ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Same with me. Almost tripped on myself when doorbell rang. He was already driving away when I opened the door.
I'm upgrading from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5 (AT&T). Phone's been delivered so I'm anxious to get home and get it.
What will I have to do as far as the SIM card is concerned when I upgrade? I've been searching but can't really find anything on it.

Same here! But I even saw a FedEx truck drive by and not stop at my house. If I'd had shoes on I'd have chased him
We live in a big subdivision so I assumed maybe he was going to do a lap and be back soon - but it's been over 30 minutes. I'm supposed to be working from home today so it's fine (I guess) if it doesn't come until close to 3p

i called the three ATT stores near me and they've all just sold out.
trying to call an apple store now. they'll probably laugh at me.

Yeah, I'm in class right now. Should be getting out soon but I'm afraid that they'll be sold out too. I live around like 6 stores and I'll call them all. Did any of the stores mention how many they had?

AT&T and their Stupidity
Did anyone else who pre-ordered but is still in backorder hell just receive an e-mail from AT&T with the subject of "Hurry! You have 30 days from activation to protect your new device."??? What a joke?

man, how'd you do that? i called them (3rd time), the reps were nice, but not able to help me out by canceling. they did waive the upgrade fee though...
You don't have to do anything, all you have to do is power up the iPhone 5 and it will take you threw a few quick steps and your done with activation. Then just restore from your previous iPhone for all the settings. Make your Wifi is working but other than took about 2 mins to activate.
Anyone have a similar story?
I ordered mine at 6:45AM CST from the AT&T website and immediate got a confirmation email saying my order "will arrive on 9/21/2012" and not another peep from them after that. No clauses saying anything other than that... Just outright today and my shipment is still being processed.

Phone has been on Fedex tuck for 3.5 hours. In agony because I am not at home. Waiting on the tracking to say delivered and/or the phone call from the person who is in/out of the delivery address today hopefully with good news that they have my phone so I can stop thinking about it haha.
I canceled my preorder and got the phone at a store.
If u call they will tell you they can't cancel your order. I tried 3 times. Then I Called some stores , found one with 32gb black still in stock.
Lady was able to cancel my preorder and handed me my a new iphone.

Supervisor "authorized" my preorder to be cancelled after I talked to the 1st rep. IDK, they're a mess.
In process of cancelling my entire account with ATT, and they're now begging me to stop and blaming the entire ordeal on Apple. Please.
64g black - still waiting for that status to change.

Stopped by a store and they had a few 16's, ad some 32's. told me they were getting more 32/16 in tomorrow... 64? Yea.... No.

lOL. You can see an iPhone box On the ground. I bet they just toss them around. Oh well.
Still in backorder hell
Ordered at 11AM PST on 9/14, order # 14070XXXX....
Still showing order status as back ordered. Called ATT, they say it will ship between 10/4 and 10/15.
Why did I bother with a preorder. I could get a phone right now at an AT&T store, one of my co-workers just did.
Lesson learned. Never again.
