I left AT&T also, nice to have a choice.
I want to try something:
How many people here ordered early on the 14th, had no credit issues etc, yet are still backodered and have unlimited data and/or service contracts with better deals than are offered today?
As an example, I have unlimited data and only pay about $70 a month total. I have a crazy number of rollover minutes as well. The fact that AT&T feels like they are passive aggressively trying to get me to jump ship is the only excuse I can come up with.
Anyone else?

I have the same type of service as you (grandfathered unlimited data, cheap plan, a crapload of rollover minutes), and I received my order on time yesterday.
I was, however, wearing a tinfoil hat all day yesterday, so.....
haha and AT&T killed JFK!
Tinfoil! Doh! I knew I forgot something.
FWIW, I called and spent about a half an hour on the phone with AT&T this morning. They were very pleasant and helpful, and they said that my Order status did update overnight, and it looks like my order was pushed back even further than originally anticipated. They had told me the 14 to 21 day window last time I spoke to them, but today they told me now looks like 28 days. They told me that I should expect delivery of my phone sometime around October 24. They were really apologetic and even said at the beginning, I bet you're calling about the iPhone 5. I feel bad for the reps, at least the pleasant ones, and all the ones I've spoken to have been really nice. They did offer a statement credit of $125. Luckily, my wife was able to pick one up at the AT&T store yesterday on her account, so I have the phone. And I also ordered a second one through Apple, which I know will be delivered on October 5. So I'm okay, but for those who are waiting for AT&T to deliver, I would suggest calling to see if your status updated overnight. Online, mine reflects no change all it says is backordered 1, processing.

So my phone shipped yesterday, the 21st. It'll be here by 3 PM on Monday. It's in Fort Worth Texas right now. Is it possible to be able to pick it up from the FedEx place if it arrives today, being Saturday.
Did anyone with order starting with EXTP receive their phone(s)? We ordered 4 and were placed immediately in the backorder bin, still there.
Wonder if AT&T processed single orders before multiples?
Still backordered here. 1612 group. If by midday there is no progress I am calling and to cancel the preorder and just try to find two phones at an Apple store.
When did you place this order? I seriously hope this is not true.
Just got off the phone with AT&T. About a 45 minute conversation and here is what I was told. Take it for whats its worth, but this guy was the 2nd level as I asked for Supervisors. If you ordered at a retail store and agreed to the terms of service they cannot cancel for you. You can not cancel at the store since you already agreed to the terms including the shipping and delivery date. If you want to cancel, you have 2 options.....Option 1 refuse delivery of the Phone and that will effectively cancel your order. Option 2 Is to take delivery of the phone and return it to the retail store, but they will charge you a $35 restocking fee. This may just be MY experience, but that's it FWIW

I was scheduled for delivery on Friday, tracking showed it was on the truck and out for delivery. My status then mysteriously went form on the truck to back to destination. I received this message . . .
