Don't fret the lack of a charge on your CC. It's the backordered status that you want to get out of first and foremost. When your financial institution puts the funds out there to be collected and it just languishes, it will pull it back in 3 to 5 days and credit it back to your account. The merchant then has to submit a new request. You just know that AT&T is gonna come sniffin' for the cash when they want it; no worries there. My account has no pending charges either since the merchant took it's time about collecting. They'll charge you sooner or later--rest assured.:p

Yah last year with my 4s I am quite sure they never charged or anything until like 2 weeks after receiving my phone.

I know that there is still a lot of hope for those of us that just went off backorder...but doesn't it seem that it just happened to EVERYONE?!

I have been off backorder for more than a day now...no new shipping info. Anyone else like this?

Here. Went off backorder yesterday around5pm CST. No shipping info yet. Hopefully see something on Monday

Oh, it seems like the 16&32s are the ones getting off back order fast! It's the 64s that are having the most back order issues from what I see here on the forum. So it might be soon for you then!
 
OK, this is gonna be a long one.

My in-store order's came off backorder yesterday at 3 pm, but no shipping info until now. Called four different times and got these stories:

CALL ONE: CS rep confirmed that my phone was backordered and that it would be 14-21 days. I asked to cancel the order, and she assured me she could not do that. Couldn't cancel the preorder.

CALL TWO: CS rep looked up my record, and said my phone had shipped! Great news, via FedEx... until she took a closer look and said, no it's still backordered and shipping on 10/4. Ummmm.... Asked her to cancel the order, and she said it could be canceled -- but only in store.

CALL THREE: CS rep confirmed the order was backordered, and spoke with her supervisor and had it canceled. She confirmed my upgrade eligibility would be restored, but it might take up to 48 hours. GREAT NEWS!

CALL FOUR: Before heading out to find the phone I wanted in a store, I called just to double check my eligibility had been restored. Rep said it was still showing as ineligible for upgrade, but by the time we hung up, I'd be able to go into any store and get my phone. I thanked her and hung up.

SOOOOOOOOO I went to the Apple store, where they had just sold the last AT&T phone for the day. The nice people there told me to try back on Monday; they should have the phone I wanted then. Just for the sake of it, I asked her to look up my eligibility status. She did, and said it was coming back as NOT ELIGIBLE FOR UPDATE.

All the CSRs I spoke with were very polite and friendly, but I got four different answers and still am not sure if my eligibility it back and my order is really canceled. I'll be calling again tomorrow for sure!
 
Cancelled my pre order and walked into att store this morning. Got the phone less than 24 hours after I should have gotten it yesterday (I preordered on att website about 10 min after midnight).

Will never preorder again

Not certain it was luck for me. Maybe the time had just arrived for something to move. Sorry about your situation, too. It's not been fun.
 
Off of backorder

I've been on back order since i ordered 9/14 at 1am PST. Talked to representatives several times and nothing they could do. Was still on backorder today, then talked to a rep one more time via At&T live chat. She took my info and order number, was silent a few minutes and told me to check my order status at the normal address. Low and behold, I was no longer on backorder. Seems kinda odd, feels like either she just edited my info to keep me from complaining, or that they only deal with your back order if you complain in the first place and forget you if you don't contact them. Shipping status is still the same, just no longer on back order.

I've calmed down, but I was fairly irritated. The one thing I will say is that all the CSRs were very nice. Of course, I tried to be pleasant and not take an attitude. After all, it's not their fault; they're just the ones who have to deal with all the blowback.

At least I can now find the phone on my own time instead of being a slave to a disastrous preorder system. I live in a big enough city that I should be able to get phone by Wednesday or so. Lucky enough to have an ATT store two blocks from where I work.
 
My phone says Monday delivery, my wife's is not on back order but no shipping info and I have NO charges on my card. I'm really hoping they somehow drop the ball on charging me like they've dropped it on everything else.


Anyone wanna share their experience with having their phone in hand without getting charged by AT&T?

Well I have had a pretty bad day, Preordered 9/14, was told I would receive it on the 21st, and then later got an email it would be delayed and arrive in 14-21 business days. So today I went to my apple store, they had plenty of phones in stock, so I cancelled my order. I then tried to buy an iphone at apple and since I am under a business account I couldnt do it there. And Att has run out too. Pretty bad luckk... lol

The same thing has happened to me except I didn't cancel my order yet. I've chatted with multiple reps on different days with no luck.:( I've tried everything from complaining to threatening to change carriers, still no luck. I guess they really can't do anything and they've used up all their luck:(. we'll just have to wait till october or hope it comes off back order

P.S. ***** at&t. I rarely get more than a bar in my place and it says on the coverage map that my area had excellent coverage. at&t are just lying bastards kept alive by their partnership with apple:mad:
 
i can't even find a live chat person to help me. after i put in all my information i get the dreaded red words saying there was an error and to try later. :eek:
 
Anyone have a 32gb black go off pre-order recently?
Backorder? If so, no I am still on backorder. I ordered two iPhones...one a 16 gb black and a 32 gb black. The 16 gb black is off of backorder, but the 32 gb black isn't.
