AT&T Preorder/Upgrade Hostage
I preordered a 16 gig black iPhone in store on the 14th at 2:22 PM MST at a corporate ATT store. My status still shows backordered and processing. I stood in line this morning at the ATT store where I preordered the phone and got to the register with a new phone available to me. I asked the clerk to cancel my preorder so I could buy the phone. She told me she could not do that. I expressed my disbelief and she went to her manager and came back a few minutes later and said that they had no process to cancel my order. I was not rude but told her that this was a very poor customer service experience and that they should just have handed me the phone number to Verizon as they couldn't drive a customer away any faster if they tried. I called ATT to see if I could cancel my preorder and get my upgrade status returned so I could go to the Apple store that still had phones. I was told they could not cancel my preorder as it was placed instore. I am leaving on vacation Tues the 25th and was looking forward to using the camera. Now I am just a hostage of ATT preorder/upgrade limbo. Really poor customer service on ATT's part.
