going down right now.

I'm not saying this applies to everyone. I complained to the supervisor about their system screwing up my order, which it did. I placed it on 9/14 but then my order status changed to placed 9/17. So therefore they said they could do it for me. Im not sure it's gaurunteed to work or anything but I'm going to give a shot later today after working 16 hours.
 
The CSR lied to you. I ordered at the store at 9:03 EST and got an email 21 minutes later saying 14 to 21 days.

When I ordered in-store the rep said it would be delivered on 9/21 at the store. I walked out with printed CSS papers clearly showing 14-21 days. I called CS yesterday and was told shipping 10/4 to 10/15 and she gave me a $20 credit because I was disappointed.

My order now shows the WHT 16bg as shipped with delivery on 9/24 and the BLK 16gb off back order but not yet shipped. AT&T is a total mess.
 
OMG!! Just got shipping email from FedEx! It gets here by tomorrow!! AT&T site still says "Processing" but FedEx said it's on its way.. What??

Based on the last 3 launches I've been here for, I'd consider FedEx to be infinitely more reliable at this point. If FedEx says it is on its way, then it's on its way.

AT&T is a total mess.

This will all become national news in coming hours and look really bad on them. When 3G came out, AT&T sales networks crashed as they weren't ready for the masses. Now they aren't ready for the sales again and have to back order it all. Fail. They KNEW about this happening months ago
 
I ordered my iphone 5 at around 11:50am on 14th and received the confirmation letter from at&t at 11:54am. My first 4 digit of order # is 1195, so I wonder when can I expect to receive it?

The order status indicated that it's still IN PROGRESS, it looks like it was actually ordered on 9/16 and there is a "1" under the category "QTY ORDERED", anyone could let me know what's that mean?

Yeah they are saying the same thing to me. Do you think they'll still have stock after 16 hours?
 
Ordered at 10:30am, the 14th, in store. Still on back order.

Could've easily waited in line at local AT&T store for 30 minutes and gotten one.

But, pre ordering it took my only upgrade and you can't cancel pre orders apparently.

Pretty disappointed. It's going to be a long week.
 
Just received 1 white and 1 black 65GB. Ordered on the ATT website around 250 AM EST last thursday. Regular ATT customer, fedex was here at 11AM EST today, no signature required.

Setting up now.
 
LOL!! I got an email from AT&T (promotional) that announces... THE IPHONE 5 IS HERE!!! Effin' liars :D
 
I called CSR just now. He said it's "ready to be shipped, but won't arrive till 10/4-10/15. I expressed my frustrations and demanded to talk to a supervisor. And got hung up on. Pissing me off.

Gonna call them again and chew them out.

Ordered 9/14 and 8:35am pacific time. Pending shipment (but not backordered). My order # is 1019.

If it's ready to be shipped, why not ship it NOW, or tomorrow. Instead of later. Dumbasses.

i'm resigned to waiting till 10/4 to 10/15 as well. but at least by then most apps should be updated to run on the new 4" screen....

I'm exactly where you are - story is exaclty the same. ordered at about the same time , black 64 gb and 1504xxxxx. nothing. no updates. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the 64 gb version. maybe they didn't get a lot.

the lack of the first come first serve is the only part that bothers me too.

Yep, same here, sounds like 1504 is code for "**** you".
 
Well, I didn't think it would actually happen, but today I logged into Order Status and its going to be delivered today! It got overnighted from Fort Worth, TX and is currently at the Destination Facility in Sun Valley, CA (about 15 miles away) and will be out for delivery soon. Currently on step 3 of 4, where step 4 is "In Transit".
 
Just called Fedex and UPS and nothing on my way :( , I ordered at 5am on friday morning and still shows up processing and backordered

I guess it's still a little too early to tell, as iPhone shipments are just starting to arrive at people's homes, but has there been anybody who has received the iPhone 5 they ordered but never saw AT&T update their account from Pending Shipment to Shipped? I'm on my last bit of hope here - I've heard that in previous years, many didn't see Shipment changes in their account until much later after it was actually shipped. I'm one of those whose account hasn't shifted from Pending, although my order went through hours before many of those who 'are' confirmed to be getting shipments today.

Anybody? Anybody? :confused:
 
Just cancelled the preorder. Dialed 611 from my phone and then pressed 0. Short wait time, girl was very friendly and helpful. She said, "it says it can't be cancelled, but that's not right. Let me contact the right fulfillment center, they are the ones who cancel." She's even going to call me back within the hour to let me know that I am good to go with the upgrade eligibility refresh. She's just waiting on confirm from a different center. Now I get to go on a wild goose chase in NYC all weekend trying to find a phone, should be exciting, but wasn't going to wait until October 14th.

If the reps are denying you the cancellation and backorder column still shows 1, my advice is to dial 611, press 0, then be nice (ask how their day is going, weather, etc.), say you are confused (haven't gotten any e-mails since you placed order, want to make sure it's still in system, etc.). They'll tell you it's in there, won't ship until at least Oct. 5. If you get hesitation, I would suggest stating you are on vacation during those dates, and would rather try your luck at the at&t store in the area.
