ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

1406 group

Hi 1406 order number group — Did anyone receive any kind of shipment notification? Or has anyone received their iPhone today? Curious... because I have received absolutely no shipment notification, and my friend who ordered about 7 hours after me on the 14th received notification for a wednesday shipping.
 
All right guys I got my phone!

I was a 1504 order and they never shipped me anything. I talked to CS live chat this morning and they they were able to cancel my preorder. She was also able to reverse my upgrade eligibility and it became available pretty much immediately.

Walked into the AT&T store at around 9 AM and walked out literally 15 mins later with my 64 GB white at subsidized pricing.

This morning couldn't have gone any more perfect.

If you guys are in the same boat talk to live chat and see if they can cancel and reverse. I would make sure the store near you has what you want though.

The AT&T store I went to only had the 64 GB in white, but that worked out for me because that is the color I wanted.

I just hanged up with an ATT rep, and completed my upgrade swap within a few minutes. The phone is ready to go with my phone number, I'm a happy Apple customer. :D
 
So is anyone's order still "Processing" with no tracking numbers like me?

Sure wish I knew how long it was going to take.

I knew I wouldn't get it today, mind you, but still.
 
I am part of the 1406 group - stuck in backorder and pending shipment. I went to an ATT store at lunch and thought I'd share my (disheartening) news because I know others are in the same position.

The store was out of phones, but I talked to a nice enough guy who checked my order. He confirmed that it certainly wouldn't be coming today, and said that if I canceled, I wouldn't be able to use another retailer so there was really no point. Didn't really buy that but since there were no phones in stock I didn't push it.

He had no new info - just that my phone was "sitting waiting to be shipped", and he gave me a two week timeframe.

Pretty frustrated, but oh well.

See my post a few below about being stuck in the 1406 group and going to an ATT store to see if I could work anything out - wish I had better news.

Me. Came off back-order sometime this morning but no shipping info at all.

My order begins with 1406, and my 32GB black 5 is on the FedEx truck, and will be here before 3pm PDT.

I ordered at around 12:10am PDT on 9/14. I've received emails, status updates, and tracking numbers as the week progressed.

Clearly the order numbers mean NOTHING.
 
Yay I just received the text that my phone has shipped. Kinda funny I've had it in my hands for the last 2 hours. There still may be hope for you people that didn't get it yet. Oh, and let me also add that at&t told me I would be lucky to have it buy mid october.:confused:

Yup I'm doing this tonight after work. Hopefully the stores around still have phones. She told me just to talk to a rep in the store and they will call and do all the reverse upgrade stuff and etc for me and cancel my pre order. If I go there and they tell me they can't I'm not leaving until I speak with a district manager cause all this BS that AT&T has pulled on me the last week is just irresponsible. I uphold my contract and now it's time to uphold theirs.
 
My phone has been delivered and is at the apartment!!! And now the agonizing wait at work , just 1.5 hours to go!!! Killing me!!!

Yeah it's pretty rediculous. I ordered at 12:45 AM PST and they made me jump through hoops. I'm just glad everything worked out in the end. I hope it works out for you as well.

Most people in line were getting the 16GB so if you're getting a 64 or 32 you may still have a chance to get one after work.

Congrats! When did you place your order?
 
You know what this reminds me of? I worked at Apple Store in San Diego when the Iphone 3 came out and the sales system fried and store orders at the POS (Point of Sale) were going very slow and when an order went through the whole store cheered. I didn't think I'd see that kind of mess every again but here we are. Wake up call for Apple's factories & the carriers to speed up their systems
