Just got off the phone with AT&T. Noticed I had gotten refunded so I gave them a call asking why. The representative let me know that Apple cancelled every order that was made using a debit card :mad: now I either have to go hunting for one or wait another 3 weeks :(

Drank 2 Dogfish Head beers. Tweeted angrily. AT&T responded to my tweets that they're sorry. They ask for more info.

Sober. Tweeted angrily again. AT&T tweets back again. Asked for DM with information.

I wouldn't believe half of what the reps say. I have caught them in more lies and half-lies, it's unbelievable. One argued with me that ATT sold out of their pre-orders in the first hour and that no one after that was going to get a phone before October.
 
I don't understand anything anymore. I am so disillusioned by this. I ordered WELL before the 9am cutoff. There were NO problems with the order. Got confirmation emails, confirmation text, the whole thing. ZERO problems.

Backorder 1. CSR can not explain anything. There is no credit check problems as I have been a customer for 10 YEARS! I don't understand how they have essentially lost my phone. I don't understand how I order early for the right to get my phone on time and not only does it not arrive, but I will now not get it for up to a MONTH! Instead of ordering early, I could have sat on my butt, slept late that day and walked into the Apple Store here in NY and walked out with my new phone.

CSR gives me the runaround. No answers. In fact, the guy on the phone RIGHT NOW just told my he is certain my phone will be delievered today or tomorrow. I didn't have the fight in me to explain that the fedex guy for our route has already come and gone and doesn't deliver on Saturday.

I just don't see how a company can treat customers like this and stay in business. I know I'm no one special. I just want to be treated like everyone else.

My order still says processing. However I got the refund today. The strange part is that they told me my order has already been cancelled but unlike others I haven't gotten an email saying anything was cancelled. So he might have just been spouting BS but we shall see.

Has anyone been able to figure out what's going on with in-store pre-orders that just recently switched from backorder 1 to 0? Mine switched in the last hour, no shipping info or anything.

i used a debit card to pay for my phone, and the person at my house just sent me a picture of the package. i also had a 1406 order number, but i ordered a black 64GB phone.
 
well despite waking up at 3 AM, i will not be receiving it for 14-21 days because someone stole it. :mad:

UPDATE!

Preordered in the store at 9:15 a EST. Ordered a 32G white and. 16G black. Both were in back-order until this morning and said "In Processing" FINALLY, just now, the 32G white is showing a tracking and deliver for Monday. Nothing yet for the black (mine :()

Hope this encourages those who ordered in-store.

I did our in store pre-orders at 9:03 am cst, because neither myatt nor premier would let me order online. Got the emails early on, watched the charge appear and then disappear on my card, and then NOTHING whatsoever for days now. Still shows backorder 1. I am SO pissed at how this has all been mishandled.:mad:
 
Been reading these post and I was in the same backorder boat.

Ordered on 9/14 they screwed me and moved the order date to 9/17 to be delivered on 10/5. I said no way and got an additional line for my daughter...which I had to do anyway. Used the new line to get my iphone 5 and gave her an old iphone 4.

Then I called ATT Premier and cancelled pre-order. Initially they said the order could not be cancelled, then I told him they could ship it but I will not be paying for it.

This was the worst release of an iphone that I have seen.

Good Luck for all who are still waiting! Now that I have the phone I'm starting to realize more and more its just an 4s with a larger screen.

I just called and instead of asking them where my phone was I specifically asked why my phone was delayed. She didn't understand why it was delayed due to the time I ordered so she did some digging. Unfortunately she couldn't provide me with any answers but she did say they had an issue with premier orders.

That struck me as odd because I'm not a premier customer and I told her that. She then told me that my order went through the premier gateway and she could not explain why. She said she could transfer me to premier and maybe they would have an explanation but since I didn't have the proper order number the premier line just hung up on me.

So...not sure if it's important or not but maybe since my order went through the premier gateway and I'm not a premier customer it created the issue.
 
To those whose phone is still on back order, when did you get the "order processed successfully" sms or e-mail? I talked to a supervisor yesterday and he told me that even though i ordered at 6.38 CST, it didn't get processed till 1.30 PM and hence the delay.

hmm...maybe this is what happened to my mom. she got her order confirmation at 203am central time for a 32GB white phone, and received the order confirmation text and email stating it was in the warehouse awaiting shipment. all week long her order details online read "prending shipment," and on wendesday, a 1 appeared under QTY BACKORDERED. i contacted a CSR person to ask what the deal was, and just got an "i'm sorry," and the excuse that this isn't just happening at ATT. my 64GB black iphone was deleivered about 15 minutes ago, and my order confirmation was emailed to me at 159am central time. i have no explanation other than it was her color choice that is possibly causing the delay, as both of us had a 1406 order number.
 
Been monitoring this forum for the past few days. Seems i'm in the same boat as everyone else. I ordered mine a little late (1pm PT) on 9/14 so I wasn't expecting to get it today. I thought I would try my local AT&T store (franchised) just in the hopes that they may have one. I called and they said they had 1 16gb black left (exact one I want) and I told them how I pre-ordered and they said "no problem, you can call AT&T and cancel". So of course I was extatic so I called and of course the rep told me I couldn't cancel, even though my phone is still "processing" and backordered according to the order status webpage. She said my order would be here around 10/14 when the rep in the store when I pre-ordered told me 14-21 days from 9/14. She then said once the terms and conditions of the 2 year contract are accpeted, there is no way to cancel. I gave her some hell about how the rep and no paperwork ever said anything about how I could not cancel. She said she would try to find a work around and got my hopes up again when she said she found something by e-mailing a higher up manager but it could take up to 24 hrs to get a response. I asked the rep in the store if they could hold the phone for me for 24 hrs, but of course they couldn't do that. By this time I just said screw it. Then when I get home I start reading these forums and see how others were able to cancel with relativley no problems, so I call down there again to see if the phone is still there by chance. Of course it is not. Just pisses me off how I had one in my hand but AT&T screwed me over as they have done for thousands of others. This is definitley the last time I ever pre-oreder from them. To make matters even worse, my room mate walked into a Verizon store this morning and bought two. I will never hear the end of this tonight.
 
1406 orders

1406 order here, place at 3:06am est on the 14th. So I talked again to a rep from att and was told that the phones are not the issue but the number of SIM cards they have. That they have the phones but are not able to send out because there were not enough SIM cards to match and they should get them and ship very soon for delivery date of 11/4 at the latest. I also ask WHY i was not at the top of the list seeing I placed my orde so early and he said that all the orders from that time were when the system was overloaded and all were basically bumped to the back of the line and that he himself was also in that group. He sounded pissed off and totally understood the frustration everyone was having. I hope this helps some people with some answers!
