ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Here is the deal
Hey guys. I ordered my iPhone 5 IN the AT&T store around 10:30am on the 14th. I was told it would come on the 21st. It did not. I was on backorder, and finally just said screw it. I called AT&T 611 and the CSR said he couldn't do it. I asked for the supervisor, and she couldn't do anything about it. She patched me through to the AT&T store at which I bought it, and I ended up having to go over there. THE CSR's were decently nice. THE STORE GUY was incredible. He cancelled my pre-order, and restored my EARLY-upgrade ($450 for 16 GB Iphone), and sent me on my way.
I went to Car Toys, and when they were pulling up my account information, the EARLY upgrade didn't come up. I called my guy at the AT&T store up, and he said "I'll take care of it man, don't worry." I get put on hold, and next thing I know, he gives me a FULL upgrade ($250 discount), and says "enjoy the phone boss."
I am happy to say, I am posting this all with my new iPhone 5.
So HERE IS THE DEAL. AT&T should have had their act together. We all know that. I was able to get my phone the day after release day because SOMEONE Had it. There were plenty of nice people out there, and that is what made the difference.
For all of you still on backorder--do what I did. Cancel your order. Apple/AT&T/Radioshack/Walmart/Best Buy/Car Toys; someone will have an iPhone.

Does your order date say 9/14? I ordered about the same exact time over the phone order # starts with 90410 also but I didn't accept the terms email until 9/15 because it had gone to my spam, so my order date says 9/15 because of that even though they tell me they see I ordered 9/14..still hoping it goes by the order # maybe they are beginning to process these #'s
My backorder status went to 0 tonight too!
That would be great if we lived close enough. Never assume that people live close enough to an Apple store. It is a 3-4 hour drive for me.

Excellent!! My sister's iPhone got it's tracking number in the past 2 hours.Still says In Progress in its status, so probably soon will say Shipped like mine did 2 days ago.
How long did it take to go from backorder switching to 0 to getting your shipping information?
I ordered my two phones on Friday, September 14 at 6:10 PM EST in store. Both had their backorder status change to 0 sometime tonight. Waiting patiently for shipping information now
it's more at&ts fault actually. if you read some of the articles, some people backordered on apple.com can get their iphones on 9/28, with more and more as new batches come out. at&t is putting everyone in backorder limbo and the earliest they ship is 10/4, which they CLAIM is their second batch but I highly doubt that.
Yeah I'm still on back order as well.
Went down to AT&T store today where they had 20 64 gb black units just sitting there, so I got one of them!

Yea I know most of it is att fault, but my question is why did they even let anyone carry the phone until we were all taken care of.
I know I am deep on the list because I order on the 18. I would have pre order with Apple at 3 am but att refused to let me wave the $250 add on fee. I refused to pay that. It was not until the 18th that I got someone that could help me. The rep at the store told me no one not even the CEO of att would let me wave the $250. Well we see how much they know.
I told myself when the iPhone 4 came out I would never again stand in line for an iPhone, and but now I am saying I will never pre order again. It seems that apple and att care more about the walk ups then the loyal customers. If I would have not pre order I would have my phone.

last i heard from at&t on friday 9/21 was they're backordered and that the new eta is 10/4 - 10-15
they say you cannot cancel an att online order but I'm curious to know, has any succeeded in doing so? if so, how?

Well right now I am super busy at work I am working 65 to 70 hour work weeks with Sunday being the only day I get off, so waiting in line was not an option this time. I could have walked in today I think and gotten my 16 gb white.
I think it's hilarious how apple overestimates their delivery times so they look good by delivering earlier but AT&T underestimates their times by a lot and get a ton of crap for it'!!
Either way, I pre ordered my phone yesterday 9/21 ( yea I know really late). Order number starts 3xxx. Anyone have a clue when that would ship? It says 14-21 days so I'm hoping it at least ships 10/5!

Guys do not listen to the reps... A rep told me yesterday it would be here Oct 4 and now I have a tracking # that says it will be here Monday.

Mine starts with that sequence. I ordered on 9/14 at 6:05am PST through the Premier (business) website and I'm still on backorder... no status change since Tuesday.
I'm not sure that order numbers mean anything. I have seen so many different forms of AT&T order numbers in this thread that it almost seems like they are randomly assigned. My order number is a bunch of letters and numbers with no rhyme or reason.
