Just crazy people who ordered later Friday and Saturday are getting phones today.

Well looks like the AT&T store near me is sold out of everything but 64gb whites. I was gonna cancel my retarded backorder and goto the store and do the whole reverse upgrade thing, but not anymore. Guess I'm stuck watching the website more. At least I get to continue to obsess over the phone even more, fun, maybe, not as fun as having it. I swear if I go home and I have 2 iPhones sitting on my door step I'm gonna flip a lid, but not gonna hold my breath.

Fedex just dropped off my 32gb black at 1pm central. Ordered my phone 8:30am central last Friday.

Same here. Taking forever to load my apps.

I'm going to ask the dumbest question. This will be my 5th iPhone and I still don't know what I'm doing (I am NOT a fan of iTunes). Everytime I get a new phone, I lose all my apps (including the ones that I paid for).

How can I sync my apps so that ALL of my apps/photos/music/etc go onto my i5?

oh yeah.....BTW - went to Best Buy, they had NO cases. AT&T....every Otterbox Defender color available!

In my box, with the new phone, was a flyer for purchasing AT&T Mobile Insurance $6.99/month. You have 30 days from date of activation or equipment upgrade to enroll.

Well that was useful information about an hour ago... lol

tee heeee heeeeeee :) Also last night when I updated a ton of apps, it took forever to sync it wireless. I'm adding an AirPort Express this weekend and hope that improves things.

My 16gb white (didn't want to take a chance with black scratches showing silver) just delivered about an hour ago - too bad it delivered at my company, a 7 hour drive from where I live. Hoping they can get it sent out early enough so I get it tomorrow, otherwise I'll have to wait until Monday. Look forward to the upgrade.

Are you serious!!! I was told they are only preorder for the next 3 weeks. Guess I'm off to the mall tonight. Did they have the commuter series as well?

AT&T says...

So, I decided to go ahead and call AT&T and see if they could provide me for a reason as to why my iPhone 5 is not shipping when others who ordered after me have had theirs ship. Yes, I realize the CSRs tend to have no idea what they're talking about or may just lie to calm you down, but I figured, what the hell.

The CSR I spoke to claims that although I ordered the iPhone 5 (Black 32 GB, btw) just before 7 AM EST, the "credit bureau" did not allow for the transaction to take place, so AT&T had to place the order on hold until it could pass the check. She says that later in the day, it passed the check and due to the wait, I lost my place in the queue. Now, this story lines up with the order of events, in that though I got my confirmation e-mail right away, I did not get the text that my order had been processed until hours later, at 2:42 PM. Whether or not this story is BS, I can't say, but this hasn't happened to me before.

Thought I would add that to the pile of "reasons" that AT&T provides for those whose orders have not shipped out yet. Just like so many others, she says it won't ship until October now. I have a hard time believing that, as many who were told that had it arrive today or have it arriving next week. Either way, I'm still frustrated. :(

Thrilled for all of those who've received theirs, though! I know what it feels like to hold a shiny new iPhone in your hand after anxiously waiting for it, and it feels pretty damn great. Hope to feel that way too soon!

Got my iPhone 5. Set it up via the iOS setup screen and connected to my Wi-Fi network (instead of connecting to iTunes). Now my iPhone 5 works... however it says 'No Service' and my iPhone 4 is still receiving calls and texts.

While this is OK for now (I'm still backing up via iCloud) - how do I make the switch? In the past I've just turned on my new phone and the old one lost service automatically...

Any ideas before I call AT&T? :)

My order status is still processing and backordered (preordered 9/14 ~9am PST in store), but the pending charge on my credit card has disappeared. Is this bad news? or common?

I ordered the black 16gb at around 9am Friday sept 14. From AT&T upgrade option

It is on the FedEx truck for delivery and trying to figure out if they will leave it or require signature,

Tracking says standard overnight- does not say anything about signature or delivery confirmation...

My FedEx guy just dropped them in front of my door and ran back to his truck. He was rolling even before I opened the door and I was only 20 feet away. So no sig needed for FedEx.

I think the pre-order cancel comes down to has it been allocated for shipment/already shipped:

- If yes, then you can't cancel.
- If no, free to do so with help of rep.

That's my take based upon this thread.

I thought I cancelled mine in store. They went ahead and processed it as an upgrade and I went home to get an email from premier stating my cancellation had been unsuccesful. After sitting on hold for 20 minutes I talked to a really nice rep who told me it couldn't be cancelled due to it being allocated for shipment. But she couldn't tell me who it was being shipped by; I will get that information later today. Also, I have to cancel my order through UPS or FedEx; AT&T can't cancel it. That doesn't seem right.
I doubt I'll see tracking information. I'll just have to wait until I get it and return it to the store in town.

What they told you is clearly not true. One that I ordered on Saturday 9/15 is on the UPS truck to be delivered to my house TODAY...

Not dumb at all.

Make sure you "backup" your old phone to iTunes right before you're ready to stop using it.

When you have your new iPhone activated and turned on it will ask if you want to restore from a backup. You say yes. It will ask for your iTunes ID. Type in the one you used for your old phone.

Same thing happened to me, I found out on the 15th, but mine's on FedEx truck now. System is so random.

Too late!

Just kidding. Hopefully you live in a safe neighborhood. I'm really surprised that they didn't require signature on these...

Upps... My bad. 9/15.

I know mine was at least wrapped in a plastic bag since its raining.

did anyone buying through premier have the option for insurance or anything? or can you not get it this time, or something?

I had to option to purchase it in store. But it was $9.99/mo. I saw someone else had the option and it was $6.99/mo. That might just be AT&T.
