Come on now guys. Pending shipment shows up under tracking number. It means you will get a tracking number pending shipment. In other words, it hasn't shipped yet and when it does, you will see a tracking number where it says pending shipment. It isn't related to your current order status. Sorry to burst your bubble. The PROCESSING is where your order status is at.

And mines show Sept. 15 even though I placed my order on the 14th, which leads me to believe:

1. Order is placed.
2. PENDING status means it's been received.
3. PREORDER PROCESSING status means your order is being processed (i.e. credit card check, address check, make sure all info valid). This is the point where you're officially placed in the queue and get an actual time stamp, not the one you get when you placed the order.
4. Some kind of warehouse stage where your order gets sent to the warehouse for shipment.
5. Shipped where you get a tracking number.

This is all deduced from years and years of ordering stuff online from countless vendors and using common sense. I think most of us are stuck on #3.

So if mine says "Pending Shipment" I should get it on the 21st?

People are looking way too far into the "Pending Shipment" status. If you notice, that status is under the "Tracking Number" column. Essentially, the status means that there is no tracking number available because it has not yet been shipped. The tracking number will be there if/when your device ships. That's all it means - nothing more, nothing less. The "Status" column is all that really matters.

Where is this order status at because I get two different statuses when I type in my wireless number.

One says processing and the other says In progress...

There are two different order status pages. One will tell you Processing, the other tells you In Progress. The two statuses mean the same thing.

http://www.att.com/wirelessorderstatus (this is the one included in the order email)
http://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/order_status

The two sites show the same information, they just seem to have different terms.

And then there's also a Premier order status page, but I don't know the URL to that one.

I would ignore the backordered portion because I don't think AT&T has a clue exactly how much stock they're getting/have. If people really want an accurate idea of whether they are going to receive their phone on release date, keep checking starting Monday. The weekend isn't going to yield any concrete info.

Well I got a text saying that my order had been processed and I would receive a tracking number as soon as it shipped. So I'm guessing my order should arrive on the 21st. (CSR states my order says a shipping date of 10/4) But my order is still not showing up under "my orders" on AT&T...it just seems like not everything is lining up on their website.

Ya. It sounds good for you. People assume orders are going to be processed and get approved exactly in the order that it's been placed. But I think there are many varying factors that can put people ahead of others even if they ordered later. For one, the T&C confirmation thing. Then there's also credit card/billing info checks. Any hiccups along the way can potentially put you ahead/behind someone regardless of when you placed your order. Of course the sooner you placed it, the better of a chance you get to be processed first.

Very understandable. Thanks for clarifying. It's just frustrating when you wake up early and then the CSR tells you that you have a shipping date of 10/4.

Does everyone have to send T&C back? Because I don't remember doing that.

Nah. I think the T&C thing is for people who ordered through the phone.

Has there been a single existing AT&T Premier customer who ordered their phone through the at&t desktop website and got a ToC email that they had to accept?

I'm not a premier customer, but ordered through website and did not receive T&C.

Premier order date issues

Hey guys. I ordered at ~7:30 am on the 14th through the AT&T website and my order is a "Premier" order... My card has been charged, however the standard AT&T order status site says the order date is the 15th (unlike the status linked in the confirmation email). I'm confident of the 21st delivery, but this disparity has me worried. Anyone else have the same issue?

Thanks!
Wes

I am having this issue as well. I ordered mine at 7:40am yesterday Sept 14th and yet the regular site says today Sept 15th.

You placed your order on the 14th and they received it, but did not process it until the 15th. That's my guess.

The T&C email is only for Apple or AT&T web customers where the T&C agreement was not indicated as checked in part of the order process. Same thing happened last year.

During the web order process, there is a checkbox to agree to the Apple/AT&T T&Cs but due to the server loads some orders don't indicate that you had agreed to the T&C as part of your order.

Note: Also any AT&T customer that ordered via phone should expect to receive the T&C email.

If you ordered in-store at an AT&T retail location, you should have agreed to the T&C on the signature pad as you signed your pre-order for direct fulfillment ( shipment to you ).

Hey guys,
I would love some clarification if you have any. I preordered through the AT&T Business site at 6:00AM on the 14th. I recieved a confirmation email at 6:29AM saying that it has been reserved and "should arrive as soon as Sept, 21, 2012". The order status site still has my order processing, and I haven't gotten any emails from AT&T since the confirmation email. Does my phone look to be on track for delivery on the 21st? I'm so excited!!!!

I am literally exactly the same. Same scenario, same times, same status.

Has there been a single existing AT&T Premier customer who ordered their phone through the at&t desktop website and got a ToC email that they had to accept?

im premier, and never received ToC email... but my status says pending shipment.

(ordered 7am Pacific 9/14)

That makes no sense. According to AT&T on the regular site it shows I placed the order today Sept 15th at 2:08pm and yet on the premier it states yesterday Sept 14th at 7:40am. That's 31 hours later that it was processed and I get booted to the back while my order is being "processed" while others who ordered after me are getting ahead? I am a current customer with no credit checks to process....I highly doubt this is the process is the way you are describing.

From what others were saying here, i think it also depends on whether anything delayed the order. Meaning when did you actually get the card authorized, or payment go through. Did you make any changes that may have changed your spot in line etc. I have seen quite a few reasons here that ppl have said that may change the order goes through or processed. It sucks but nothing anyone can do.

I didn't make any changes and I do see a pending charge from AT&T.

I do hope you get yours on the 21st also. I think we are all in the same boat, wondering if anything will change the ship date of our phone. But i don't have that problem of it saying the 15th instead of the 14th. So hopefully you get that resolved.

All we can do now is wait and see...
