Anyone know if they will be delivering tomorrow (Saturday)? I know they usually do not, but I was wondering if maybe they'll make an exception for the iPhone.
 
Ordered mine from an AT&T store at 9am PST on 9/14... still backordered... to make matters worse, the local Apple store has plenty of iPhone 5s for each carrier in all sizes and colors... they didn't even sell out today.

AT&T told me I had to cancel my pre-order in store, and it could take 72 hours to take effect.

Since when is a pre-order not a pre-order? This is insane.

Dude don't let them lie to you. Worst customer service ever. One person said to me I could cancel. I called back and the other said I couldn't and I complained some more and they transferred me to their manager. They did everything for me.

I now have 2 iPhone 5s in my hand where originally they were "processing shipping". I did all this in the apple line.
 
Haha, Got my pre-order today as expected then immediately got in the car to go out of town. I get to the hotel (Military post) and try to activate my phone only to find out itunes won't connect. I can open the app but it just says it can't connect to the network yadda yadda. Come to find out they're running SMOOTHWALL. I guess Soldiers can go die for their country but God forbid they look at a pair of boobies!! For some unkown reason smoothwall blocks iTunes of all things. WTF!

I guess that's what I get for having such a smooth pre-order process. Something had to go wrong. Looks like I'll be finding a wifi hotspot around this one horse town tomorrow!
 
Ok. So I'm a retail Store preorder debacle Candidate in backorder hell. I went to an Apple Store and got a phone. My status as of now has changed to backorder 0, but not tracking number. The question is do I call to try and cancel before or after I activate my new phone? Also, are there any "tips" to cancelling? Thanks in advance!
 
Got my iPhone 5 32gb Black. No Sim Card...AT&T close...WTH? What kind of dumb...nevermind. I'll be glad that at least I got it.
 
Am I in for another debacle.

I ordered on time, ATT never delivered, so I cancelled. But now when I check my account I do not have upgrade eligibilty until April 14, 2014. What a nightmare. Looks like I may have another complaint to file with the better business bureau. I already tried to rectify it with ATT and they gave me the run around yet again.
 
So I was in the 1504 order group and I called to speak with customer service and the lady on the phone told me the reason I didn't have my iPhone was because orders opened up on the 13th and I was a day late. I told her a friend of mine ordered his at 10:00 am and his was out for delivery and I ordered at 1:00 am.

When I said this she snapped at me and told me there was no way I was right and that she knew it went on sale before then. When their site was in "maintenance" on the 13th for the launch as I'm sure we all know. On top of the fact that it was opened for pre-order on the 14th. Calmly to try and defuse the situation I asked to speak to a supervisor.

The supervisor told me that I didn't order at 1:00 am and basically it was my fault. I asked if she could cancel my order and she said she couldn't because someone had my account open and updating it so I'd have to wait an hour. The AT&T store near my house had phones but after the hour I had to wait they were all sold out.

So with all of the issues I had with the Online order support team and their service at my house. Whether it was sounding as if they were literally drinking on the job to putting me on hold several times while I was explaining my reason for calling, I closed my account. Then I moved over to Verizon where my area gets better coverage (I've been off contract since July). I guess they thought they were the only company with the iPhone still.

After all of the issues with my order, AT&T Customer Service and the bad service I was getting at home I decided to move to Verizon where I would get better service at home. I picked up a 64GB White iPhone 5 and can finally take a call without having to go outside to get reception.

Back order went from 1 to 0 overnight. Not shipped yet, but progress.

Ordered 9/14 at corporate store 9:40am EDT. Email confirmation at 10:02am said 14-21 days.

Thats not true on my end. They work on Sat. too but of course not on Sunday


I was scheduled for delivery on Friday, tracking showed it was on the truck and out for delivery. My status then mysteriously went form on the truck to back to destination. I received this message . . .

So I can only hope that they are delivering on Saturdays. So Pi$$ed at UPS.

mine was ordered for me in-store at around 8:30 AM on 9/14, been backordered ever since. last night between 5 and 8 pm my phone was put from backorder 1 to 0. just checked it this morning and its shipped and on its way for monday delivery!!!!
 
Ok it had a sim, no sim tool to check though so I got creative!

I removed the sim tray and saw the sim. Put it back into the phone. Nothing. Repeated and rebooted phone it picked it up and now works. Was activated over cellular no wifi or itunes!
 
Still backordered here. 1612 group. If by midday there is no progress I am calling and to cancel the preorder and just try to find two phones at an Apple store.
