ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Late order on the 14th, processed on the 15th

Hi guys, long time lurker, noob at posting...
Congrats to those who got their phones today.

I didn't order the phone until 4 pm on the 14th. Long story short, I didn't want to pay the 250 upgrade. When I talked to a representative, they credited my bill for the upgrade fee. So I'm not expecting any miracles, but I'm sure Ill be the last to get a phone. What do you think?

Btw order still shows back ordered with lending shipment.
 
ATT account cancelled. This whole ordeal has left me extremely unhappy. The confusion/miscommunication among the ATT reps were unbelievable. It wasn't really about the phone, but the customer service and the misleading answers they provided that irked me.

Time to find another carrier. And hopefully Iphone 5s will be fully available then.
 
I'm now wondering why ATT didn't opt to use USPS as another shipping source as well. Would it not be better to have as many hands on deck during these iPhone launches?

Still waiting; still hopeful. But it's 12:04 PM, Chicago time, and I'm losing faith by the minute. This sucks.:(
 
So mine DID actually ship. Never an email or anything from AT&T. Went off backorder yesterday and just checked the status on Att.com and low and behold a tracking #. I'll be damned. Looks like it shipped yesterday from Memphis and is in NYC now. I should have this afternoon.

sure thing: arrived 12:45 pm eastern in NYC. ordered black 32 via premier at 6:45 am on the 14th.

Yes the place i got from just had 50 in stock and there were like 30 peoples ahead me
 
It's every truck but FedEx. Seriously seeing & hearing everything but the FedEx truck. I saw a UPS truck for crying out loud. Where are you FedEx!!!
 
Since my 4amET preorder wasn't good enough for ATT to deliver on 9/21 like they listed, I went to the Apple store and took care of it myself. I haven't cancelled the preorder yet but since it still hasn't shipped so my eligibility upgrade was still available in the store. Now to call ATT and cancel the preorder (expecting some hoops to jump through for this).

BTW, iPhone 5 is amazing and LTE speeds are blazing!
 
Giving credit where due...

While AT&T has pretty much made this process look like a monkey ****ing a football, there is some credit that need to be given and thats to those brave souls working for FedEx and UPS for literally Hauling the Mail. :D

A round of applause for them stepping up and getting the job done. I only wish it could have been a little harder them if the unfortunate folks who didn't get theirs shipped yet. :(

Finally the wait is over!!! Got my IPhone 5 like an hour ago :D Upgrading from broken IPhone 3G :)
 
its weird. i preorded mine and my boyfriends last week. for some reason my account wasnt allowing me to place a preorder. i had to call up att at like 10am the 14th, fix the account issues and than place an order on apple.com
but i was able to preorder my boyfriends at like 4am. and yet now his preorder was pushed back to oct 5th, and mine is being shipped today. i thought preorders were taking on first come first serve online.
 
Mine just got delivered!!!!

I opened up my blinds in the living room and sure enough I heard the FedEx truck coming around the way, I looked out the blinds and it came around the dead-end to my house and I went outside and the lady was soooo nice. She smiled at me coming out, I asked her was she swamped with them, she said "Oh Yes! and we were swamped yesterday too! tomorrow and Monday will be a rush". I haven't opened it, figured I'd do a quick unboxing video for YouTube. To compare with yours, mine was ordered 9/14/12 at 3:02am eastern standard time as soon as the website opened.

Never got any emails:
my order starts with 1306:
called in yesterday rep told me everything is perfect but some how i will get it oct4-oct 21
right after that i got congratulations SMS from att .
Call in today rep told me everything is still perfect but she does not know when I will get my order , may be today .
Status on the website :
IN Progress
Back ordered 1
Pending shipment .
NOBODY KNOWS WHERE IS MY PHONE , NOBODY KNOWS WHY I AM NOT GETTING IT TODAY OR WHEN IAM I GOING TO GET IT.
Never again I am ordering from ATT
 
My roommate's 32 GB iPhone 5 arrived about 10 minutes ago from FedEx. He ordered it from ATT at about 7:30am EST on the 14th. Hope that eases some of your nerves.

His status said "processing" as of 3am, so it's probably just lagging behind. I hope you guys get your phones :)

This is how you really know all of us have officially lost it. We are just sitting in our quiet houses waiting to hear the fedex truck. That's what I did this morning, didn't even turn the tv on. :D
